What were they going to promote him to? It's not like there was room for advancement on Voyager; it was a fixed crew with no officer replacements to put under him. By the time the show was over, rank meant nothing on the ship outside of Janeway and Chakotay in command and Torres as chief.

Didn't Paris get demoted and promoted a few times?

About as many times as Harry Kim died. :)

Quite excited by this. Can't wait to see these characters receive their due character development, which was sorely lacking in the show. All the models look great so nice work from the character artist that designed them, though I have a couple of personal niggles with Sevens model :P

I think that another quick pass on the overall facial features of Seven might be worth doing. She's close to Jeri Ryan's look, but not quite there, plus I think she looks a little too young considering how long after the series ended the game is set, she'd have a few more lines :P . And then there's the catsuit... Now this isn't "old lady in catsuit, eww!!!" but I'd like to see Seven move away from it. Sure it's her Iconic outfit, but she no longer needs to wear an outfit designed by a perverted hologram (sorry Doctor/Robert Picardo :P ) It would be nice to see her rocking a Starfleet uniform, or a new civilian outfit entirely that calls back to the catsuit in some way, but is much more practical (pockets, pockets everywhere! There's never enough pockets in Star Trek. Gotta store a Padd/tricorder/spare combadge/common engineering tools somewhere).

As I've already said, the rest of the models look great though. Harry Kim's mode deserves definite praise. It resembles an older, wiser looking Garrett Wang almost perfectly.

Did you ever watch Voyager? Some of the absolute best scenes/dialogue in the whole series involve Seven of Nine. Jeri Ryan is way, way more than eye candy.

Her best moment was when she fought The Rock.

I just hope they allowed Jeri Ryan to put some soul into Seven's voice. She sounded like a damn robot most of the time on Voyager(and yes I get that she effectively was; not my point), but towards the end of Voyager she, you know, started to behave a little bit more human.
Anyway my point is that it is 32 years later hopefully Seven has grown as a character/person and talks more like a human with emotion and inflection, not so robot like. I hope they(Cryptic) allowed the actress to do that instead of "just do more of what Voyager did" - monotone and stiff.

Brent Justice will be happy as a lark. :) I will be as well that there will be more VO acting and to think that Jeri Ryan was going to be the hardest and probably would never reprise her role according to Cryptic and STO Wiki. I like her character especially when she said 'small talk is irrelevant''. She is a straight to the point, concise, etc girl. Wow! Good job Cryptic. Bring on Delta Rising and please fix the issue where you have to reinstall the game in order to patch a new season. This a really tedious solution that could be fixed, if it was allowed to patch right in the new stuff without having to reinstall the game over and over again. Thanks.

Weird to say... I'm actually looking forward to interacting with Neelix. The character showed some potential during VOY season 7, especially when he connected with the other Talaxians. If he's a constant bundle of nervous energy, then I might rescind that comment... ;) .

Well Cryptic didn't write worf as the fountain of bad ideas he was during the first few season of TNG so I would assume that they'll write Neelix closer to what he was during the later seasons fo VOY.

He's also high on my list of characters I'm most looking forward to interacting with. He's has the most room to develop since the end of VOY, he's nicely linked into Delta Quadrant interspecies political struggles, and its new ground for the Federation to restablish links with friendly species in the DQ (which is a question VOY certainly left hanging. Great, they're back, but what happens next to everyone they've interacted with?)

He's not at the top though just because they've got the Doctor now. They could bring Picardo in as the laziest shoe-horning attempt in all of memory beta history and I'd still love it to death.

Seven's model DOES need another pass though, not looking like Ms. Ryan at ALL. The forehead is right, but the eyes are all wrong, too small. The jaw is also too slender. Lips are a little too thin, or maybe it's just the shape. May want to thin the arms too. The facial proportions all appear to be correct though.

I know Cryptic can do it though because Worf and Tuvok are excellent.

    Harry looks great though.

Neelix seems to have lost some weight.

The Doc's face...man you guys really killed it there. It looks soft and emotive. Very impressive.

And I'll cosign, please let's have those hairstyles. Though knowing Cryptic it's already in the bag.
So Seven is in her 70s now and still dresses like that? And why does The Doctor look older when he's a hologram?

As a person filled to the brim with auto repairing...or should I say autoregenerative Borg nanoprobes, I don't think aging is something she's even capable of. She's still a cyborg. It's like expecting a terminator to age. Then throw in the fact that Jeri Ryan herself hasn't aged much in the decade since. Who wants to age up Seven of Nine
wish they got Janeway...just doesnt seem right without her.
I don't think she has an appropriate break from Orange is the New Black in time.
    Updated 7 of 9 uniform: 5000 zen.

With the low collar...possible. What about people who already own it though? Maybe an upgrade like with the Odyssey uniform would be appropriate.

I didn't think seven ever took a commission with star fleet. The one or two times she was in a uniform were great, but I thought she stayed a civilian. I just want to see her be a war hawk calling for an invasion of borg space looking to wipe them out.

I damn well hope they rope in the new facial options to the tailor (finally, old people at a scale less than McCoy in TNG 01.)

Great news and great actors. I'd say these were the best picks for the Delta Quadrant theme. Although I personally never liked Neelix as a character, I hope Cryptic will make the most out of Ethan Philips' performance.

Still, I'm most happy about Jeri Ryan and Robert Picardo. Not only because they're great actors, but their characters allow for some unique stories. Again, I hope Cryptic will make the most out of it, and won't treat them as some glorified cameo.

    Btw, Seven's eyes look... old...
And does she really have to keep wearing that catsuit? I mean, I know she's not Starfleet, but show her some dignity...

She likely was a consultant or specialist in her work with Starfleet though she was given an official position according to the Path.

Amen that would be awesome. Hopefully corresponding female options will come with. Just to lay groundwork for when Janeway does come....

You know those details would work pretty damn well for Captain Picard as well.
