I'm just happy the ship is in the game. It's one of the nicer looking ships and I liked the way it entered slipstream in the show, wish they would add that effect to the game.

    -Slipstream Sequence-

Would be nice if the developers add that to STO. In ST Voyager which QSD was faster, Dauntless or Voyager's version of QSD?

probably Dauntless. That ship was actually built to use it. The one on Voyager was improvised out of spare parts.

Did Voyager's version of QSD have Borg modifcations added?, Still can not find any details on the Hyper-Advanced Quantum Slipstream Drive. Also have the develops decided to changed the bridge officer layouts?

Captains! We're happy to announce that the Dauntless Class Experimental Science Vessel has been added to the Delta Rising: Operations Pack for anyone that has already purchased the pack or purchases the pack moving forward. Read more about it in our latest blog by Lead Producer, Stephen “Salami Inferno” Ricossa!

Check it out in our blog here!

While I like this ship and I'm glad to see it in the game, although with that said. I don't see why this is a fed only ship. It was an alien species that created it and it would be nice to have a sci ship available to KDF and Romulan Republic. Also why can't it be accessible to Romulan Captains siding with the feds?

Is there any point in the developers increasing the timer on QSD? As with current QSD you can travel very fast and cover the sector space but now for some reason you can not continue quantum slipstream travel as you enter the next sector like you use to in the past. What do you all think will be different about Dauntless' QSD?

The only difference between the new QSD and the current one may be the the speed and the effect it gives

If I recall correctly Smirk mentioned in his live stream that with one charge of QSD he was able to go from K7 to DS9 (crossing 3 different sector blocks). If this is true it would mean that:

    - Slipstream drive remains active after switching sector blocks
    - the turn rate is high enough to make considerable course changes
    - speed and/or duration is very high

The problem here is even if the points above are true this does not change the positioning bug after your ship entered a new sector block ( after entering a new sector block from the "west" your ship suddendly faces south for example). Unless the turnrate is ideed very high you will have to deactivate your QSD to reposition your ship.

Another possiblity is that QSD doesn't have any CD (or a very short one). But this would be inconsisten with Smirks claim.

Could the developers make the galaxy with no walls in the game? This way space travel will be more easy transition.

I agree with this but this may not be doable at the moment

i have been curious, ever sense I saw this ship, the specs would have to have been pulled from somewhere in

    #1 Borg Space
    #2 A Borg Vessel
#3 some debris in Borg Space
#4 on a hidden area/base designed by the alien to create "The Dauntless" lure

    sorry had to ask

    edit (sorry lol)

or like who discovered the specs, romulan, federation, klingon?
what was the ship name that recovered it?
    who was it's captain
what part of the Delta Quadrant near what system?

Awesome Ship, but the intel about it is not even close to the vaguest episode's (any series) "explored discovery", i was hopping around and i could not find anything more on it ... :(

lol, thought about that, if they used Voyager's scans, it would have been added to STO pre/post launch

I'm going with the shipyard version. It's possible that the ship was built on that race's HW, but.... not necessarily. Also, Arturis wasn't the only survivor of his race. Apparently there was around 20k survivors.

yeah it would be nice to learn more, but... It was probably someone in military intelligence who was sneaking around using the best cloaks money can buy. :P

I don't buy the idea that Voyager had enough data to recreate the ship. If they had that much data then they would have had far less difficulty making their own QSS, and also they would have been able to duplicate the particle synthesis tech Arturis used. In light of that, they clearly did NOT have enough data to recreate it.

They have said no, it's an engine limitation.

    1) It could be possible that the crew of Voyager did get all the information on the Dauntless it was because the limitations of Voyager that they could not stay in the slipstream tunnel.
    2) Maybe something was missing from when Voyager's crew was exploring Daunltess database
    3) Arturis my have deleted an important piece of information on Quantum slipstream travel.
    4) The specifications discovered is in more detail than the specifications on the Dauntless itself.

Developers we would like more details on this and on the hyper-advanced quantum slipstream drive.

I highly doubt it. That would essentially be recreating a game.

If they have enough money, surely the developers could do that and then transfer our accounts over to the new STO. I think in the long term this is the best option to take after they full reached the limits on this gaming engine. They could do a lot more stories, add new things, change how we pilot the ships, animations and more.

Yeah but you see the issues the game has at the moment it will mean more time and more money than Cryptic and PWE overlords will want to spend
