My testing has shown me this:
Launched under arc, first character sees email and eventually saw the costume
KDF character launched under ARC, saw costume bits but didnt create costume.
relaunched character without arc, couldnt see costume bits
re-relaunched under arc, saw costume and created/saved it
re-re-relaunched without arc and could still see costume and wear it

So basically somehow ARC is passing info that you are using it and unlocking the costume
and if you dont save that costume, it treats it like it doesnt exist any other time.

Tested this on two machines: one running STO through ARC, another running STO natively (no ARC)

    - Had to unlock the outfit on each character separately through ARC, which I think is due to the customized e-mail that states the character's name and rank treating the unlock like a character unlock as opposed to a one-time log-in and an simple account unlock that was supposed to be occurring.

    - Did NOT make any outfit using the pieces from the set. Outfit unlocked on all characters through ARC

    - Logged into game using native system on a Fed character, saw the pieces in tailor.

    - Logged into game using native system on a KDF character, saw the pieces in tailor.

    - Logged into game using native system on a Fed-aligned Romulan, saw the pieces in tailor.

    - Logged into game using native system on a KDF-aligned Romulan, saw the pieces in tailor.

This shows that it IS working and viewable in tailor screen while running the game without using ARC. It may be possible that you had a minor glitch that wouldn't let you see the pieces when you re-logged onto that character without ARC. If the problem still persists for you, submit a bug report about the problem.

I trust it will be going into the C-Store or something when it gets removed from Arc, then?

If not... bit of a waste if characters created after a set date can't access the outfit.

dunno at this time, the worf stuff from the TNG S1 freebie never has

With the Khan outfits, it's not an account unlock like they said it was. You have to be on ARC and log into every single character, then get the E-mail to unlock it.

With the Bridge set, if you properly claimed it, all you have to do is go to the Ship Customization NPC at the Shipyard, click on the Bridge Set Tab, and scroll down til you find the set. If it's not there, then you better file a CSR Ticket.
Regarding the bolded part, where in the blog post did it say that it was ACCOUNT unlock?
We?re pleased to announce that we are giving STO players who have downloaded and tested the beta version of the new Arc client a FREE Khan uniform set!

Claiming your exclusive uniforms is easy! Simply log into Star Trek Online via the Arc client and read the ?thank you? message from the team that will be waiting for you in your in-game mailbox. After, make sure to stop by the tailor and outfit your captain in the incredible Khan uniforms pictured above. To gain access to this uniform on all of your characters, make sure that you log into each of them while running the game client via Arc.
In that little blurb from the blog post, it says nothing about it being account-wide. so where did you come up with it being account-wide unlock? I think you may have thought that this was something like the Horta or the Bridge pack, because those are account-wide unlocks. The Khan outfit is different.

    To All

The First Day Free gift has not be obtained by any of my Toons and I have six (6) unused clothing slots available, but am not able to retrieve them. I turned a ticket and the instructions that I received from Support does not work. I replied that the instructions do not work and now I get no answers. So far for the First Day gift for using ARC has had about a dozen updates and still nothing that has helped to resolve this...
    Live Long and Prosper

Did you open the email first?
Did you try to switch to "off duty" on the head customization tab?.
You cannot do this on your first costume slot.
Then go to the uniform tab. It should be a drop down option in half the areas. Pants are the tight pants category, "lower" section.

    Hi Captains,

In order to claim this uniform on each of your characters, please sign into Arc and log into one character, and then while still in Arc, switch to your other characters so they too may unlock the uniform. This is a change in claiming instructions from what was posted yesterday and will ensure all characters on your account gain access to the uniform. We'll also be updating the blog with this info.

    Enjoy!

    Cheers,

    Brandon =/\=

To quote from the in-game mail: "This costume set... is now available for every character on this account."

    Except it isn't.

Many Thanks for the information provided.

The First Day Gift, yes I was in ARC, then opened the Mail and tried to obtain the Khan uniform. I did it this way for each Toon and it has not worked for any of the Toons.............

My mistake. Thought this was the Starfleet uniform for WoK.

This uniform's description is clearly misleading. It claims to be bare chest but Mitten's Chest is clearly fuzzy.

I am so sorry but I just tried again and am not getting anywhere with this. So sorry to be so dense.

I just got the Khan Uniform straighten out.

Will try to work on the Bridge item next.

Still do not know what to do on the Tier 5 Dyson Sphere clothing/uniform that was obtained by completing the project that unlocked Tier 5.

Again thanks to all that provided information to resolve this issues/problems.

All symptoms of a rushed, poorly conceived and poorly executed attempt at mollifying a community largely fed up with the whole business model; at least from what I can observe. Nothing more frustrating than being offered a loyalty incentive, but without clear and unambiguous instructions on how to realize it. For example, a combat pet is used as DEVICE, not PERSONNEL, so why would a rational person look in the personnel tab? Of course, the announcement e-mail had none of that detail in it, so some of us missed the bonus completely.

TBH, the dev's would better use their time building content and fixing weaknesses in the game engine than this trivia...
Expendables Fleet: Andrew - Bajoran Fed Engineer Ken'taura - Rom/Fed Scientist Gwyllim - Human Fed Delta Tac
Savik - Vulcan Fed Temporal Sci
    Dahar Masters Fleet: Alphal'Fa - Alien KDF Engineer Qun'pau - Rom/KDF Engineer D'nesh - Orion KDF Scientist Ghen'khan - Liberated KDF Tac

Nice. Last night, you folks said you were working on a solution to the problem. Today, your solution is not to fix the issue, but to adapt the blog's wording instead. Laaaazyyyyy.

    Again many Thanks...................

The Khan Uniform issue has been resolved now thanks to all that helped me on/in the Forum.

The Ship Bridge issue has been resolved also.

It is not surprising that we get free items from STO and the instruction leave a lot to be desired or they are just totally incorrect. But the big problems is when you install the free items it cost you EC. Not very Free.....................................

As Far as I am concerned this thread is closed.

    Any help, thanks guys!

In the Advanced settings versions of Head or Uniform, in the upper right hand corner, select the Off Duty option from the drop down menu, and boom, you will gain access to all the Khan uniform items.

Note that this will only work on your second or later slot; your primary costume slot doesn't have the Off-Duty option.

Is that rather rude calling it lazy. We are in a week of freebies, a season .5 launch, an anniversary event. Don't you think everyone has enough on the plate.

You have got the solution. Enough said. It is a freebie outfit for you to hopefully enjoy. be grateful.

Given that doing the workaround last night on seven toons on two accounts took me less than ten minutes of sitting on my butt, who's being lazy here?

Updated ARV via the prompt in the forum offer.

Arc "repaired" my installation via "repair" choice.

Entered STO, got mail, read mail.

Tried then, and tried today to access uniforms, no luck.

Fed aligned Rommie, Tried clicking on the "head", no off-duty option.

Please advice exactly where this off-duty option is? I haven't used Tailors until now and can't tell for sure, but at first glance it looks like I don't have access to it.

(I am using the "Customize Clothing" option (tailor) in New Romulus Command, which is one of the places explicitly mentioned in the announcement.

All this confusion clearly shows that the button to switch between Uniform/Off-Duty/Formal/etc. is NOT well placed and should be moved to a more prominent spot. I can see no logical reason as to why it is placed in the "Head" section.
