Personally I think the Jupiter looks hideous, and the missions/maps that feature it (as an NPC ship, AI reinforcements, opponent, or mere background scenery) should be revamped to replace it with a Galaxy-X/Odyssey.
I don't mind the Typhoon. It could use a retouch though, as the model doesn't look that high quality from what I remember.

See, it seems to me that this would be the best time to finally bring the Typhoon and Jupiter classes to the players. I'll reiterate something I said ages ago in this thread:
My hopeful expectation is that if they're not available at the launch of Delta Rising, that they will come in a second wave of tier 6 ships with new hybrid boffs, as Cryptic have indicated there will be others in addition to intelligence ones.
Since the Typhoon and Jupiter don't look the slightest bit stealthy, intelligence boffs don't seem to fit. What I'd expect and like is a 'support' hybrid boff seat. These would have powers similar to the career specific 'fleet' powers players get at level 50, in that they affect not only your own ship, but every ship on your team.
However they do them, I'd just love to see them released. Fingers crossed!

The feds are the only faction that has no dedicated battleship or carrier, not including lockbox ships or the galaxy-x of course. Klingons have their carrier, rommies of course have the scimitar, feds HAVE the typhoon but not playable of course, granted the feds do have the most ships in the game

Both ships are literally just thrown together from parts of other ships. IIRC, the Jupiter lower hull is an upsidedown main hull from a Patrol Escort, the pylons appear to be Cheyenne pylons rotated 90 degrees, etc. The Typhoon's saucer is a stretched LRSV saucer, the nacelles are from an Advanced Escort, etc.
I would like to see at least the Typhoon redesigned to have original parts while still keeping its basic design as it currently exists. The Jupiter would need some serious work before I would consider it though, the flying bathtub doesn't work for me.
The universe has a wonderful sense of humor. The trick is learning how to take a joke.
My photonic fleet ability still spawns plenty of glorious Typhoons. But I'm still a bit pissed at the developers for making the sector space 'abandoned ships' Typhoons. Because, one, Starfleet doesn't do that to decommissioned vessels, and two, it feels like a deliberate snub at those of use long asking for the ship. That might not have been the intention, but that's the vibe I get from it.

Photonic fleet and Fleet Support Typhoons got finally replaced with command cruisers.
I don't want to step on anyone's toes here, but I am grateful for that. It's about time the ship models got overhauled and the Typhoon model still looks hideous.
I am, however, still in favour of a T6 Oddyssey-typhoon skin option. It does, however, not justify being a separate ship in my book.

Well looks like that new Omega Variant of the FED Carrier took a Very tiny amount of inspiration from the Jupiter's Shape, so we have that to tide us over unless that design doesn't win lol.
I was looking for this thread. And it's not that tiny of an inspiration, it's the Jupiter with the middle struts between the hulls taken out.
