If Constellation comes on Thursday, it best come with a Picard Maneuver console. Something that can at least be moved to other starships - both above or below its tier.

Well, they also have to release the voyager revamp at some point. You would expect it to come with DR but they could also have it ship now to double as indirect pre-launch hype/PR.

on tribble, my constellation saucer'ed heavy cruiser had a bit more detail, namely that 6 deck tall hanger door on the front, that when you think about seems crazy if the ship isnt a dedicated carrier.

it deserves to be playable at end game a heck of a lot more then the connie does though. its 3 times its size, and was in operation till at least the mid 24th century, unlike the connie which was getting decommissioned as early as 2393. and according to my head cannon, got taken apart and rebuilt into the larger constellation class. would explain what a blatant kit bash it is.
It has to be either the Dauntless or Constellation Class. I'm fine with it either way, cause one way or the other, we're getting one of the COOL ships. =3

Well, we now know what T6 brings to the table, roughly.
An extra console slot, boff power slot, improving hit points as well as starship traits.
In PvE it'll make less difference probably (although we dont yet know how much more difficult the new content will be), but in PvP its a huge difference.

They've mentioned, briefly, that there will be an upgrade process, that it wont use crafting and that the final result will not be a full equal of a T6 ship.
For some reason i would think the new ship is a multi-factional one? the blog says ONE ship, cant imagine only getting a federation ship, and more unlikely a ship per faction..

To paraphrase, there's a level for pre-power creep and post-power creep, then there's a level for X2 that's beyond power creep, and anything that was at the pre- or post-power creep levels won't matter. Taking the previous quote into consideration, this implies that the ships you like will matter because they won't exist in the pre- or post-power creep levels any more.
I hate being a pessimistic-nudge, but I would guess the free stuff is probably going to be something I already have.
Oh well, it's not like I haven't really enjoyed what I bought.

Unless the new ship this week will be the first T6 ship but function as a T5 until Delta Rising launches in which case it will scale with player level and have stats and stuff according to the T6 ship blog?
And I too suspect it will be the Constellation class. The Constellation saucer was accidentally available for the Mirror Heavy Cruiser Retrofit from the Hirogen lock box. It was removed quickly but players already using the saucer kept the appearance on their ship as long as they didn't go to a ship tailor and modify it. So I think it's a good guess as to what the new ship will be.
Or maybe we're finally getting a T5 connie!!! :D
Edit: Please for the love of tribbles, if you're giving away free ships give the Romulans some love. I think the last giveaway you had we didn't get any free Rommie ships. The first giveaway during summer 2013 you didn't give any Rommie ships because they were too new at the time and I was here for the last giveaway and don't remember getting any.

Well considering that there's a strong possiblity that tier 5 ships will be upgraded into tier 6 ships, and that there's a chance for the new ship to even be tier 1, 2, 3, or 4(like they sometimes release anyway), I think it makes perfect sense. =D
Maybe it's a new class of STO ship that can be used all the way from T-1 through T-6...
