Then, you should know that your support is making cryptic not to do anything more than gain money from you. They will never fix the game if people keep filling their pockets even if they know this is the game with more bugs in the history of the videogames. But you right, i should not talk for everyone, but believe me, there is no sense in paying lifetime subs, not even a monthly one. You support a company when they do a great job and the game deserves it. This is not the case. But again, if you cant realize this, i cant tell you anything more.. it will be useless. Ive been playing mmorpgs since years and years ago, and i never saw a case like this. But usually, rich people are not used to think before they do things, they just do it.
Cryptic did a really good job with the game, when it was released, even with all the bugs back then, but after more than 3 years, the quantity of bugs has increased exponentially, something that it is ridiculous, and they keep releasing new stuff creating even more bugs, and they dont fix them!!!, so in the end, more and more bugs, and they never get fixed. The reason is, they know people will pay for anything they sell, even if in the end the game is just unplayable. So they prefer to invest time and resources on releasing stuff instead of solving bugs. And you are paying for that. Ok, is your choice, but..
I really loved the game so far, but i am not a fool, and even if i was golden member 2 months ago, i am no longer giving more money to cryptic. Not more than the monthly zen purchase that i do (and really low quantities).
Branflakes indicated that they are aware of it, and it should be released in a patch, maybe this week's.
The down side of the event calendar missing, is that nothing runs. So the Marks Event, you don't get any bonus marks for doing STFs. And the Academy Event, you can't scan the particle traces... and so forth, until they get it running again.
Couple of days before newyear, the game crashed. I believe that that was the actual cause of this problem. After the crash every event was ended, even though they weren't started yet.
That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.
Is this issue with the events an issue? yes.
Are the multitude of errors in this game an annoyance? yes.
Is the lvling alternate to completing the storyline missions borked, even if only by a bit (i.e. the fed's ability to do system patrols, or all factions doing mirror invasion)? yes.
Do we wish the game could be fixed? Well, duh. that's why we're here, right?
That being said, fixing code is not as simple as the average player would think. Nor is it as simple as some of the people here make it out to be.
This is in no way giving the devs a bone and saying 'It'll be okay little guy, fix it when you want.'
It is, however, someone simply asking for everyone to get a grip on reality, and realize that:
A) this is a game the devs whose job it is to run this game do have lives other than this game, and that the likelyhood of the vast majority of them being away for break is a real possibility
C) (for pwe) this game has issues that really need fixing
D) it needs fixing asap
E) (again for pwe) new content is less important than fixing coding errors
P.S. Flakes, could you actually answer this question of mine? What is the feasability of shutting the game down for a day or two and fixing any and all errors that pop up (assuming you don't factor in money issues)?

Let me say this, as a Lifetime Player, don't speak for me or the majority! We support this game, it's quirks, it's downtimes and any and all of the idiotic content they choose to throw into it. We know what the TOS means and we also know that just because something goes down, doesn't give you the right to rage in a forum about Lifetime Players and what we have supported these past 4 years in order for YOU to play. Our wallets and devotion and love for this game goes far and beyond what you choose to trade in or grind for. Shame on you for this post and the labeling of it's playerbase. I may NOT agree with some of the things that are posted on this forum, but I'll be damned if people like you continuously slam what most of us LIFETIME players have done to keep this game alive and everything the dev team has done to attempt to keep this game going. If you don't like it, grab a tissue, uninstall the game, and exit stage left.
To Cryptic, he doesn't represent me as a Lifetime Player and I fully support everything you do to fix the broken, input new content or anything else that carries our sorry, unsupported toons to year 5.
I agree with this. Please speak for yourselves and not the community.
I'd much rather see you all channel your constructive energy to the much needed Foundry fixes!!

Huh? I'm not rich. Not even close. Besides, I bought a lifetime sub a couple months ago during the most recent sale. $200 today isn't much compared to 20 years ago.
And if you don't like the state of the game then why still play it? Seriously. All MMOs have at least a few bugs in them.
The reason why I finally bought lifetime sub after playing for over a year is because I think they deserved it. There have been a lot of improvements, more responses on bugs here on the forums (even if it's just updating a thread title to let us know they're working on it, and more importantly listening to player feedback and adding things and/or making changes in game according to what WE want.
Carrier pet UI was requested for a while and eventually added.
Lobi crystals finally made account bound, after a long time of requests for it.
Reputation sponsorship program. Not exactly account-wide rep, but it does help a lot. They have also said they will monitor feedback on the Dyson rep and maybe change the older reps to work similarly.
LoR expansion.
Avenger class battlecruiser. (that thing is freakin' sweet, especially the fleet version )
They finally made fleet veteran ships, fleet caitian atrox, fleet kar'fi, etc., which had been requested for a while.
Just some examples of good things they've done.
Are there bugs in the game? Hell yes. But the game is pretty fun if you can find ways to work around them.
P.S. How you rate a game to consider whether or not it is worth your money is different than how I would rate it. I don't just look at bugs in the game and go "TRIBBLE these guys, they not get no more of my monies :angry face:". If I at least see an effort to try to improve things I'll help support the game financially. But if they had a total lack of caring, I wouldn't have played this game for a year.
As I posted a few posts back, it's on tribble and seems to be working so I would expect it to hit tomorrow morning to holodeck. I have also updated the thread title to show it's on tribble.

I call it, the Stoutes paradox.

Paid in Full,
Pax ab Astris
Are they gone for good or is this some sort of temporary issue? Anyone know?
I haven't seen any mention in release notes or announcements about this.
(I wish some of them lasted longer and were available more frequently or more than one were available at the same time....)
I noticed when I expanded the calendar it seemed to plot weirdly too.
(Hmm, scavenger hunt - find the current event...)
