For those among us who may not understand business rules:
Cryptic is owned by a company called Perfect World. If PW tells cryptic to put alien ships into lockboxes, Cryptic can't say, "Well, we'd love to, but we can't break the IP's canon."
No, the person who says that will either get spun around really fast by PW or fired. It's just how things work in business. It's all about money, pure and simple.
its 10 console ship but no fleet level because it have 1.3 shield mod and 27k hull, ALL fleet sci ships are 10 console and 1.43 shield mod and 29.7k hp
I stand corrected, for some reason i took in into account the maximum console amount per tactical, engineering and science of the ship. The Vesta has 5 sci consoles, guess thats where i got confused but yes, 10 in total.
I did read your post. If the USS Tempest, the first of it's class also has the USS Nellore as a member of it's class then the USS Tempest would have been commissioned first. Thus if the USS Nellore has a registry number NCC-93475, the Tempest which would have been commissioned before it would have a registry number that come before 93475 (i.e. lower than 93475).
Here are the facts you're missing though. There are already STO canon ships commissioned that exceed NCC-93475. The U.S.S. Odyssey has a registry of NCC-97000, and the U.S.S. Avenger's registry is NCC-97500. Unless it was a refit of an old ship, the U.S.S. Tempest's registry number would have had to be past NCC-97500. And using those facts, the U.S.S. Nellore IS a refit, as it is of the newest ship class and has a registry number lower than NCC-97500, the last canonically established registry number.
I'm guessing this does NOT include the Mirror Universe Patrol Escort? And I'm thinking the new Tempest skin would be available on the Mirror Universe Advanced Escort if we buy it yes? Regardless, I think it's a nice looking ship and the rear gun intrigues me, I think I'd pick this up when it's on sale in the distant future.

Carpet Bomb console looks interesting, but the price (2500 Zen) is pretty steep.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
Though targets will likely have been dead for 10 minutes already by the time you guys get around to killing your target.
You both speak an element of truth.
Oddly enough, I was considering purchasing a Galaxy Dreadnought soon ... I was saving up for one, but now I'm not sure it's worth the bother.
I presently own only the Retrofit, and that's thanks to a pre season #9 lifetime token.
Did not see that coming. Even with the free ship slots. Does this mean there are more C-Store versions of T5 free ships on the way? I'd love a C-Store Luna or Destiny.
That being said, not buying. Sorry, but as nice as it looks (the Tempest, that is) i've no use for another Escort.
You're just a machine. And machines can be broken.
Anyone worried that the KDF will not get anything ever... I suspect this will be a new wave of ships for all factions. The Undine Lockbox ship already hat the unusual Cmdr / Lt Cmdr x2 loadout (Only the KDF Carrier had that before), and include an 8 weapon slot Escort.
I can't fly escorts, they're far too squishy for me (no idea how some escorts seem to be unkillable) but I might actually be able to live in this one... *want*
Nevermind. I thought they were two different ships when one of the retrofit and the other if the fleet version.

Looking for a new fleet? Drop by the in-game chat channel, "tenforwardforum", and say hi to the members of A Fleet Called Ten Forward (Fed) and The Orion Pirates (KDF). If you already have a fleet you are happy with, please feel free to drop by our chat channel if you are looking for a friendly bunch of helpful people to socialize with.

I sure hope it'ss lead to a new wave of ships. But not necessarily what you mean. A "wave" as in tons of new ships to fill everyone's free ship slots. =D
I kinda' like what you did with the design of the Tempest, looks nice and sleek at first glance - and I'm a huge fan of round saucer sections instead of chevrons. Definitely an improvement over the regular Patrol Escort look.
Just guys, not to be the grumpy guy, but I'd ask for just one thing please - don't pretend that you care about power creep anymore, we're not children. It's ok, we get it, you figured the game needs to have some I guess. *shrugs* No need to pretend.
P.S. Also, isn't it about time for that Fleet Guramba with 5 tactical consoles?
I couldn't help but think that the saucer would look AWESOME on an Avenger.
As far as curbing power creep, the Undine lockbox showed me where Cryptic's priorities REALLY lie, and it's not with the power creep.

Heh, silly me.
I always wanted an attack like that in STO.

Coming out of nowhere suggests that there is much more hidden in the Cryptic computers than we thought.
And please let me add this: Hey Galaxy fans, the smaller the ship the mightier the firepower and the Boff seating.

Thank you for correcting me,much appreciated.
That's the only way I can imagine it working, especially on the larger baddies, like the huge Voth dreadnaughts.

NCC 71819? She was popped in the Malestrom back in the 70s!
With that ship we won't be far of.

Oh, what's the Tempest class in orbit off? A black hole?

No, since that's never been the case.

The Nicor isn't an Escort though.

One is the fleet version, the other is the c-store version.
One is tier 5, the other is tier 5.5 (like all fleet ships)
