Well, I was thinking about taking advantage of the ship sale, if this goes on for much longer, I'll just have to wait for the next one.
That is, Cryptic will have to wait for my $$ 'til the next one.
I too was going to spend ssome money for ship upgrades, i doubt we will get any compensation for the servers being down, since its not our problem, they should reward us with something at least.
so much for the offers, they should be extended on the very least to begin with.
Just my opinion though
Well ****....was almost ready to claim the T6 carrier, just needed a few more days and with work commitments looks like i'll be missing out on this by one day now.
Also was considering checking out the ship sale but I guess i'll be keeping my money.

Servers have been down for almost 2 hours. This is an exceptionally long time to have a server outage. How have the engineers not isolated the problem in 2 hours? Are you understaffed?
No, it's not.
And you do not need legions of IT folks to identify a problem.
They never tracked any IP addresses (good hacks rarely leave that kind of evidence) they discovered algorithems that were "veagly similar" to ones used by NK over a decade ago.
Plus would it really bother you that much if a bunch of americans were making fools of themselves in a movie based around a failed assassination attempt of you KJU probably laughed and ran to China.
Well if i thought most of the world would see it, yeah. I mean a burn in an mmo is one thing, to have a huge company and popular actors jump on a big spoof of me. Especially if I "reigned supreme" in my head as a dictator... I think that would be like asking hitler how he would react to the Allies making fun of him in movies. Not hard to imagine how that would go.
2nd answer, as I am, no, it sounds like a political statement about an out of control leader, and the one chance the US took to do something about it and they botched it. So I kinda let that one fall under freedom of speech, self expression, that whole bit.
edit: (though not the first time sony's been TRIBBLE, might just be the trending thing right now too, idk)
i have been playing this game for about 2 months just to find they spend more time TRIBBLE up the game than fixing it and the game is down more than it can be played this is really sad and glad im not part of this epic failure team.i would be very suprized if the could keep the game running for 3 days

Translation: Looks like today is indeed a lost cause.

Sooo nice to get updates!
Scotty: Do you mind a little advice? Starfleet captains are like children. They want everything right now and they want it their way. But the secret is to give them only what they need, not what they want. Geordi: Yeah, well, I told the Captain I'd have this analysis done in an hour. Scotty: How long will it really take? Geordi: An hour! Scotty: Oh, you didn't tell him how long it would *really* take, did ya? Geordi: Well, of course I did. Scotty: Oh, laddie. You've got a lot to learn if you want people to think of you as a miracle worker.
Kirk: How long to re-fit? Scotty: Eight weeks. But you dont have eight weeks, so Ill do it for you in two. Kirk: Do you always multiply your repair estimates by a factor of four? Scotty: How else to maintain my reputation as a miracle worker? Kirk: Your reputation is safe with me.
literally millions of people are using the net to call their friends and family. It has been slow all day.
I wish you all a happy new year, and the best medication for your gaming addiction
That aside, i am very sure, it will work again tomorrow, when all the skype calls seize.

I do have a few characters on that game I have not played in some time. Perhaps I'll log on there for my gaming time today. SWTOR does story content much better. But the Star Trek universe is so much awesome.
Also the Captain America comic book from issue #1 on. The creators got death threats and where under NYPD protect it seems. They kept publishing anti-Hitler stories even so.
It cracks me up that a lot of you who are complaining have those "DR is da best etc etc etc lel so TRIBBLE" signatures. You put up a big front, but you're acting like junkies banging on the dealer's door trying to get your fix of STO.
Kinda defeats the purpose of your signatures and endless whining.

I took this advice to heart when I was young. I remember these conversations clear as day. It was such a revelation to me that you could just tell people it will take longer to do things and always have stuff done early instead of giving a legitimate estimate and suffering when setbacks push back a deadline.
This is something game devs need to learn. Their initial release dates are always too soon, and either they push it back and upset fans, or release an unfinished game and upset fans. Devs should always add 6 months to their actual desired release date, and if they finish early, they can polish and run an extended open beta to really root out bugs.

Hmm weird, you must not be playing the same game as me. On STO I usually don't have an issue with the game being down very often. I don't think Ive ever played a game that didn't have its fair share of bugs.
Been playing a little longer than you and I know STO is a lot better than most of the games I've played. PWE games included.
I will say this for cryptic. STO is a LOT less problematic than 99% of the games I get from Steam. I'm so tired of having to do research on display, GUI, etc issues.

Or... we DO like the game, it has a huge scope and a lot of potential but it's management is ... lacking at times. Personally I wish they'd taken that "voyager season 8" funding they used in DR and put it into testing and not TRIBBLE up my loadouts. just saying...

Nah they just need to step up and pay their bills.
