Let us control what we see...

I know this won't happen but...wouldn't it be great? It would make pretty much everyone happy.

Add a series of options that would affect what YOU see in various locations, these would be a series of options that the player could set to on or off. Things like...

Ground

-Uniforms only on social maps (no swimwear and other non-uniform clothing)

-Uniforms only on combat maps

-Hide Armor

-Hide Kits

-etc

(option to disable on combat maps)
(option to disable on PvP maps)

Space

-Hide non-standard ships in social maps

-Hide non-standard ships in queued maps

-Hide non-standard ships in PvP maps

(option to disable on combat maps)
(option to disable on PvP maps)

If a person isn't wearing a uniform the game will put them into one that YOU will see. Ships would be changed to be a faction ship of approximately the same class that YOU will see.

This seems like it would make everyone happy, those who don't mind all the immersion breaking stuff could leave it off, those who do mind could turn it on. Of course it won't stop all immersion breaking things, but it could definately help.

The only people I can really see being against it are those who fancy themselves comedians and want to subject their "funny".

Would be great, but even I think it would be a bit hard to pull off.
Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.

I say we take this a step further.

If i pay for a premium version, I can actually change your character to how i want it, and also allow me to access your account, so i can also control that character, and have it play how i want.

The worst part of the game is seeing the stupid costumes people put on their stupid characters. Give me a way to force everyone into uniform and I'd be a happy person.

The gaming engine is already "too busy" to show my own ship's weapons when they fire.
Now you want it to also be overworked to clear out clothing that you don't like?

I personally think the Omega Armor, etc. visuals look dumb outside of battle, but I don't care if someone else uses it.

You should find a single-player game to play.

A matter of opinion. They could remove PvP completely and I (and many others) wouldn't lose one bit of sleep.

Nah, thanks. Sure, there are idiots out there who go into battle in a dress and high heels. But there are also tons of serious and creative uniform designs or costumes that make sense for mercenaries etc. I actually prefer it if someone who flies a Jem'hadar bug brings a made-up Jem'hadar in a Dominion uniform or a Vorta in civilian clothes. Or someone who flies a Plesh'brek in mercenary gear.

Well, they now have the beginning of tech that would allow for costumes to be map restricted. It's not perfect yet but they CAN trigger a switch that flips people's costume to the primary slot.

I wouldn't object to more use of that IF it had a consistent and coherent philosophy behind it and places that broke the philosophy were common enough to be accessible and were clearly demarcated.

I really wouldn't object to social hubs and the public queue being uniform only and they OUGHT to be free of fire extinguishers and disco balls as well.

Then you have places that are anything goes like Drozana, Risa, Q's Wonderland, and Nimbus. And maybe the hubs when Q is present. And make them feel legitimately different. They're Party Zones or whatever.

Then you have personal or fleet options for starbases and ship interiors. Maybe even allow BOs a second costume slot that is unrestricted but they get bounced back to their default slot whenever they're on a map that doesn't tolerate it.

Public queue should default to no toys and uniforms but I'd be all for letting people set their own rules for private queues. Want to run Infected in Swimwear and launch disco balls? Fine for a premade, not for a PuG.

Let Foundry missions pick a ruleset and let Foundry authors place vendors for the various clothing types.

Not a bad idea, but not sure how they would get it to work, unless you could develop a client side mod. Used to be able to do that on SWG. They had a mod that could change Mustafar into Hoth.

The closest I can think of is WoW.

They had X-Ray goggles that caused you to see EVERYONE in underwear. They saw themselves normally. You saw them in bikinis and thongs.

Maybe Cryptic can add that to the Lobi/Latinum store toys. New kit module: X-Ray VISOR.

    Ugh.

ummm no. not at all. that is not how a MMO should work. there are many people who put allot of work into there outfits. the game already put's in all the restriction on what you wear that we need. the rest is just in your head.

the basic issue is, i am not in your story. i have my own rules to how i run my character. and i don't want MY character changed because of YOUR issues with it. granted i have my own issues with the Unique's (uniforms) in this game but i accept it as a MMO game and my game play and my look is just as important as yours.

so you look how you want and i look how i want. and we both see just that. sorry if that bothers you but that is the way it should be.

Well back at launch there was (and apparently there still is) a working mod that made people appear... well... Unlike something you would find in a game rated for 13 year olds...

I assume something similar could be done for this...
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

It's not about that to most of them it's about the "funny" and the "epeen". The funny thing is, there are no real accomplisments in the game to have epeen over. You can get fill MACO by running ISE ad infinitum.

Lots of people saying how this would be bad...but not a one has given a reason.

Or maybe people don't want to see the outfit you "put work into" (LOL). Maybe we want SF/KDF/RR officers to actually look like they are in a military organization.

Won't happen, now that you "buff" people with disco balls. Cryptic has always been way too goon-friendly.

So you can make everyone look the same?

I'm sorry, I thought Star Trek was about exploring our differences and why they're awesome.

    Silly me.
