Anyone else having issues seeing their Today's Events box and calendar schedule? My Events box and calendar has been blank on all my characters for the past three or four days now. I can't see which bonus events are currently running or future one to participate in. I've submitted a ticket but I was also wondering if I was the only one...

Brandon mentioned that they are working on a fix, and it should be out in next week's patch.
Odd that is: they are willing to schedule a few hour maintenance... to patch *nothing*, but then let us wait a week to restore the calender. I bet, when asked, a great many peeps wouldn't mind being without STO for another 2 hours, if it means getting the events back. But maybe that's just me.

That's about 40,000 exp.
An elite STF earns you ~2400 exp. So do most mission replays.
An elite STF takes about 15 minutes at best, if you average ground and space. If you could back to back these things perfectly then that would mean 4.5 hours of pure STF grinding to just fill the daily rep grinds, in a PERFECT scenario. A more normal scenario you're looking at a 9-5 job just to fill your rep projects!

To the devs:
You should be granting everyone's characters a special 1 time rep project (in Omega, Rom, and Nukara) good for like 50k rep exp to make up for this.

Yup, I have it blank since 2013 as well...For these guys it's just a game, not a business... If I'd sell fails like these to my customers, I'd be out in the street begging for food...
In case it hasn't been said, or even if it has: the calendar will be fixed by 09JAN if all goes well. Because the calendar isn't functioning, none of the actual events are being triggered, so there's no Fleet Bonus hours or Dilithium Mining event occuring behind the scenes. None of that will happen until the bug fix.
I, too, am surprised they forgot we're having a 2014 this year, but that's the biz. Target lost 40,000,000 credit card numbers to a hack. This pales in comparison, so let's keep some perspective, eh?

The XP requirements for the Dyson rep are a joke, so minimal. Just from running several Breach Elite missions per day, or just shooting Voth in the Contested Zone, turns out I gained about 2mil extra XP by the time I reached Tier 5. Yawn.

Or not.. i will not be surprised, cryptic is literally doing nothing to keep their customers in the game. If it is very weird that there are still so many people playing the game, more strange is that cryptic doesnt even mention about any reward for the lost time or any compensation. But well, any compensation for cryptic will mean to lose anything, and i guess they dont want to. Fortunately my patience with these guys is over, and i not only canceled my sub, but im not going to waste a single eur to these guys. Not anymore.

Dyson rep needs zero XP, period. Zero EC, zero resources whatsoever. All you need to do is one of the daily missions for 40 days.
Dyson rep isn't the issue, the problem are the Nukara, Omega and Romulan factions if you are playing a character that hadn't done those yet. Myself, I started working on the factions only some time ago, and I'm still at tier 3 on most of them. I have some XP to burn but it won't last very long - and those three reputations really do eat XP, about half a million XP per reputation from zero to five for the first character (total of roughly 1,500,000 I think), and half that for any subsequent characters through the sponsor project.
Not to mention of course getting the marks themself from ESTF missions. It's easy enough to get dyson marks from battlezone and rommy marks from epohh tagging, but at least for me the queues were the main source of nukara and omega marks - and while the marks event is in no way necessary for getting the marks, the bonus still helps make it more rewarding.
It's not a problem for me if the event system is down for a few weeks, it wouldn't really be a problem if the whole game went down for a month. But I'd probably be a bit more upset if I had paid monthly sub for January. The event system does have a fairly important place in the game, and I feel the priority for fixing it should be high - for the people who actually care whether STO is around and working any given day.
Most likely not until our next scheduled maintenance, which would be next week. We recognize that it is a long time, so we apologize for the inconvenience. We still need work on the resolution, test the fix internally, get it into a build, and then to Tribble, etc. The events are not occurring and can't occur without them being listed in the "today's events" section, so unfortunately none of the hourly events are able to run until the fix is live.
