ok so i have been playing now for like two years and i am tired of the game. i just saw a email asking if i want a T-6 intrepid. i have three of those all ready can i please get a con. i am tired of the same next gen ships getting recycled. the new ships are cool but what i wanted was a con not a intrepid. i will not play the game till i have the option to buy a T-6 con. you guys want $$$ then get me a ship. till then its cold wallet time.
I doubt you'll see it; but you might be able to get a T6 Excalibur Class Variant that has the same profile as the Constitution Class Refit if you push for it. It's the classic space frame with a TNG appearance which is probably the closest you'll get.
Im not against a T6 Constitution. However it make no sense a a cruiser. It is just too small. If anything you would have to refit it as an escort and I just dont see that happening.
The Tier 2 Cruiser is the only Tier 2 Federation ship that doesn't have a Fleet counterpart. If we go by CBS' declaration of no Endgame Constitution, then that would mean no Constitution Refit as well. However, the solution is simple by just removing the Constitution Refit from the list of viable Fleet Cruiser Retrofit classes.
While I would have preferred there to be no Fleet Science Vessel Retrofits or Fleet Escort Retrofits, they exist and the Fleet Cruiser Retrofit should exist as well without the Constitution Refit class available.
Has anyone actually gone to the CBS building in Burbank CA. and asked them nicely if we could have an up to date connie in the game? I'd go but have no idea who to ask for. Its just a couple blocks east of Warner Bros. where I work at.
I'll be honest, Im kinda wondering if CBS really did say that. Is there a source on the CBS official who supposedly said this?

Dan Stahl says that's what they said. He has no reason to lie or scapegoat them when they have a good working relationship with CBS, and considering they've 100% had the technological capability and financial incentive to create an end-game Connie, there's honestly no reason to believe this isn't the case.

Does it really matter if they gave you a source? People would still complain and say that they want it.
Bottom line is that we aren't gonna get an end-game Connie. Ever. Make peace with that and move on. Or don't. Just stop making rule breaking threads asking for it.
It's not myfault ifyoufeel trolledbymyDisco ball...Sorry'boutit.

Yes it would matter. Because then I would have a point of contact I could ask myself. And if that point of contact wouldn't want to talk to an underling like me, I know some execs at my own studio who they would talk to for me.
No offense dude, but I like having names of people who have claimed to say things. For all we know CBS's stance could have changed or an alteration to the agreement could be reached. As for making a rule breaking thread, the OP has a point. People associate a constitution class ship with star trek. The majority want that.
Yeah, cuz we all know about Cryptic's stubborn refusal to fleece the players wallets by constantly refusing to sell things players would throw money at hand over fist.
There are actually a ton of things cryptic could sell that arent even ship related that people would want. I'm really starting to think they don't have a functional marketing department.
End Game Constitution Class ship
The answer to the T5 connie ship has been a no for 4 years and that answer comes from CBS. As such, there will not be a T5 constitution class ship in STO. This also means that any version of the ship will not be available as an End game ship. Exert from a Q&A with DStahl & from the livestream by Smirk -
I think Askray or someone said somewhere a while back that they will deleting any T5 connie threads from now on because we have been given an answer on it many times already.

Maybe they aren't at liberty to say who at cbs made that decisions, or maybe they don't even know.
If you have some kind of connection to find out then by all means use it, but it's not likely to change anything.
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind getting a t5/6 Connie at some point myself, but if it has gotten to the point that we have been told outright to stop asking then you have to conclude that it's just not gonna happen.
As for the OP having a point, that doesn't really matter. End-game Connie thread are not allowed no matter how iconic the ship is or how many people want it.

Yup we've been told out right many many times... I get that and heard you and everyone else the first time. But when has cryptic ever come back and said "Hey guys its the end of 2014, and we asked CBS and they said no again"... That one statement from them would put an end to most (not all but most) of these threads.. I've worked at a movie studio for a long time, mine might be CBS, but with Warner and Universal and even Disney, things do change and never stay the same. Even if the answer is still NO, an updated "NO" would go a long way with people.
I think the whole reason why we can't have a Tier 5/6 constitution is because of two reasons. One, the JJ-verse is using the ship now. Two, the ship class has been pretty much decommissioned from further production by the ship yards since the Enterprise-A got decommissioned. What we see with the Tier 2 ships are simply mothballed versions that have been deployed as a last minute need for ships.
So please, just let this rest and accept that we're never getting an endgame Constitution. We have plenty of other ships that can be given the treatment of Tier 6.
The contact man between CBS and Cryptic is John Van Citters as far as I know, unless it has changed.
As other have said, Cryptic is not shy at all about getting every penny they can out of the playbase. There is zero reason they wouldn't sell us a T5 or 6 Connie if they could. Believing anything else is going pretty far into tinfoil hat territory.
Comments
We have even more ancient:
ENT era Xindi Escorts
ENT era Narcine Carrier
ENT era Vulcan D'Kyr
ENT era Andorian Escorts
... All at endgame!
We've also got Starfleet, KDF, Romulan captains that fly in non-faction ships!
And the best yet? You can fly Species 8472 Bioships
But don't you dare ask about endgame Connies and Mirandas! Those ships are immersion breaking!
But rises again harder and stronger!
Then stop playing it.
No
Don't buy them. You're sick of the game anyway, so luckily it's a moot point.
And I want a forum where people stop making the same silly demands. Looks like neither of us are getting what we want.
It's time for you to uninstall STO.
Take care.
So when can I expect to get my T7 Miranda????
Better yet, can we get a T8 NASA Space Shuttle Enterprise?
While I would have preferred there to be no Fleet Science Vessel Retrofits or Fleet Escort Retrofits, they exist and the Fleet Cruiser Retrofit should exist as well without the Constitution Refit class available.
or gets it's TRIBBLE cut off

Well, if we get a T5 Connie that can't be Fleet or T5U, it isn't technically endgame anymore is it.
It was posted here as an official answer http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1162461

Simple! Because they are used to handling galactic trash. :P
