Don't suppose it occurred to you that there may have been people who were adults when the show was on?
I'm pretty sure those adult got horny after ogling 7of9 in that catsuit which makes them horny teenagers at heart..
Still not a thankful job those make such changes.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
i think the facial designs for 7 of 9 and harry kim need another pass through, they dont look anything like their originals.
Seven definitely doesn't look quite right, and though Kim is a bit better still seems a little off as far as the character model... the others are good, though of course Tuvok already appears in STO so they probably had more time to work on him. I suppose Kim could be chalked up to aging. Seven... doesn't look like Seven in the shows (if her remaining Borg implants halted her aging) or Jeri Ryan as she does now (if her remaining Borg implants and/or medical advancements had slowed her aging), and still not the approximate age of 60* (if her remaining Borg implants and/or medical advancements had provided no visual benefit as far as aging).
Okay, I'm overthinking it, but Seven doesn't look that much like Seven... other than the catsuit, of course.
* She was assimilated at age 6 and spent 18 years as a drone, added to Voyager's crew at the end of Season 3/beginning of Season 4, of the 7 Season/7 year journey (though each Season didn't always work out as a single year, I'm ballparking), then add the following 32 year intervening time frame... about 60 years old.
One Federation expert on the Borg who did not agree with Starfleet Command's decision was former task force leader Seven of Nine. She left her role with Starfleet in protest of the decision and accepted an offer to continue her research at the Daystrom Institute. When pressed by the Federation News Service for comment, the former Borg said "The Borg will return. If the Federation is not prepared, it will be their end."
...but we never actually dealt with either the Daystrom Institute or Seven of Nine during our characters' efforts to organize and participate in Task Force Omega. It will be interesting to see what sorts of developments the Daystrom Institute has made while we were dragging in salvage (back before the Rep conversion ) from our battles with the Borg...
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.
Would've prefer a fellow hot-head B'Elanna in here too... but this makes me as a Voyager show devotee happy to see. Just wishing they'd do away with 7 of 9 'catsuit' and give her real clothes instead. <.<

Is the story going to be addressing starfleet's abandonment of the drone rescue programme and Sevens consequent departure? I assume something is going to have to happen to pull her back from Daystrom.

I have a feeling it will, considering that first STF in the Delta Quadrant involves rescuing freed Borg drones.

I agree that though she looks nice in the catsuit /creeper wink that she looks just as good wearing Starfleet issue. Like the Voyager episode Relativity where she went back in time to stop Capt Braxton. She had to wear the Starfleet issue uniform with the blue color and she was posing as a Utopia Planitia technician. If they can get her in game face to look more like her then a change of uniform would be nice. But if they cant get it the face quite right i'm ok with her keeping the same catsuit. At least that way people know it's her (though her hair is also kinda a giveaway).
Also...they need to change Neelix's pose from relaxed to creature hehe.
Also why do Seven and Neelix look like they have not aged?
...How old was Neelix to begin with? We would be making an assumption after all to say that Talaxians have the same longevity as humans do (that said I think the STO Neelix model looks appropriately frumpier. His color scheme obscures that a bit so maybe a bit more grey is in order here, Cryptic.)

b'elanna didnt strike me as the type to remain in starfleet, her own reasons is that she would never fit in with starfleet and she only wore the uniform because chakotay agreed with janeway to make it one ship and one crew. so later on during the ride she fell pregnant with miral. judging by her defensive personality, she doesnt strike me as the type to stick around, but rather look out for miral and tom as a family, especially in a strange place after years with a tightknit group.
same with tom, he considers himself lucky to have b'elanna, miral and a family of his own and his own responsibilities. its likely due to the exceptional circumstances around his leaving the rehabilitation facility on earth and his arrival back home, he would not go back to that life and with character witnesses to vouching for paris himself he likely wouldnt spend another day back there in new zealand. i could see paris joining starfleet as a test pilot on their new ship models or routine safe shuttlecraft assignments within the sol system, but i cant see him leaving his family for long as the one thing that consistently dogged paris was his determination to succeed at whatever it is.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
Wow this is the first thread since how long? Weeks? Month? that contains alot of positive replies.
I was really surprised to see alot of the cast members coming to STO. The models are really nice. Of couse you could nitpick but I think its great so far.
As for Seven and Neelix aging theres a simple explantation.
The Nanoprobes keeping Seven young, wich is probably known. But what about Neelix? He was revieved from the death with nanoprobes so this could be the explantation why he didnt aged too right?
It would be nice to know if Mulgrew (or any others) were approached; I doubt those details will be shared publicly.
For some actors, though, doing work associated with their prior characters is verboten. IMHO, I doubt Mulgrew would see a voice-over reprisal of Janeway as hindering her career; she's currently working in Netflix's Orange Is The New Black.
It would be interesting to hear her feedback during Star Trek conventions (or elsewhere) about whether she's interested in reprising her role in-game.
( I still want to see Jonathan Frakes (Riker) and Marina Sirtis (Troi) showwiting up with the U.S.S. Titan. Or LeVar Burton (Geordi LaForge) on the U.S.S. Challenger. Make it so, Cryptic/PWE! )
Kate Mulgrew DID reprise her role as Janeway for the "less-than-stellar" Star Trek Legacy in 2005 (4 years after ending the role on Star Trek Voyager).
This is really awesome news. My eyes popped out of my head seeing this! I knew Wang and Russ was going to be in it. That was just great. But to see the others added as well. This game is busting at the seams with awesome!

Neat, especially for Voyager fans. As it's been pointed out though, it's been nearly 40 years since voyager. The characters (except the Doctor) should be showing their age more. I don't think the borg put those kind of implants into Seven.

That game also notoriously spent more on voiceover than the average game spends on development and, I believe, lost money.
I suspect Legacy is a big reason WHY nobody is eager to get the Captains for tie-in media anymore. It's not their fault but there was an overreliance of voiceover star power in the mid-00s. (Remember that Godfather game that had the complete cast of the movie, including Marlon Brando?)
Now, if your product is a straight performance and you have the money, maybe it's worth it. But in the case of a game where you really do need to spend money on developing the game, I think a balanced approach is in order.
I think lack of voiceover is less compelling. Incompetent voiceover is as bad as none. But the only way I can see a big actor like Shatner being worthwhile would be something on the order of Kevin Spacey's Call of Duty game where he is REALLY the central draw and you fill out the cast with competent but not as well known actors in support roles.
Now, is Mulgrew expensive? I don't know. What I do gather is that she's not as much in the circle of friends that is represented here. Wang, Russ, Ryan, Picardo, and Philips hang out and I think the prospect of working together may actually make them more agreeable to this kind of project and willing to negotiate on salary as a group.
Mulgrew isn't really part of that group, socially. I think you might get her interested if it was, say, a joint session or joint hiring package with John deLancie because they are friends. Maybe that will happen.
Neat, especially for Voyager fans. As it's been pointed out though, it's been nearly 40 years since voyager. The characters (except the Doctor) should be showing their age more. I don't think the borg put those kind of implants into Seven.
Seven and Kim are in their 60s. Which by Trek standards, is pretty much "middle-age". Picard was 74 in Nemesis, and showed no signs of being close to retirement. In fact, he adamantly rejected that idea when he was 66 (in Star Trek Generations). Admiral McCoy was 137 years old. You should definitely check up Memory Alpha for birth-years on these characters, in relation to the current STO year of 2410. With the exception of TOS characters, pretty much ALL characters in TNG, DS9 and VOY are free game to be used as characters in 2410.
Human beings in Trek have much longer lifespan than Human beings on our Earth. "Older Kim" has some grey in his hair, but overall hasn't changed much. Seven may have the beginnings of getting wrinkles, or (like her real-life counterpart), she could've simply aged without much visual difference? Not to mention, the borg nano probes doing God knows what inside her. Slowing the natural aging process for example? Why wouldn't the Borg want their drones to be long-lived?
Very, very surprised to have so many Voyager actors coming back for this. Robert Picardo has always been my favourite to see in STO and I never in a million years thought we'd see Jeri Ryan do voicework for the game. A lovely surprise.
Wonder what other recurring Voyager characters were going to see. I know that both Naomi Wildman and Icheb are both on Deep Space K-7, but I do hope they get some involvement with Delta Rising.
Great news all around, I can't wait to see how this all plays out.
Particularly the return of Seven, as she resigned from Starfleet in the Path to 2409 series. With the return to the Delta Quadrant and the business with the Borg Cooperative, it's logical that she would get involved.
...talking to players is like being a mall Santa. Everyone immediately wants to tell you all of the things they want, and you are absolutely powerless to deliver 99% of them.
Depending on what is done with the Borg Cooperative, we could conceivably get Ray Wise as Arturis.
He's a fine actor. His character was last seen assimilated but we do have a Liberated Borg/Cooperative plotline brewing and I foresee that Cryptic will want to use the Dauntless somehow, as it really seems like a big ticket item for either a bundle or a lockbox.
Ray Wise has done prominent stuff (Twin Peaks, Robocop, Mad Men, Psych, How I Met Your Mother, and The Exorcist) but he's also done soap operas just for the fun of it and I've heard stories that he will show up to shoot super, super low budget projects more or less just for gas money if he thinks it looks fun or different.
As in, your student short film could possibly get Ray Wise if you can get word to him and it intrigues him. Sometimes he just gets in a car or on a plane and goes somewhere to do acting for literally free, from what I understand. I've heard of projects with budgets under $10k where Ray Wise decides to show up and will just spend a weekend shooting with people and hanging out.
He's a very giving, funny, and unique actor.
I wound this from an interview he did:
Interviewer: I know you were in a couple different "Star Trek" shows.
Wise: Oh yeah, I loved those. On "Next Generation," I played a Mintaken which is kind of a lower-case Vulcan. We sort of look like Vulcans, but our brains are about half the size, probably. We arent too smart. And I thought that Picard was a god, and I tried to prove it by shooting him with my bow and arrow. Of course, he bled like all humans do, and I discovered that he really wasnt a god. Then I did "Star Trek: Voyager," where I played Arturis, who was from another alien civilization, and he has a head about three times the size of most peoples heads to accommodate like a couple of brains. It looks like this big huge giant shrimp on the top of my shoulders. And that was great fun, I enjoyed doing "Voyager" too.
Interviewer: You get a kind of exposure in doing anything "Star Trek" related that really is unlike anything else. You could do the convention circuit for the rest of your life if you wanted to just off of those appearances.
Wise: Off of those two alone, I know. They keep offering for me to do it, and maybe one day when Im incapacitated and I can't act in front of a camera anymore I might go for that stuff [laughs].
Please make some of those Voyager crew hairstyles available.
I know it's probably not gonna happen. Some of us asked for Warf's new do to be made available so Klingons can have a shorter straight style but it never happened. Please make Warf's hairstyle and beard available for Klingons too.
Robert Beltran really doesn't care a bit about Trek. He's pretty clear about that at conventions. I've never seen the others you mentioned so I don't know what they're up to these days.
Both Roxanne Dawson and Robert Duncan McNeil are in demand tv directors nowadays. Roxanne did two episodes of last season's Marvel's Agents of Shield, and it's a good bet she'll be doing a couple of more in the upcoming season. McNeil produced the "Chuck" tv series and also directed some "Mentalist" episodes. So I doubt if they have enough downtime to do V.O.s.
