Well, it could be the Dauntless, now that i think about it. Wouldn´t make much sence as an T6 Fed ship since it was only a disguised alien ship and not truly Fed. And i think i read somewhere that the Dauntles was one of the ships to come. But i hope it will be a Cruiser or Escort but not another science hybrid.
* Constellation - that just seems likely to me with the accidental leak a coupe of months ago
Or
* A T6 Ship - the devs have leaked they will be available from LV50 and then level up with the player, so it would technicaly possible ... And it would probably sell insanely good, a little financial boost for the company would make sense, because currently i guess sales numbers are worse than ever with the leak of T6 and the possibility to upgrade T5 Ships not confirmed...
Having given this some thought, I'm no longer convinced it's the Constellation. Why? Because that ship is as old as the Constitution and Miranda, and we've nothing of Tier #5 level with them. If/When a Constellation is released, it would seem unlikely to make it through to Tier #5.
...talking to players is like being a mall Santa. Everyone immediately wants to tell you all of the things they want, and you are absolutely powerless to deliver 99% of them.
Where does it say the new ship being released will be T5/T5.5/Fleet?
With Delta Rising coming up soon, I expect any ship below tier 5 would net Cryptic much less money, and given how we've all been guarding our wallets lately... That's just an assumption on my part, and we know how the saying goes, so we shall see...

Anyone else notice that tomorrow's date appears next to the picture of Voyager and the link for the "new" ship release? Not sure if that actually means anything, but food for thought perhaps.
I would give anything for a 25th century version of the Columbia class (NX-01 refit) that included a skin for the original Columbia. that's my dream ship, sadly I know the odds of having this ship in game aren't in my favour.
I totally expect a t5 connie as a last t5 cashgrab. Why ?
1/CBS said no to "endgame" Connie, but soon T5 will not be endgame anymore. T6 will. Even upgraded T5 will not be T6, just like a Cstore T4 is not T5, but still quite close. No rules broken.
2/It will sell. Releasing a soon to be near obsolete ship right before the expansion would not work. Unless you sell something the fans have waited for years, and will buy no matter what. No other ship would sell as much right now.
I might be wrong, and they can go for a voyager bundle. Cheaper to make since they are already working on voyager for X2. So, even if they don't sell much, it was near free to make. But I suspect they keep an "upgraded" version of voyager as T6 bundle later this year (with some RP reason about why it's not a t5u but full t6 ship, and why our old voyager class ship can't be make t6).

I'm going to vote Dauntless. I forget where I read it but the devs were saying we'd see more combat orientanted science ships coming "soon". Dauntless is well know, hasn't been seen STO before, has ties to the Delta Quadrant.
My guess they'll release the T5 varient and make it cost 1000 zen with the option that it becomes a free t5u. When DR releases they'll release the refit as a full t6 ship for 3000 zen. The T5 varient will come with a special console that will NOT appear on the full t6 ship, but can be used on it, and will be part of a set making people to want to buy the t5 ship.

It's true, that's an assumption. There have not been very many C-Store ships below T5, though.
How do you know it's not a T1, T2, T3 or T4 ship?
Those aren't starships.

Yes, along with the NX, and Oberth, Exeter, and possibly one or two others. Not many, though.
I know i was just pulling someones leg thought why not add a little silly to this discussion for a few grins lol
There is no place for humour on the STO forums. This is serious business.
:rolleyes::D

Especially considering Arc and STO is no longer downloadable/installed through steam (it just redirects you to Arc:STO).

...that reasoning is so stupid it could just work
It would be classic Cryptic...
