let me just start his off by saying I am not a big complainer; The only complaints I have made have been about technical issues.
second, I have been with this game a fairly long time, most of the five years, I bought the box when it came out, I was a subscriber, I have spent probably hundreds of dollars on this game over the years on this game, so I feel I have a right to make my point heard.
this event, while the story itself is well scripted, the game play part is so unbearably stupid that I quit in pain half way through.
electrified walls? Ok, maybe I can see that.
by why does a hospital have a maze?? and why can't I climb over it, or jump on top, or climb above with my zipline??
and moving floors? seriously?? that can only be disabled by blasting points on walls??
(uh, must think hard. I will just calmly walk after the electrified area. that's it.)
this game content had a zero % fun, to the point where I won't do it, free ship or not; and if more content like this is coming, I will simply quit, because I don't play games to give myself migraines.
Jesus, it's called a challenge... God knows we need more of those in this game.
There should be more stuff like this, to make you think how to proceed to the next checkpoint.
I believe his point is that the "challenges" are stupid, not that there shouldn't be challenges. I have to agree with Duck on the maze part and moving floor, lol.
It needs overhaul so that the ramp/pit is in a different map. Maze/Grid on 1 is ok...but if you have to restart (accolade hunting), that's a lot of distance to cover just to get back to the start of the ramp/grid. Would be nice if beam-out/re-enter would restore you to just before the pit/ramp.
you have to remember the 'temple' has been built on top of a vaudwaur installation and given their militaristic outlook it might be that the maze/floor is part of the training grounds.
Same here, I did not see any problems other than watching where you step with the moving floors, and the whining of the Kabali (Harry Kim) reminded me of a 5 year old who wants candy in the store and you keep telling them no. It was something different other than the same old ( Kill 4 squads of this, then kill 4 more squads of morons that did not get the picture from the first batch) etc...
It's certainly a bit tricky, but after a couple of tries its not hard. Would the OP prefer if the level was to kill three groups of Vaudwaar and then face the Vaudwaar captain, etc, like old STO missions? I'll try this level again later to try and finish the obstacles without dying.
Also, they say in the dialog that the maze room was an old server farm from the Vaudwaar and Ketan activated it to stop us from stopping him, etc. At least go to hear some interesting conversations while navigating it.
The last section of that map with the disappearing platforms seems a bit like a Mega Man game. Maybe a bit of Contra thrown into the mix for the insta-death from the electrical discharges from the stasis tubes earlier in the map.
With that in mind, here's some music for those parts.
Really liked this mission even though I can't jump worth a flip...died repeatedly but I'm OK with that....I died because of ME not an overpowered enemy beating the snot out of me! I actually had to use reasoning and logic to get through it!!
Plus you had options on difficulty. Wish the game had more missions like this with the difficulty options and less brainless kill, kill, kill. (Yeah it's an MMO based on Star Trek....they actually used a lot of diplomacy in the series and movies. It wasn't always about killing everything in sight!)
All that was missing were gold coins and mushrooms
Also - if you die 4x, you get respawned on a ledge you can easily get down from. Someone told me that. Yeah. yeah. Someone told me...
If you get the anniversary party horn, you WILL have your gold coins! (no mushroom, but lots of rainbows!)
I've been in the game a little over two years now and frankly, it truly have become a grindfest. Every time I beam to my ship, ALL my stations are gone. Every. Single. Time. It's getting old. They need to fix what's broken, INCREASE the dil cap and stop the bugs that are never addressed. They need to bury all the lockboxes and create, and often.

Ok I get your complaint, but I have NOT ( a long with others) Been able to log in the game since the patch update for the anniversary. I can get to the Cryptic Loading Screen then it Crashes to my desktop. Did the "repair arc" and anything that I could think of to get back in game. NOTHING and No Word from Cryptic about this. Yes I wrote a ticket to them, got their "automated" response"
I so know what you mean. After making it pass the moving floors, I had this little chubby Kobali dressed in red appear and say to me " Hey, it'sa me, Mario!! "
He then jumped on my Gorns head, which caused a Dilithuim Crystal to pop out of his TRIBBLE, threw a tortoise shell at Harry and ran of with that dead chick to some castle, but he had to go to another castle cause this one had a talking mushroom in it...........
No. I haven't been hanging around in Quarks before I beamed down...........
+1 to this!

No, the OP would have preferred it if it was more like the mazes in swtor, if you are going to do a maze- the jump to get the datacron side things can get downright entertaining; you can see it, but then you have to figure out how to get it, and it's pretty darn challenging at times.
all the 'puzzles' in this were dumbed down versions of ones I have seen before, elsewhere, done better.
(in some cases, a looong time before)
the zapping floor, for example.
the best version I saw had three possible solutions:
you could time the thing, and run it, by the pattern
you could, if you had the right skills, shoot out the transformers at the end of the room
or, if you were smart enough, you could crouch down, look under, and see the wiring.. take it out.
it wasn't just 'walk slowly in a straight line'
I'll admit, I may be asking too much.. I am an old dnd player...but other MMOs do a better job of making these sorts of things FUN, not annoying.
It's the same problem as the POVE ques... just making the enemy harder, with a random time limit, does not make it more challenging- it only encourages higher dps grinding.
I threw out an idea a few months ago, that the advanced ques instead of having random time limits , should have random mob spawns...
that would require people to think, and yes, play, not just spam the space bar
imagine if during a borg advanced the queen said 'resistance is futile' and a random ( I mean random ) mob of borg showed up? And we didn't know when or where?
yes, people would get killed.
but think of the bragging rights from taking down one of the vger borg, when it spawned in the middle of a borg space stf...
My only complaint is that the event is not lasting long enough. I just got the email on the 2nd while i was out of town. I can not miss a single day from now until the 26th of play or I will miss getting the 1000 items needed for the ship. The event needs to be extended to give a little wiggle room!

Not everyone nor the majority is in your situation.
If you dont have time, can always purchase the 1000 from the lobi. Instant gratification button.
Fortunately for me, i can spend a few mins everyday for the omega daily mission.
Or if you have leftovers from last years anniv tokens.
If you dont have the time nor refuse to get lobi or didnt plan since last year, dont expect the game to adjust to you.

You get 400 from running Dust to Dust and 40 for each daily run of the Omega Stabilisation. 440 on the first day leaves only 560 to get. At 40 per day that is 14 runs. Today is the 4th. If you ran it today and every day you'd have 8 days to spare (or you can take a day off every now and then and still have enough time). Alts can also get it for only 40 once you have it on one toon so a Daily or Dust to Dust run for them and you're golden.
As for wiggle room, they have had numerous server outages and had to sort out dailies not completing for people so you may get lucky...

This mission is like Of Bajor, you do it because you have to do it not because it is that fun to do over and over again.
If I could get the ship set without ever playing this mission again... I would, and like some, I may go in long enough just to get the only Command Boff currently available in game.

You can buy a spec manual on the exchange for Command. Thus you can make any Boff command.
When will you learn cryptic... When will you learn. In your rush to release this anniversary event, you have given us a horribly flawed mini game known as the Omega Particle mini game. When it doesn't arbitrarily abort out prematurely (which is often, and disproportionately higher on high population maps) it is likely to award the incorrect particle for the player's performance. I have scored 2600 (which i'm pretty sure is perfect, or only of by one or two bits) only to receive a trace. By contrast, I've scored less than 1500 and received an omega shard. I suspect the awards are point driven, but are inaccurately and erroneously awarded.
From what I understand, the Omega particles are designed to allow multiple players to interact with the same particle at the same time, and this is where both problems originate from. The game's programing logic relative to this is struggling to distinguish which player started which game and when (hence the games aborting out prematurely) and also which player achieved which score (explaining the inaccurate particle rewards). Would you please call over to Blizzard or any other reputable game design company and ask to borrow some real programmers to fix this logic issue before the event is over? And next time, could you please start the design process far enough in advance to actually test flow logic problems, not just syntax errors? These types of designs should also be load tested on a test server that carries a similar population to the server that they will be pushed to live and commercially. Tribble does NOT have a population comparable to Holodeck, so it should have been obvious that despite the identity logic being adequate on tribble, it might not (and probably would not) be adequate on a much heavier population server. The level of programmer and developer incompetence within your office never ceases to amaze me (and I was a commercial software developer in my youth, so I have room to talk). I challenge your company to prove my comments about your competency wrong, but I doubt your team will do that.

The error here is in your assumption. From what I've observed, higher scores only increase your odds of getting slivers/shards/etc. A high score is not a guarantee that you will get anything better than a trace.
Now the complaint about the minigame stopping, that's annoying, to be sure.
