I can not think of any ship that is well known that is not already in game as a playable ship. Unless they mean one of the 2 npc ships that are not playable yet (typhoon and jupiter)
...talking to players is like being a mall Santa. Everyone immediately wants to tell you all of the things they want, and you are absolutely powerless to deliver 99% of them.
I guess it's the Dauntless. It was said several times that it's going to be in game at some point. I doubt they will introduce another (fake Fed) canon design as a Tier 6 ship so it must come before X2.
The Constellation seems to be the logical choice, cause we know the model already exists within the game. The other option, as mentioned earlier, is the Dauntless; setting players up ready for Delta Rising.
Edit: Come to think of it, releasing the Constellation now doesn't really hold any value, does it? We're headed to the Delta Quadrant in two months time, what purpose would there be to the Constellation? My money ( which wont be, cause I'm not buying it :P ) is on the Dauntless.

I like the idea of the Dauntless. It was an alien ship that was made to look like a Fed ship through particle synthesis. Maybe we get a Dauntless with a different skin for each faction so it looks like a Fed, KDF or Rommie ship?

I know, I'm putting too much thought into it.
Hmm even better. You could adapt any skin you like so you would look like an ally to enemy ships. Till the moment you're close enough for them to identify you (say 5km). Now that's a ship I would buy
They made it pretty clear the Dauntless is on the menu. the Constellation saucer TRIBBLE up was atleast a year ago now If I remember right.
Everywhere I look, people are screaming about how bad Cryptic is.
What's my position?
That people should know what they're screaming about!

Constellation is a thought, but it leaves KDF and Rommies out in the cold. Dauntless is a Delta Quadrant ship and can be seen as a teaser for the upcoming expansion.

I expect that the ship released on Thursday is almost certain to be for one faction only, and it will not be one of the free giveaways.

I love this line, Most likely I have just shot and killed a Romulan threatening to cause trouble.. Then walk up to a slacker with my phaser rifle in hand, telling him he should get to work. There is no doubt he'll agree with me about the importance of the work now.
If they don't say it will be upgradable to full T6 then they are going to sell very few of them. I'm surprised they'd release anything now when people are holding their cash until DR comes.
Sometimes I think I play STO just to have something to complain about on the forums.

Maybe what they release will be the first T6 ship. But it can't get super powerful since none of the code is in Holodeck yet. That would explain why they put out the T6 blog just before this release.

As a wild guess, I'd say yes to the Dauntless... and the Constellation-class, too.
Question is, does Cryptic have a reason for keeping canon Trek ships T1-T5, due to some contractual (and/or creative licensing) reason? Makes you wonder...
The Devs must be enjoying (or wincing at) our ponderings.

I don't think it would be this week, but that would be interesting based on how they are supposed too get more powerful as we level up. It looks like at 50 they won't be more powerful than what we have now. Of course we can't use ship traits yet, or the new boff type, so that would really prevent the new ships from being used.
I still say revamped Intrepid makes sense based on the pic in the Starfleet Operations Report, but I agree that Constellation would make sense too. We know it will be in game, it's a "well known" ship. On top of that the last two ships released have been science (Dyson) and escort (Tempest) so we are due for a cruiser.

This is just another skin for the Stargazer, learn your ships.
You can redact this all you want Cryptic, but it's coming! And you can't stop the truth!
the const was well before the stargazer but the stargazer was built in honor of the uss stargazer a constellation class ship. now you got your fact.
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
She is already in the game.
Personally, I hope the devs troll us all and give us the Yeager.
Seriously, I'm willing to bet that its the Constellation-class.

t6 miranda ftw!

Oh no... they finally gave in! T5 Constitution!!!
The revamped Intrpid is part of the tribble testing, so nothing on tribble will make it to holodeck until the release of X2.
