You do not need to be level 15 to upgrade, just 15 to create superior parts.

Crafting has nothing to do with upgrading itself, it's just that you can craft upgrade kits or buy them from someone else.

    A curious surprise...

It's probally an attempt to actually get people to log into the game again lol.

I pretty much stopped doffing after they screwed it up where it takes about 5 mins per character for doff assignments to complete and then stopped doing daily crafting stuff after news of X2 lol.

This event really isn't worth me taking the time to login tho lol.

I'm so glad I have each character focusing on one particular school of crafting, almost level 13 in all the schools. And I will be turning as much attention as possible to upgrading my one primary character.

actually as the father of a newborn baby, not even 3 weeks old, it works well for me. I log a character in, and while I wait for all the projects to cycle, I have enough time to give him a bottle and change his diaper.

    it's what I call multitasking.

To confirm - the "early" release of upgrading .75 hits with tomorrow's patch - or did it go live earlier than that and we're just not seeing it...
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

I was talking about claiming the free items..... nothing to do with crafting or cycling anything. And congrats to the new baby. :)

I havnt played much lately, about to start playing big time. Havnt got into the new crafting yet or even looked over the systems. So can having different toons in different schools craft gear for each other, no restrictions, the way my main toon was the sugar daddy to all my other toons in the old system.

Ive only got 4 Feds, 1 Romulan, and 1 Klingon. Can my Feds craft gear for my Klink?

    Of course, gear isn't faction-locked. :)

Yes. Each character can craft for others. And you can trade it to your other characters, put it in storage, or sell it on the exchange, or even mail it to another person for free.

Having it early won't soften the blow much, it's still going to be one huge dil sink. They aren't giving any free dil so the worst part still stands.

If you can't solve it logically, solve it like a moron.

51 + 1 Foundry Character Slots is NOT enough. Some of us love our characters. If I want to buy more character slots, why can't I? I couldn't experience the entire Delta Recruitment event without deleting a character.

The Iconians themselves can't time travel because their memories revert, but there is nothing to say an Iconian couldn't write everything she needed to do on a PADD, pin it to herself, travel back, read the PADD, do the tasks and return. Or just get one of her Non-Herald underlings to go back in time for her.

Want a Star Trek themed starship command fan-made Board Game that isn't fiendishly complicated but not so easy it's a joke? Download mine for free here. https://roebot56.deviantart.com/art/BOARD-GAME-R56-s-Starship-Command-STAR-TREK-Edn-682732468 A Stargate version of the game is available from a link in the description.

Oh yeah, I do Foundry missions for both KDFs and Feds. Just search KSTF (Short for Kinas Special Task Force, where Kinas is the name of the Admiral you will be serving under). The earlier ones are less story based and more combat based, while the later ones have a much heavier story element, but keep the large battles.
