1 - Risa Bikinis available to combine with normal cloths and make more awesome cloths.

2 - tailor cloths palette colours to be expanded on normal outfits.

3 - Fleet "nausicaan tegolar sword" and "Tsunkatse Falchion" version. (many people don't like the lirpa/batlet style or prefer sword.

    4 - kinetic wip.

    5 - nanopulse sword. (whay not :) !?)

    6 - ferengi / cardassian / jah'm adar reputation system ^.^

    7 - omni-directional beams with different damage.
(with existing kinectical beam / omni-directional anti proton beam and incoming polaron beam, we could still use disruptor / plasma / phaser / tetryon etc omnidirectional beam (they could be added to the rep systems - some existent and some new to come)

8 - more ground device slots.
betwin tribble / hypos / pets / remodulator / consumable grenades / ice boots / shard of possibilitys / ophidian cane / collective static grenade / immunosuport nanite injector / there isn't enough device slots to go around.
maybe having 6 slot devices would be nice.

9 - Ground - Remodulation skill from honour guard / maco become a available skill without the set (after aquiring the set).
maco/ honour guard remodulator skill could be a active reputation available trait (4+1) so people could unlock that skill, but be able to use different weapons / armour when fighting borg (because it would make it different and fun)

10 - better rewards from normal missions (MK XI green stuff doesn't worth it)

next summer event - coconut guns to take us to the secret islands and shoot the monkeys that stole the birds. yes ... a rip-off from the gingerbread land ... actually, anything would be better than build sand castles

winter event - nano - pulse swords ... or just shiny coloured kinetic swords.
(really everyone hates that borg adapt to the nano-pulse) once people realised it, most people just don't carry them anymore).

and some bugs fix ... trying to accelerate ship, with map open, ("E" button) zooms the map, instead of accelerating ship - bug since season 8.

    14 - revamp of nukara Hard -
i used to do nukara hard a lot, along with other people.
we would pack 10 idiots and some pugs, zerg the boss and die horribly, but most times we would accomplish to finish the hard.
... now, i since they moved the hard to a STF, we need 5 guys, properly fitted and that know what they're doing.
when we pug it, we usually end up with 20 minutes of frustrating fight were we end up failing it, because most people running alts don't have them all properly fitted like the main.

so, most people avoid doing nukara hard - as an outcome, there's content that people don't do any more.

i think it's preferable the old content were 10 ill prepared pugs can do that mission, rather then a mission that most people avoid doing just so they don't end up wasting 20 frustrating minutes.

    .

What about just a more general update that removes some of the arbitrary tailor restrictions? Klingons are hurting for customization options and it just so happens that the Nausicans and Orions have quite a few options available to them (and no I'm not just talking about a lack of pants.) Why can't those nuts, bolts, bits, belts, and blades be made available across the whole KDF? Then there's the question of some of the off duty pants and shirts, those would also easily supplement both the FED and KDF (particularly some of the long pants.)

Is their intended role really that important that we have to suffer through a tangible lack of content (across more of the game)? Customization is huge in STO and it works on the principle that the player can do more with the options available than the devs can through their own creative vision and effort. Just give us the stuff to find better ways of applying it, let us do more with the game (particularly when there's perhaps only a single arbitrary bar holding us back.)

I would like to see a dynamic multifaceted Delta Quadrant. Like others have said, this is really where there should be tons of exploration, dynamic story content based on choice (much like the last two feature episodes but even better) and a true sense of going into the unknown. I will be extremely disappointed if the delta quadrant ends up being exactly like the rest of sector space with everything mapped out. (Or maybe a hybrid where Voyager's flight path is mapped but there are a bunch or unknown/uncharted systems)

I'd also like to see the rest of the federation filled in. Story missions to Betazed, Ferenginar, and actual missions on Risa that would pay off the summer grind in a big way. And last but not least definitely less grind. The grind is killing this game for me. I find asking my self what exactly the purpose of the grind is... To get better gear!? That might make sense if this game wasn't so easy. That's why the crafting update fell flat with me... I'm too casual of a gamer to put all that time in for a extra special super duper weapon or console when the fleet gear works just fine.

Well I think that some of the stuff (ie. the battlezone, new PVE's, and last few episodes) involved grinding but only in so far as they're fun pieces of content that are designed to be replayed (ie. grinding in the best possible casual sense.) Of course there has to be some incentive to approach the game that way, and that's where stuff like rep comes in (which I simply take as a way of keeping score and getting good guns.)

Crafting though, is indeed flat. There's aspects to it that I personally like (being able to produce basic equipment which I think is a better relationship than relying on random drops and the exchange) but to get to that point there's all the worst parts of STO to try to go through (managing a bloated accessory UI, grinding through said UI under time constraints, grinding for items to feed into that UI). IMO they did a good job in the past working with grindy interface systems but only because they complimented other parts of the game (which made those systems available to just about anyone who played it.)

As it is, crafting simply justifies having data samples/crafting materials (which we could have easily lost prior to this update, if anything they should have focused on finding better ways to deliver randomly selected mini missions to replace exploration, not crafting.)

that sounds very good. my idea was pointing in that direction, the removal of restriction in cloths, so players can customise more and come up with more interesting things.

besides, from a point of view were it's about exploration and new species and cultures, customisation allows for new visuals.

most of the current restrictions in combining owned cloths don't make much sense, apart of different faction and even there, some cloths are cross faction.

Some of the romulan gloves come specifically to mind here. Fingerless gloves aren't necessarily key to the iconography of a KDF aligned romulan captain. Hell I can pick them up from Wal-mart now without making a political statement. With replicators and an optimistic future basic attire like this should be more generally available. Of course the major/important bits to the uniform should be restricted to factions, but some of the more ambiguous accessories should be generally available (like certain pants, belts, and the aforementioned gloves).

So for you, what is the killer app for Expansion 2?

List the three features you want the most that would make this expansion a home run for you, in order of importance.

Try to keep it within the realms of reality, as "no lockboxes ever again" is probably not on the feature list.

    For me, it would be:

    1) Revamped ground combat to use a cover based mechanic.
    2) Inclusion of a comprehensive, interesting, and highly replayable exploration system that doesn't utilize the foundry.
    3) Reorganize levels so that no one's Commando-Admirals anymore.

(Edited cause I thought of something more important to put at 3.)

    i agree on this=)

Content that is actually a challenge to complete rather than "Elite" content that is easy as TRIBBLE just so that they can allow the casual "I don't care how much damage I do" type of players feel like they are actually good at the game.

Technically speaking, the Doctor is never shown in STO, but we have "news" from him through the path to 2409. But considering a more or less recent tweet from Wang, we'll probably have ensign (or maybe he is captain by now) Kim. He said he'll do some voice-over for STO in august.

Guess that explains why I didn't see him at the Dragon Con Directors meeting today...

This is coming with the revamped crafting. I have seen it on tribble, you can decide what flavor omnidirectional beam array you want.

    1. a colony based fleet holding on a planets surface with a fairly large map area to expand into as the colony grows that you can take from tier 0 to 5 and still have the ability to add new features after even long after tier 5 is reached and that any future fleet holding will be bolt-ons to this colony so it will continue to grow forever.

    2. a complete overhaul of the pvp system with at least 1 or 2 that are last man standing affairs where you have 2 teams of 10 players and once you are knocked out you cannot respawn back in, the winning team being the one with the greatest number of players left at the end.

    3. add the ability to select a final destination to fly to making the complete trip automatic so for example if you are at earth and select to go to new rom or DS9 the whole trip takes place without any further input from the player, this includes those silly times where the system ask you if you want to warp to a sector especially if that is not where you need or want to go to complete your trip.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

    1) A comprehensive and extensive update to the Foundry (Foundry itself, UI especially Search Engine)
    2) A complete rework and extensive extension of Exploration that does NOT include the Foundy
    3) A complete rework of Sector Space (Cut out Sector Border and increase Size at least 3 fold)

Cryptic's behavior has brought me to the point of expecting nothing .

Or at least that's how I felt before S9.5 . Now I'm worried what else will get removed in the name of the current ****ty "standard" ... .

Now as to what I want ... -- I want certain ppl who are relying on Lockboxes only for the success of the game to leave STO and go over to Neverwinter and drive that game into a standstill .

I can. KDF and Romulans still have outfits they cannot use and I cannot delete them. The pop up that shows all the weapons or devices you can use. I'd like to turn that OFF.

Couple of other things in that list they could work on.

    1) new system to deal with difficulty settings mainly options to make everything (much) harder (preferebly more interesting them just increased dmg/hp)
    2) one big galaxy/no more sector borders
    3) highly increased randomness in missions/events maybe even a random mission generator

1.) Opening up the rest of Federation Space. Its 8,000 Light Years Across as of TNG. Thats a lot of area to explore for the first time/ engage in content. I honestly dont know why theyd open up the Delta Quadrant before finishing the Alpha and Beta Quadrants, which havent been fully explored themselves.
2.) Romulan Starbases. I know that when you get to a certain point. Romulans have to choose Klingon or Federation. But it still be nice to see an all Romulan Fleet that could in turn build a Romulan Centric Starbase without having the forced choice of Faction to supersede that.
    3.) Utilizing our mothballed starships.

·If the grind is to remain, needs more dynamics to keep it interesting/tactical/strategic.
·More focus on your ship/crew as reflected in the shows(only large and rare engagements require more than one star ship. These things are self sustaining fortresses and are extremely versatile other than just shoosting weapons and blowing stuff up.
·Exploration of the gama quadrant and the dominion. Not as a new playable race, but a whole new quadrant to discover with new stories that aren't just a part of an epic story arc.
·A story expounding on the events after the resolution of the dominion war(I think this may happen anyways for no other reason than it makes sense to me, especially since the solanae are keeping track of the dominion)
·New and exploitable celestial phenomena both for advancement in knowledge, added dynamics in battlefields and resources.

Probably more but as it is now, for me, all I do is log in and admire my jem'hadar character I made and the badass dominion escort carrier he flies(seriously that thing is beautiful) while waiting for the next event/episode/repgrind/grind to show up.
