Q: Will Fleet variants of the Intel ships be available at Delta Rising launch?
A: Fleet Intel starships will be released sometime after Delta Rising launch.
Ok. I've missed that page. But my point remains valid. If T6 ships can be upgraded to fleet stats and T5U ships cannot why should anybody even consider to upgrade their T5 ships?
It still provides a lot of versatility and options to intel ships. And if you're wrong, that's up to 7 extra Boff powers per intel ship over T5-whatever ships.
If I am wrong it would be 14 Boff slots instead of 13, as his interpretation seems to be that each Intel Boff grants a single special Boff ability.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

Because it'll be cheaper? Because T5U's encompass some of players favorite and iconic ships? Because so far all Lockbox ships will only max out at T5U?
I could go on.
You're just a machine. And machines can be broken.
Maybe not, but fleet T5 ships can be upgraded to fleet 5U. (They've even said that it's a separate upgrade for fleet and nonfleet ships, but it's still an account wide unlock.)
Are you sure they didn't mean that you can upgrade your FLEET T5 ship to T5U for less zen than it costs to upgrade a T5 to T5U? Because I've never heard of a Fleet T5U ship....
If fleet T6 ships get the same treatment that fleet T5 ships get (+10% more hull/shields, +1 console), they will be superior to any kind of T5 ship. There is no wiggle room anymore.
It appears T6 Intel ships will have TWO extra Boff powers available over any T5U ships...
Unless I missed something... it's only one... T5U ships have 12 Boff powers and these ships have 13. Some lockbox ships have 13 now. The difference is the two hybrid slots will have more options (intelligence powers) to slot but still only 13 abilities to use.

We’re very excited to announce our brand new Intel starships. These new ships are sleek, agile, and deadly! Systems Designer Phil "Gorngonzolla" Zeleksi gives a breakdown on all the new intel ships coming in Delta Rising!
Ummm, aren't we missing stats on a few ships? Namely the Guardian, MaHa and Aelhal?
There will clearly be more Blogs in the coming days.

Okay, so in comparison to the Qib the Eclipse has less hull, less turn and a normal cloak vs battlecloak.
Now I don't think the eclipse should get a battlecloak, but it should at the very least have the same hull and turn. At the very least, given it can't cloak in the middle of a fight.

It's 13, the intel boff ability takes the place of the career ability. On tribble before they hid it, you could see how you could retrain your intel boff skills to replace other skills but it still took the place of an existing ability.

Hmmm...I'm not convinced by the 'competitive' claim. Playable yes, but not competitive. I'm reconsidering whether it is even worth upgrading to Tier5U now. Not all that much fun paying to be hamstrung.
That's how much the expansion pack costs. I want to know a per-ship price. Unless you're suggesting the ships won't be in the C-Store, which I can't see happening.

We probably will not know a per-ship price until after it Launches and the Pack sale ends and the individual ships are added to the C-Store. That is some 5 weeks from now.

Honestly, (IMO) any T5U ship is effectively obsolete given the combination of all the extra abilities the newer T6 ships will have. WTG Cryptic.
Perhaps. After going over someone's list of T5-Upgrades, I came to the conclusion that it may be time to leave. I think it is most likely time to leave. My family has spent around $500-$600 on 'Star Trek: Online'. While I didn't like some of the game's mechanics, I did end up enjoying the feature episodes, Omega rep system, socializing, clothing options, and a few T5 ships.
I no longer view 'Star Trek: Online' as a free2play game. Since all of the game's stores have become expensive, the ability to casually buy something is not possible. I feel too pressured into buying stuff. While Cryptic is not forcing me to do anything, the expensive nature of the game has become overwhelming. If I am not hit by the ec-exchange prices, I am hit buy the c-store, rep system, fleet holdings, and lobi store prices. I feel very cornered. I need to remove myself from the equation.
T6 ships are going to cost around $30-$35.
T5-Upgrades will cost around $10-$15.
Before I actually do walk out the door, I am going to check out the new leveling system. Unless cryptic gives me a reason to stick around, I do not see myself lingering for that much longer.
Cryptic should be happy, for they made around $500 off of me.
That's how much the expansion pack costs. I want to know a per-ship price. Unless you're suggesting the ships won't be in the C-Store, which I can't see happening.
Well, one thing is for certain, they won't be cheaper than T5 ships. My guess is probably more. Not that it makes any difference in production cost if a ship is T1 or T6, but that's a secret, tell no one.
Whelp, that's official. I do not feel taken care of in regards to my upgradable T5 ships. The official comment that that Jem'hadar attack ship would upgrade to "Tier 6 capabilities" was untrue. The T6 13th boff power upgrades what would be a lieutenant station on a current T5 ship into a lieutenant commander station. An extra lt. cmd. boff power is far more powerful than an extra console and 10% more hull and shields. On top of that the blog confirms T6 fleet ships will be coming. Yes, 13 boff power, 11 console, +10% hull and shild T6 ships are coming.
What I have leanred from this blog is as follows:
1) Upgrading any current T5 9 console ship that is upgradeable is a waste of money.
2) Fleet level Tier 5 ships upgrades are substandard to Tier 6 ships.
3) I have not been taken care of reguarding my current T5 ships, contrary to dev assurances.
4) Lockbox & lobi ships (the Jem'Hadar Attack Ship in particular as noted here) do not upgrade to Tier 6 capabilities.
In order to keep previous dev statements true I suggest the following:
1) T5U ships stay as is, but the 13th boff power on T6 ships be moved from upgrading a lieutenant station to upgrading an ensign station or adding an additional ensign station. OR
2)T6 ships stay as is but T5U ships gain a 13th boff power.
Because it'll be cheaper? Because T5U's encompass some of players favorite and iconic ships? Because so far all Lockbox ships will only max out at T5U?
I could go on.
Well lockbox ships will be upgraded for free. Regular T5s won't be. From a nostalic point of view I totally understand that people may want to fly their old T5 ships. But as soon as fleet T6 ships are relased our T5Us will lack behind significantly. Less hull and shield hit points, only 11 console slots instead of 12. Adding all those new intelligence abilities and starship traits to the equation makes it quite unattractive to fly a T5U ship in the future.
This adds to my suspicion that T5s, even T5Us are meant to disapear slowly but steadily at least in endgame.
Seriously whose idea was it for the exposes to stack time? Show me them so I can punch them in the dachshund.
If you're stacking duration, only the longest duration effect should work- so 5 sec left, and a 10 sec applies, 10sec supercedes the 5secs. Or at worst, applies for 50% of value. So 5secs left, and a second applies, you get 10 secs left. IF a third applies you get 15 secs, not 20 secs.
Because really an all intel team could just expose a target for 50 seconds, and that is stupid.
That's how much the expansion pack costs. I want to know a per-ship price. Unless you're suggesting the ships won't be in the C-Store, which I can't see happening.
Especially since the blog says this:
Availability: C-Store

Okay, let me see if I have this right, because this was a bit confusing at first.
If a tactical/intel boff is seated in a hybrid tactical/intel commander boff seat, it will only make their intelligence abilities available, and not both (because that would definitely be crazy). I can also seat a regular tactical officer in this seat, which will only make their tactical abilities available. And if I seat a tactical/intel boff in a non-hybrid tactical seat, it will only make their tactical abilities available.
What about ground? How does that work? Will they be using all 8 abilities on the ground, or just 4 from tactical or intel? Or can we choose which abilities are "active?"

My guess is that you just have the option to train their abilities from two pools of skills.

The KDF ship is technically a cruiser so more engineering. If there was a Intel Bop you'd get 5.

Both of these sound wrong. It should only have 13 BOFF slots, It appears you duplicated the LCDR engeneer station.
Science abilities should boost the exotic damage...ie: science abilities like grav well...
May want to fix this fast

That's what it always says with all ships, it includes heavy dual cannons.

EDIT: Ah, having re-read I see these 3 aren't intel ships. That's what you get for posting without reading the blogs properly
I think those are not intel ships, "just" T6.
Now I don't think the eclipse should get a battlecloak, but it should at the very least have the same hull and turn. At the very least, given it can't cloak in the middle of a fight.
