I'm in GMT, and really the only time it is quiet is 12-2PM for me, and while most of this channel is in America, there are a lot of people around GMT, and you can usually get a team together. As long as you are not expecting a 20P SB24. Must do another of them again.

    Not at all :D

Just having some good fun - ST-cannon style (more or less)

Must say I can't wait for some FED Command ships - I'm itching to try that Phalanx Formation!

I plan on being on a lot tonight, from about 5:30 to 10 EST, and I'd like to set up some group events.
    1. I know that some people are farming Dominion gear for Jem'Hadar sets, I'd like to see if we can get some people to tag along to help them out.
    2. I missed out on the chance before, but I'd love to get some some recommendations on a 5 man STB patrol group tour, maybe even a group in all tier 2 ships from the give away. (by recommendations, I mean like (start at japori, then do blah, then blah etc)
    3. Group runs of the new featured episode.
    4. Group runs of the revamped Romulan episodes.

    These sound GREAT!

I won't be on until late tonight due to my Tuesday commitments but just ask in chat to see who's interested.

3 of us did some of the Cardassian missions and it was pretty fun.... good change of pace and a good break from collecting particles :D

Heads up as well... I will be at a company function from Sunday to Friday out of town and I don't know how much time I will be online if at all:(

If they have internet, which I don't see why they woudn't, I should be on at least a couple of hours a night to at least get in some form of pew pew in... or particle gathering IF their internet can handle it hahaha.

See you in game Captains 07

Been looking forward to flying with you but I can't pass the login Server.

@dragonsbrethren: Please keep taking care of the bank. Seems you more or less got to do it without me. I just can't connect reliably enough to really keep an eye on it.

Oh damn, sad to hear you're still having login issues. I've been keeping an eye on the fleet bank and haven't noticed any odd activity since you brought it up the last time.

Well, reached 960 and then spent 20 lobi to get the last 40 (46) to get my new ship, the Kobali Samsar, Datlof (WILL HOLD!), and then had a good conversation with someone else in the channel, before logging off. I'll probably come back on later to test the ship, hopefully there is someone else to test it with.

Sorry about not being on the last few days, Friday 13th of February is a very hard day for me.

However, I will be on later, and I will be be buying the new ships, and I still have to test the Datlof (Kobali Samsar.)

Well, as of today, Star Trek Battles has now been going for a whole year. This channel is amazing, there is hardly anybody I do not like in it, and I think without it, Iprobably would not still be playing this game, I probably would have stopped months ago. Although... that would have saved me a lot of money. And time. I just wish this channel existed 3 years ago when I started.

Good Morning and Greetings Captains of STB! 07,

1 year ago today is when I through out my crazy idea that is STB. I didn't know what to expect but after 1 year... it has been AMAZING!

Through the course of the year I have met some of the BEST people in STO and have made some really good friends through STB, I couldn't be more thankfull for that fact alone.

Personally, STB and the Captains within it has made the so called "grind" more fun. The nights of grinding thru events on various toons was really painless and just plain old fun for me and I hope it was the same for others.

I've gotten to know some on a personal level and have been able to learn from them not only in STO but also IRL. I love the fact that STB has always had a sense of community which is one of the things that I never expected. Also hearing that STB has renewed their love for ST/STO was humbling.

I'd like to thank each and everyone of you Captains for trying and or staying with STB through this 1 year. I couldn't have asked for a better group to pew pew with. I also wanted to thank Apocolyptic Fleet, Fed Alliance Fleet & Spartan Vanguard fleet for the support they've given to STB as well as all other members who graciouslly helped STB members to get and use their resources.

I look forward to many more nights of pew pew and good ol chatting....

As suggested by Captain Kyana, there will be an SB24 run for all who have the time to spare to pew pew as part of a large group... I'd like to get as many Captains to join if they can just for pew pew and do it like old times. I don't have a specific time but I usually get on around 9pm MST or really it can be run without me if there is enough. The aim of this is just to have fun... BYPS... Bring Your Preferred Ship :D.

Again... I would like to thank all of you Captains for making STO a more enjoyable place to be in day in and day out. I have been humbled to have met ALL of you and can only hope for more of the same that is STB.

We will see you in game Captains!... Captain Trizeo/ZED/Commander Tuzak & General J'war signing off 07/Qapla'!/Jolan Tru & LLAP!

I know our timezones are different but everytime your on I always try to get something in just cuz you make my laugh.

Trust me... I wish I started STB sooner as well.

could sombody tell me how to join? please? I fly three differant ships: a level 40 Sovereign that I love with all my heart, a Risian cruiser because of its tactical layout, and a mirror patrol escort with a DPS loadout and a canon loadout. I have always seemed uncomfterable having any non-Starfleet boffs on my standard away team including the Hierarchy but only the Kobali when im not on Kobali Prime. I use the MACO ground set, elite fleet phaser rifles, and Elite fleet shields/deflectors/engines. I use ONLY phasers exept for my escorts dps build. I have a rom eng and kdf sci. The rom is a Reman kdf who finally got a full Reman away team and he flies the Samsar because the Ha'pax is TRIBBLE but I pretend its a Romulan ship and he uses Romulan plasma weapons. My kdf sci flies the Sarr Theln because the Vo'qov is TRIBBLE and the only reason she is not using disruptors right now is because she cannot afford or buy elite fleet weapons and she hasent gotten the Honor Guard set. I hardly craft or upgrade and STB sound like a lot of fun.
One more thing: If I have to join certain fleets then count me out. My fleetmates are good men and very helpful, my fleet leader is in the DPS scoreboard and hes a great guy.

I believe we're not set to invite only anymore, so just type /channel_join Star Trek Battles into chat. There's no requirement to be in a fleet (but if anyone needs one, we do have several that support the channel).

For gear, I'd actually advise against running too many elite fleet disruptors. Typically with disruptors, you want to mix different flavors. Normal, nanite, elite fleet, maybe even polarized if you have some points into flow caps? I'd recommend against Elachi and bio-molecular, the beams are a noticeably different color, and the Elachi cannons shoot bananas :P

If the chat command doesn't work, leave your @handle here and I'll send you an invite when I get on this afternoon/evening.

Thank you for the suggestion. Would I get to use disruptor-plasma beams? They look like disruptors. And my kdf will take no part right now because she has poloron beams and the omni-antiproton beam as well as the grav torp, my rom is using polarons and photons right now and hes off to Mol'Rhian to get rom plasma weapons. My fed is ready to fight in STB!

The plasma-disruptor hybrids are fine to use, if you want. They look like normal disruptors.

Probably. But The Oberth of 43DPS, combined with my skill level means I do no damage, and constantly die. And that was in a SB24.

So I asked reddit if builds were essential to this game and someone sent me this way telling me that you guys were friendly and played the game like the shows. I've recently started over fresh but I'm gonna keep grinding, but is this the place to be when i want to group up and play startrek for fun?

    Thanks for answers in advance.

For context, this is the thread he posted on reddit,

    his question was this:
So I was looking to get into this game after a long time away from it. Fresh start and what not. The problem is that when I look around on "playing" the game all I see are super optimized builds for maximum damage.

Am I allowed to play this game like its stsrtrek? With tense situations and danger? Or do I have to go the super optimized route to get anywhere? Can I use lower tier ships on higher missions as long as I have the right equipment?

Thank you in advance for answers.

And this was what I said that pointed him here:
If you want the "star trek" experience, I'd point you at the Star Trek Battles[1] in-game channel. What they basically do is get in canon ships, in canon loadouts, and fly STF's the canon way.

Or, if that's not what you want, you can take a any ship, give it the right gear, and still use them in missions.

You're allowed to play the game however you want. My only requests (and that's all they can be are requests) are that you don't belittle other people's playstyles, and that if you go into a team environment, your team is either already aware of what you're bringing and okay with it or you pull your weight in the queue.
    SCM - Crystal C. (S) - [00:12] DMG(DPS) - @jarvisandalfred: 8.63M(713.16K) - Fed Sci

    SCM - Hive (S) - [02:31] DMG(DPS) - @jarvisandalfred: 30.62M(204.66K) - Fed Sci

    Tacs are overrated.
