The op is greatly mistaken. The galaxy x dreadnought was originally free for referring 5 friends. After that it went into the c-store for 2000 cps, $25. After cps were converted to zen the cost became 2500 zen, $25.

At the time it was the only ship that cost $25 (that's what I paid for it the day it was released into the c-store); and that price was put on it to appease everyone who was upset because it went from referral to c-store, because many people bought 5 subscriptions to get it rather then refer 5 friends and paid a lot more then $25.

Im a bit confused from the dev blog. It seems that everything in the blog was geared toward upgrading the Galaxy-X, but not the Galaxy-R.

All i saw(correct me if im wrong), in terms of upgrades for the Galaxy-R is the saucer sep while moving, and thats all i saw. Everything else is seemed for the Galaxy-X.

Is there any other upgrade to the Galaxy-R?

There seemed to be like none.

And then along comes me in my Avenger to out-tank you, AND out-dps that escort beside you! Lol just kidding... but not really :D

Your not even joking. Yes, the galaxy-R is a tank. No one can deny that. The problem is that tanks aren't needed in the game anymore.....even if they ever were. Almost every ship can somewhat tank. Elite stf's are being finished <3 minutes, and a zombie/tank build in pvp will just have everyone else on the team leave you alone because you lack any damage to hurt anyone...they will just save you till last.

As for the galaxy-R. Yes your a tank....but there are better "Tanks" out there, and at the same time, they bring an offensive to the table that the galaxy-R could only dream of. Anything that the Gaxaxy-R can do other ships do better. Anyone captaining a galaxy-R is just gimping themselves, wether they know it or not. The only reason to pilot the ship is because of its iconic nature, roleplay, you like being an underdog, don't care about min/max--what you bring to the team etc. You can say...I'm an unbeatable beast, I pwn in my galaxy-r...which may or may not be true...but if it is, think of it this way...if you think your a beast in your galaxy-r...if you flew any other ship you would think you were a god.

I don't think you can get the bundle if you already own any of the ships. Like every other bundle they have, buy one part and you can't buy the bundle anymore.

I fly the Galaxy-R despite all its flaws. I don't care about the bridge load-out and it being dated. I just want to train my two front and aft phasers banks and launch two front and aft photon torpedoes.

The thing they can do is making the saucer seperation an in-built ability, not a console and make the Ensign engineering an Universal. Because I could use a wee-bit of tactical in there for an extra Torp. Spread. Now I'm stuck with having Tac Team and Fire at Will.

    My only beefs.

For the rest part, I just wish to fly it - no matter what. :)

-A set bonus between the Saucer Separation and Antimatter Spread consoles.
-A fix to the separation/reintegration sequence
-An addition to Antimatter Spread for the saucer section if the stardrive section has it

It's very clear what the flagship of Starfleet is in STO. It was the Enterprise E. Then the F.

It's also very clear what a flagship ship is in STO. The three pack Flagship bundles.

The Galaxy X is not a flagship in STO.

Nor was it the iconic ship of Next Generation. That was the Galaxy itself.

This is your opinion. The ship I use in the game is my own Flagship. As a RPer that is how I choose.

No. It's not opinion. It's the game's very own text. The Enterprise is the flagship of Starfleet.

Nothing, the reboot is just an insult and by the look of it, they dont care if they insult their players.

Despite the set up on the ship where most people are DPS and turning happy. The Galaxy ships are a nice ship to use. You just need to adjust your playing style when using it. Just like the Romulan DD, most people had nothing but complaints about it. I been using that ship for months and never had issues once I learned how to use it. Now all my opponents turn into space dust. Its all how you use it. Even the KDF Negh'Var I use. That is the same set up, just a faster on the turn. Still I don't have issues using it, and still get it out to use at times.

I agree on the tank, dps, healing role. They really allowed it to be out of hand on the roles. Now you don't really need that role as much. If they kept to that role, the Galaxy would really shine on what it could do.

As for the pack, its a great buy that is for sure. You save a lot on that bundle. I have plans on getting it, and making use out of the Galaxy-R and Galaxy Dreadnaught. As a RPer, the Dread can easily be my main new Flagship/Command ship. Knocking the Sovereign out of the current role. But its all how I can learn to make good use of it. This would give me my first Dreadnaught size ship to play with as well.

No. It's not opinion. It's the game's very own text. The Enterprise is the flagship of Starfleet.

Star Trek uses it in both terms:

1 - Flag ship of the Federation/Star Fleet:
Usually the best ship/crew of the Fleet. Which in this case usually the Enterprise. Cause the show is usually centered around that ship. Which been proven on both show/movies and game.

    2 - Admiral/Commanding officer:
When an high ranking officer commands a Fleet, usually an Admiral of some rank. Or in some cases a ship in command of the Fleet. This has also been proven on shows/movies. During the Neutral zone with the Romulans, the Enterprise was commanding that fleet movement. So it had that title for the time. During the Dominion War the Defiant was considered the Flagship since it was the main commanding ship of all those attacks. In this case the Enterprise was no where to be found since it wasn't in the show.

With this we both are right. Enterprise is Federation's Flagship, and my ship is a Flagship. Since the Enterprise has no effect on what I do. Plus it don't do much in the game to start with. Making the game centered around a player's ship. Making it the Flagship.

I know how to use it. I can just use other ships in similar ways and have more fun in them.

Not much. They didn't even bother to give it the hanger slot that the Galaxy Dreadnought is getting.

If the Retrofit is getting a buff, it wasn't mentioned in the blog. It's possible that additional upgrades for the Retrofit and Fleet Retrofit are in the works as well, but weren't mentioned.

In another thread I asked the same question and the answer I got was that the Devs had already stated there was no intent to do anything to the Galaxy-R ATM.

The only thing the galaxy r gets out of the deal is new seperation animation and access to the set bonus if they have the venture.

Dev Tracker reveals utter silence on the issue, unless there was something in the Livestream that I didn't catch.

The strongest evidence is the absence of any notes in the blog that would affect the -R besides the improvements to Saucer Sep and the addition of the 2-piece set bonus. Strictly speaking, it doesn't necessarily mean that there aren't any improvements to the ship that are in the works, but at the same time I wouldn't hold my breath.

It was said through Twitter I believe.
Sadly, the devs. often choose all the random weird venues to tease and communicate STO related stuff, rather than the designated places like this forum for ex.

In the age of social media I don't think twitter could be considered weird. We're past the day of people only getting their info from one place.

great, so for ages when they have been on about the revamp to all the galaxys, and this is all they do. how utterly rubbish.

(though it *could* just be that the R isnt getting any boff changes but i doubt it)

They've never stated anything about revamps to all the galaxies, especially not for "ages." In fact they've always been quiet about the galaxy; and basically ignored every thread posted about it.
