People are now worshipping the developers, complimenting their effort and have completely stopped posting negative posts.

Just like with DR they are obviously in total control of the situation and there is nothing desperate about that or the stuff they come up with

you know, I think someone recently asked "How much more can PW TRIBBLE this up?" then they come along and impose a 300 second gag order on us... without explaining anything. When the mods and admins were asked, they ignored it. Once the question was repeated across every thread they posted in, they disappeared.

Please, don't tempt them to make it even worse... although I'm curious to see if they can swing the axe and miss the neck again. It's like how they butchered the execution of Thomas Cromwell.

I have a feeling that like a lot of this, the higher-ups at Cryptic decided to attempt to solve a PEOPLE problem with a technical solution. There seems to be a real disconnect on the human relations piece. We're not bugs to squash or code away.

What I think they intended was to reduce the workload on the mods, but what they have in practice caused is a chilling effect.

On the chance that they did not understand exactly what they were doing and why it is a bad idea when poorly communicated like everything else in Delta Rising, I am going to post this article for reference.

Sorry but saying it doesn't make it true and no amount of moderator gymnastics can erase peoples memories.
Antics like this just make Cryptic more of a laughing stock and underscore the fact that they just aren't up to the task of managing this intelligently.
This whole thing is a farce, from a game that has little to do with Star Trek now to all of the class A screwups, I can't take these people seriously anymore and I certainly have no interest in giving them another dime. It's kind of sad that I get more entertainment watching Cryptic's self destructive blunders then I could ever get playing the game now.
This timer thing is the latest but I'm sure it's not going to be the last.

I'm sorry, cupcake, but it did not work. Let me enlighten you. They most definitely got irritated by the five minute wait between posts (which effectively means they can only post 12x in an hour) and took their complaints to other social media sites, where Cryptic has no control at all and will find they've created yet another collosal mess for themselves within days of the last one. The level of ineptitude at that company is truly painful to watch from the sidelines...and yet, entertaining and awe inspiring. It's like a deer staring at headlights!

Seriously, why make us wait so long to post. It's not like people are going to stop posting their opinions or making posts about nothing. If anything, I feel like this will only antagonize posers into make more ridiculous posts so that they have something to do during the 300 seconds. Idleness isn't necessarily a good thing. I really do hope this time gate changes, but I get the feeling it won't.
