one of my three nephews has some serious mental problems and its going to take full time work to help him, hes just past the toddler stage of his life and its just happened like that, as if it was a switch that just went from typical boy of 5 to what he is now. poor kid doesnt know what he is doing and is abundantly apparent that parental care isnt helping as he has already killed two kittens at my sisters place.

so i can relate because ive grown up with mental issues myself ever since, struggling to understand humanity in any shape or form is difficult at best and families in the usa i dunno but i suspect it could cost a pretty penny for private therapy and special schools to help them and california area seems likes its an expensive place to be.

i dunno if i have the funds to put into something like this, but i will see if i can.

Why should we donate to a hospital, which is in long term dispute with it's Residents, over among other things the Hospitals refusal to contribute to a Patient Care Fund? Pick a beter recipient than
    UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland.

i hope he can, but he will be struggling like mad throughout his early life to understand. it depends what the issue is really and what can be done to help him.

    I will be there.

And so will those that I have helped, or tried to help throughout my life.

From one that measured just 2 points under "acceptable", to one that is a mathematical wizard with physical disabilities. Others I have seen and have been in my life... This needs not just donations, but a change in the attitude of the general population.

Ok, signed up on extralife and joined the perfectworld team with my own signup. now where do we put our @handle name for the goodies and does anything that gets donated from our pipeline go directly to perfectworlds account, as it should hopefully?

I see on the blog the details for the $500 and $1,337 prizes, but sadly, those are way out of my price range. I might be able to contribute something, but I'm curious what other prizes are offered at the lower tiers. Please update the blog.

Yes, I'm interested in the $50 and $100 rewards, especially if they are STO in-game items.

I've been away from the game for a year+ and am trying to gear up 5 different alts so anything from ships to R&D stuff to master keys, or ...? would help.

Here's an idea that seems unlikely: offer the full DR pack for a $250(?) donation. I need T6 ships, Extra Life needs donations, win-win.

That's a good question. I know some people who would like to donate but don't come to these forums for various reasons. Where would they send their @handle and what game they play to once they donate?

I would assume they would give their handle and game in the note to PWE when donating.

That's my guess too but it would be nice to have the blog updated to say so.

Also, I'm still hoping they'll get around to adding a list of the STO in-game swag for donating. I need that extra bit of motivation to open my wallet :)

Remember, when making a donation through our PWE ExtraLife Donation Page, please include the statement that you play STO, along with your in-game @handle, along with a contact email address. This information will remain private and will not be available for public disclosure. This information will be needed to get your in-game rewards to your account.

I gave a donation earlier, but did not post a handle. The email address is the one associated with my STO and PWE account.

$50 for 500 zen and some wallpapers? seriously? I know this is for a good cause, but I also know you throw these incentives out there to further encourage the more greedy "What's in it for me" players to donate. Not very encouraging to offer only $5 worth of zen for $50. Also not improving the current opinion about Cryptic's money grabbing obsession of late.

I will not let the childish acts of a criminal ruin this game for me.

Look...I am not happy with what Cryptic has done on the gaming end but I really think the charity effort--which is NOT just Cryptic, it's been a thing on lots of MMO's and gaming venues during this time (because that's when Extra Life does its main donation drive: read here on Extra Life's site for a full description)--should not be dragged into it.

At risk of sounding flip, I'd rather people donate and let God sort out the motivations (and to be honest I suspect that people's hearts are generally in the right place on a thing like this :) ). I don't feel I am in a position to judge or criticize people who are giving to a good cause. I don't have that information or know someone's character in that sort of intimate manner.

I apologize for sounding upset. It is just my personal feeling that a charity effort should not end up being collateral damage here. :(

It begs the question and I'm not seeing it anywhere, and nobody else is asking, what are the goal percentage rewards of which two every player will get?

What can people look forward too? I'm itching to know!
