they take them out and say they will become weekend events. so I look at the calendar to see what the weekend event will be this weekend. guess what none. then the next week. guess what same. then a diltih weekend the week after that, wow we still have an 8k per day cap so hows that help lvl a toons rep, or a fleets base with marks? then another 2 weeks after that a reputation weekend. so yeah im a little upset about this change as well. I just don't understand why. as long as were playing the game why do they care if we are doing the boring poorly done missions ( KDF POINT OF VIEW ) with ZERO marks for the 100th time or playing a pve queued mission for Bonus marks a 100th time.
and yes most mission are bad if your a Klingon. outside the new tutorial they are just copy paste with the NPCs calling you wrong names and having you act like a feddy bear instead of a Warrior and even the new Step mission with Tuvok while very nice leave the Klingons who were proven correct looking like bad guys or just jerks.
Trophies for killing FEDS ahh those were the days.
I am an RPer. At most I have three characters. Rom, KDF and Fed. Any other characters I need are level 1 alts who get deleted after they've made their cameo.
BECAUSE UNLIKE SOME PEOPLE, I DON'T CREATE MINOR CHARACTERS AND FORCE THEM INTO MAJOR ROLES BY DEVOTING ENTIRE EPISODES TO THEIR STUPID CHARACTER.

I understand your anger man. I'm mad too, after 35 toons to VA it only took a few times through story missions to hate them beyond life itself. If I have to fcking search New Romulus one more time I swear to god I will annihilate from orbit with my ship. All I do now is slowly doff to VA. I still have to go through those excruciating missions to at least DOFF but I get there.

There are some people who create minor characters then they level them. So next thing you know, you have people with 1000 characters.
Who the hell creates 50 alts with the intent to max them all out? There are only two factions and three possible class combos.
Mainly RPers.
First off, there is 2 factions, 3 careers, and 1 sub-faction. That makes possible 12 different toon combinations. Second, you obviously do not know how make money in-game.
Do the same missions over and over for the 50 chars you can have on one account, and you begin to hate not just the missions, but life itself.
Trust me, Mirror Event gets boring faster than about anything except maybe STFs.
Story content actually has story behind it - which, if you think about it, makes it better. Also, you only have to run each story mission once per character (you don't even have to run all of them since you'll be at level 50 by the time you reach the Casrdassia missions) instead of doing mirror event ad nauseum.
There are also system patrols, enemy encounters, exploration clusters, DOffs, and the Foundry to help you level up.
...Oh, baby, you know, I've really got to leave you / Oh, I can hear it callin 'me / I said don't you hear it callin' me the way it used to do?...

With things like traits and skill builds, you also want to add space/ground as part of the combo. I have space/ground-only characters of each career with specific traits and skills to maximize their potential in that area.
Sometimes I will also want to specialize a career within itself. For example, I have two PvP Ground Tacs. One of them is a melee specialist. It takes race, traits, and skills into account. I couldn't have made it a hybrid or I'd lose the bonuses I was aiming for. I just enjoy the min-max aspect of the game as it opens up more options for me. I'm sure more people feel the same way and create more alts as a result of this.

Story content DOES NOT make things better. Story content normally has pointless filler that you have to do in addition to travel and cutscenes. So if you think I'm going to run 50 of the same bs that I didn't like the first time, and hate with a passion by the 10th time then idk what koolaid you're drinking.
MUI is clean and efficient for leveling characters. Sure no talent pugs slow it down but its STILL BETTER THAN EPISODE MISSIONS.
System patrols only exist for feds. Enemy encounter are level scaled depending where you are. Exploration clusters require moving all over the place. Doffs are good but level gated. Foundry is ok. but just ok.

This^^^ Story, for me, trumps quick and easy XP (in part because XP is too easy to get in this game, anyway, and because I hate repeatedly doing the same thing over and over and over and over (and over and over...)). Don't forget that they remastered 12 missions in the fed story line, and removed some of the worst ones. With XP boosts you're only talking 35ish missions to get to VA, about half way through the Romulan arc (on Fed Chars). Queuing for SB24 or the other queued events will break that up a bit more. Foundry/Exploration/Doffing... There are enough other ways to get skill points to level a char without doing too many of the "story missions" if that's not your thing.
THIS IS MADNESS
Where is the mirror event!??
I spend over $800 on this game for what? So you can remove not only the mirror event but ALL THE EVENTS?!
SOME OF US HAVE CHARS TO LEVEL! HOW DOES THIS BENEFIT US?! SHAME! SHAME!
I SPENTZ TEH MONEZ!! Entitlement much?
For your sake i hope you take yourself serious, because it'd be sad if nobody at all took you serious.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

How about playing missions in order to level? Besides that Doffing allows you to level more than quick enough.
But I would like to have the Mirror Event as a Daily at least back....
So why did they remove the only good mission for lvling new toons and getting good expertise for the endless amount of reputation grinds? Why were the hourly events even removed? They gave me reason to do certain missions at certain times. There are missions I wont even bother with now because of no bonus.

MU Event is coming back as a CE-esque event. It's also being totally revamped. This is, presumably, the CE-like event that D'Angelo mentioned in a recent interview.
Agreed, bring back Mirror Event. Its a great mission, you can lvl your toon pretty fast, and its the only good way to make the hundreds of thousands of expertise that you need for the endless supply of reputation grinds.
I was pretty ticked off when I read it. I see as Cryptic defining how we play the game. "You wanna Mirror? Do it on OUR schedule." Then I read the reason why and it makes no sense to me. Making it more accessible? No. There are hundreds of thousands of players with the same variance in schedules. Hourly, daily, seems to be the best way to reach and cater to all the different schedules ppl have. But I guess Cryptic has other ideas. I guess they needed more numbers on the weekends.
About the only thing we can do is hope we all have all weekend to play. TRIBBLE the family time, TRIBBLE the social life, TRIBBLE the ppl who work on the weekend, as long as Cryptic gets their weekend numbers up.
I don't see my tolerance lasting much longer. I already quit giving Cryptic my money in anticipation of leaving the game. The grind, and the "play the game the way WE want you to play" attitude are ruining what used to be an awesome experience. There's been some great content, but it's not enough to sugar-coat the TRIBBLE that Cryptic is handing out. It's just no FUN anymore. With all the grind, I don't even have time to play with friends.
Luckily, I have time on the weekends to play. Maybe the rewards will be worth it and it won't be so bad. For ME. But I still feel more ppl are gonna get screwed than are gonna be happy about this. But Cryptic doesn't care about happy. Maybe the devs do, but certainly not the bean counters, whose grubby thumbs the devs are held under. They just want ppl signed on when THEY want them signed on. Why do think all the grind is happening? Keep as many of us online as much as possible. It's the nature of the MMO beast. And until we find a way to fight it, it's the facts of MMO life.
That's not the only misson that's good for leveling, you can earn way more xp doing the story missions. I like the idea of weekend events, whole weekend of bonus marks sounds good to me.
And when bran, or any other dev, deigns to acknowledge the large number of negative opinions of the grinadaversary then you may have a point.
However, while devs swarm all over threads congratulating them on their hard work, while utterly ignoring all criticisms, doom and gloom seems about right.
Thankfully reality is based on what factually exists rather than what you feel exists, and with the MU Event being revamped and made permanent like the CE event, reality does have the bias that it is not doom and gloom for the I.S.S. Stadi and its task force.
I really hope it pays out a TON of XP, because in one hour of the old event, I could grind out 150,000 exp reliably. That is really the only source of big XP once your reach endgame too.
Since MUI is gone as we knew it, I hope they do a remastering of it similar to how they did with Crystalline Entity. Having a permanent PVE queue that rewards SP/XP, dil, and choice of marks. Then running an event 2x per year where you do it and get normal rewards + something that you collect x of to get xyz as the event reward.
They applied so much unnecessary changes in the past you wouldn't want to believe it. All those things where fine, in fact with most things im refering to it was simply equal to Revamping STF's for the 5th time. They did that with tons of things.
Wasted time. The game could've progressed and matured alot more if it werent for those horribly bad decisions, and they are still doing it. Albeit not as much as when they where totally getting loose after Atari sold STO to PWE. lol
