Typhoon Class Battleship U.S.S. Fury of UrAnus BUT YOU CAN'T SEE THIS!!………

Originally designed in response to the Klingon war. built for combat, powerful in both offensive and defensive operations. The Typhoon is a key instrument of war on any line.

Unique Overpowered Weapon: Dual-Hyper Quantum Torpedo Launcher (Think of a Battlestar firing it's frontal cannons, except it's the Typhoon;))

This weapon fires 2 Quantum Torpedoes, although weaker than your average Quantum torpedo the launcher accelerates overtime as long as the selected target stays within the Firing Arc. The weapon is fused into it's own weapon slot in the front.
    • Firing Arc: 90 degrees
    • Reload Time: 6/2 Seconds (Accelerates Overtime)
    • May not be unequipped
    • Is effected by Projectile Weapons Doffs
    • Not effected by Buff powers such as Torpedo Spread/High Yield

    Unique Overpowered Console: Fortification Mode

An Experimental console fortifys the Battleship's hull giving it greater defense, more damage to all weapons, but at the cost of turn rate.
    • Will stay active as long as it's turned on
    • Automatically Reduces Cool Down on the Dual-Hyper Quantum Whatever to 2 Seconds
    • +300 All damage Resistance Rating
    • Turn Rate is reduced to 5
    • +25 to all energy and projectile weapon damage

    Bass Stats
    • Hull: 40,000; 43,000 Fleet
    • Shield Modifier: 1.0; 1.2 Fleet
    • Crew: 1500
    • Device Slots: 4
    • Weapons: 5 Front 4 Aft
    • Bridge Officers: Lieutenant Commander Tactical Ensign Tactical Commander Engineering Lieutenant Science Lieutenant Universal
    • Console Modification: 3 Tactical (4 for Fleet) 5 Engineering 1 Science
    • Turn Rate: 7
    • Impulse Modifier: 0.10
    • Inertia Rating: 20
    • Bonus Power: +10 Weapons +10 Shields
    • All Cruiser Commands
    • May Not Equip Dual Cannons
    • Must Have Tier 5 Shipyard

    Tryin' to kill time again
Yes, I gave it the stats of some kind of freaky weird cruiser. BUT IT'S A BATTLESHIP!
    What do you think?

I support the correct classes of these two vessels. Since the Jupiter is definitely an Dreadnought and probably even an Dreadnought Carrier since it is so massive..

    Typhoon is definitely an Battleship.
The Rising of the Delta is the best expansion ever, and people love it to death because it is a good day to die in the endless struggle for supremacy of your own conviction. (A spin off of the Delta Rising is the best expansion ever and all the players love it.)

I support the Jupiter class on 2 conditions.

    1. It be a frigate carrier. The fed is way overdue for one.
    2. It gets a visual overhaul. Right now, its almost at an Avenger level of fugly.

I also support the Typhoon. Though it also needs some sprucing up.

number 2 is already assured. the last i heard the devs have saod that if these 2 ships went playable they would get an overhaul on visual design.

A Dreadnought is a Battleship, a heavily armed one at that.

The definition of a Dreadnought is "a type of battleship introduced in the early 20th century, larger and faster than its predecessors and equipped entirely with large-calibre guns."

That's the definition of a sea dreadnaught not a space one.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

I shot enough of the damn things (Typhoons anyway) in the Alternate Universe invasion group mission.

We should have the option to fly them as well. Count me in.

Guys, this isn't a discussion thread about details; it's a support thread. Could we keep it on topic and make it easier for the OP to count how many people support the idea? Cryptic can work out the details if and when they decide to add them.

    This.

Let's not derail the thread with pointless bickering. Let's come together in our love for these two beasts that are so ugly, they're pretty. :D

Quote: The Typhoon Class is a dreadnaught that will most likely not appear as a playable ship until we increase the skill point cap to full Admiral. Even then, we haven't yet decided if this will be a player ship, but we can be convinced to make it so if there is enough support for it.

1: The Typhoon is a BATTLESHIP and will be referred to as such on this thread. The JUPITER is a DREADNAUGHT.

2: This is SUPPORT thread, and not for discussion. Use the 100's of other threads for that.

3: As said above, If there is enough support for the Typhoon and Jupiter classes, they will have a good chance to be added.

4: If you don't agree, don't post please, or at least be nice about it.

5: Go and post! For we WILL have these SSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHIIIIPPPPPPPPPPSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!

I support a Jupiter class Dreadnought and especially a Typhoon class battleship! My Avenger feels a bit sluggish and small these days compared to the KDF battlecruisers.

though its just my opinion i think either the Jupiter should be a sci/tact dread and the typhon eng/tac.

or better yet have both some like the scim with three sligthy different variants though that may be just cause i like mixing up various ship parts :D

Yes and no, the Typhoons In sto is a mass produced Battleship originally designed for the Klingon war. In a old video game for play station known as Star Trek Incursion® the Typhon is a Carrier launched In response to a massive Borg invasion commanded by Worf (I think). Also the Carrier version is spelled with one O.

A Typhoon is pretty awesome, a playable vesion would have the usual 4 bow 4 aft weapon balance, a cloaking device, saucer sep? a carrier pet(s)? It would have the the same officer placement like the avenger class except the tactical would be commander and the science station would be better. Like the galaxy deadnought, dual cannons could be equipped, this would be a ship worth my zen.
For the Jupiter class, I would picture a federation version of the Klingon Vo'qov carrier. Though cryptic could add frigates to the hanger options, a commander science and two lt. cmdr. stations and a ensign seat as well. This would be a good lvl 40 ship as a carrier.

P.S: Cryptic, could you try to make some referances or ships related to the rebooted star trek movies other than Nero referances?

Considering they're not allowed to have any of the "reboot" ships in the game, and that Nero and the Hobus supernova (the only elements of those movies that exist in the prime universe) are mentioned quite often, I'm not sure what else they can do. We have the Tal Shiar adapted ships; is that not enough?

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."
