So they just "found" plans for this thing laying around in the middle of nowhere? That's really the best excuse you could come up with?
Yeah, you'd think all that data that Voyager brought back would be enough. I mean, it helped Starfleet to reverse engineer slipstream drives and ships designed around it, at which point the only difference between the Vesta and the Dauntless is their hull configuration.
And they couldn't gleam that from Voyager logs? Come on!

OMG YES!!!!!! :D You're getting my money Cryptic :P. Always wanted this ship ingame, really chuffed now! :)

WOW!! They are bringing out the Dauntless, I never thought they'd actually do it  I'm buying it as soon as they offer it individually in the Zen store! (Edit: my main concern isn't the looks but size. According to the DITL the Dauntless has a crew of about 150, which would make it smaller than the Long Range Science Vessel or Voyager-class.)

PS Manfred is a German male name, so... nope. But I'll see you ingame (maybe PvP, lol)

Oh and in case anyone wonders why the ship looks like an ugly 800 pound N.Z. giant squid:

    Pay attention Crypic...

Give me this ship via the C-Store and you have my money. Simple as that.

    :)

Put a cloaking divice on the ship and I'll love you too.

Combine this ships unique console with my photonic tricks and watch the players attacking me readily curse me...while I laugh. Science for the win!

    Cryptic,

For those that play the majority of the time as Federation characters, I am sure they are excited with the news of another ship included into the Delta pack. And for them I am truly happy.

However, I enjoy playing the majority of the time as Romulan characters. I was stoked to buy the Romulan expansion pack, and if the Cardassian expansion pack had have come out during this release, I would have bought that to, as I really would like to see the "secondary factions" in STO come online.

However, as much as I would like to support STO, I find that I can simply not part with $124USD plus tax, to get 2 ships, that I will actually fly.:(

So what would sell me on getting the pack? If I knew that another 2 Romulan ships would be added to the Pack, so that the Romulan (and the same should go for the Klingons) have at least 1 ship of each class at the new tier 6 level. These ships do not have to be made available at launch, but even the promise they will be added asap after launch would suffice.

I was hoping this ship would make an appearance. Way to go on twisting my arm a little more for buying the pack. Now I just need to not eat for a few weeks so I can afford it! :D

Is it just me, or does it look like that they just took a Star Cruiser, made the saucer wayy too big and then made the hull and nacelles wayy too small? Im not a major trek fan but is it suppose to look like this?

Yes, actually.. and you know.. >> Google << is an invaluable tool that could have addressed your question more than adequately...

It looks AWFUL! You would think, by this time of age, they could done a little better, on the style of these Fed ships. But, that's just me. To me, the T5 Ships looks a lot better than the T6.

    Particle Synthesis?

Why not go with the proper Name? It's just an updated Holographic Cloaking Device that was used in "Star Trek: Away Team" on the USS Incursion...

And I am more curious as to when it comes to the C-Store as a Single Purchase.

It is interesting to see that each new expansion or season brings out new ranters who no one has seen or heard of before.

Of course not, don't be silly.

Cryptic will go back to releasing only FED and Lockbox/Lobi ships after DR launches. I imagine these two ships for KDF and two for ROM will be the only faction-specific T6 ships. Heck, if anything, I'd expect a new ship for the ROM first than for the KDF.

I'm constantly saying this, but seriously, just count how many ships did the KDF get over the last two and a half years. Especially ones that weren't a blatant copy-paste of a FED ship in terms of stats.

And even the Fleet Guramba, promissed almost two years ago, is nowhere to be seen, with no current plans to release it.

I wouldn't be surprised if they quietly reduced the KDF and Rom ships back down to 1 just so they could release even more Fed ships  I was surprised they said they were doing more than one for either of them. It must have been a clerical error. If you want the red-headed step child experience, just play KDF or Rom. No favoritism here

Okay, I know it wouldn't have all the bells and whistles from the Delta Pack or the C-Store etc, but wouldn't it be cool if there was a Temporal Ambassador-esque episode with a free Dauntless, like we got the Ambassador class?

You could have it be the Species 116 version, imitating a Starfleet Vessel and then let Klingons and Romulans use it too, since it wouldn't be the proper version.

Oh wow! Another federation ship.... So shocking-- I didn't see that coming.....

    Friendly reminder to STO devs/staff/mods/whatever:

Other factions are in the game. Kay, later....
The dress is gold and white. Over 70% people says so. When viewed from a certain screen angle it appears blue and black. The dress displayed on amazon is a blue and black dress, but it's not the same dress in the picture. If you're seeing blue & black you're slightly colored blind. A normal upright screen = white and gold.

Just word of caution PWE, the other day I was playing LOTRO and in general chat there was much rumbling about fear that LOTRO would get sold to EA, until someone piped up in general chat "could be worse, they could sell it to PWE" the uproar that caused should make you guys think twice about your business practices, to be despised worse than EA, thats an achievement. The paygate routine may work in specific markets that have been nickle and dimed for decades but many of your games are played in other markets where people dont apperciate being drained of their money for every thing they want to do in game.

Sorry, but I have to jump in here. As crappy as it is that when they finally had almost all canon ships available at endgame they introduce a new tier, it's not half as bad as LOTRO. I tried playing it, and you can do almost nothing without paying real money.

Ah... well... I don't understand why but hey, if it is like that, then we can't do much, huh?

Because of licensing. Cryptic is not allowed to use things created by other game companys.

Example: you create a neelix destroyer gun for your own star trek game. Then cryptic isn't allowed to use the name neelix destroyer gun for their game. Or you alow it but then cryptic has to pay a licence fee to you.

You're right. The work here is very important.

That's what it was called in the Episode of Voyager this ship appeared in

Yep while it looks nice the decision to have it added to the already top heavy federation seems a very strange decision without fleshing out the Rom's or klingon's a bit more.

I'm still not seeing the worth in getting this pack atm as i play as a romulan.

Every company has to pay licence fee to the Star Trek owners (a TV Show and a film company).
    They can use it.

It depends if a company Is willing to pay a lot for something to an other company, or if you build a similar thing on your own and change the name.
