Yes on Kilts. That doesn't need any reason, just make it happen. Kilts.

And I'd also vote yes on the Skant, referably in a few variants like another poster said so it offers a practical duty kilt-esque variant as well. Why? Simply to TRIBBLE off narrow minded people who are afraid of anything that induces insecurity about themselves :D And second because, like another poster said, it is a weird icon of TNG by itself and STO is a colourfull theme park of Star Trek gimmicks rather than a game, so this belongs there.

Only if my male character can have hairy legs.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

    Yes all of my Yes

as a female player i want to dress my males up in these ^^

    gimme them hairy legs :P

but in all seriousness, why not? it's a uniform just like any other. I don't particularly care for people shouting canon all the time to exclude or include something just because it was in the shows. but i look at it as, is it fun? is it cool? is it star trek themed?

if you get 2 out of three, then let it be in

and my friends the skant is all three :D

Both men and women worn the outfit during the early TNG shows. So I would get it, and have my women BOFFs wear it. So I'm support of seeing it on the game.

I don't get the argument that it would somehow "ruin" the game for anyone, by the way. When I log into the game I see so many horrible "uniform" designs people come up with (most of them look like rejected Marvel superheroes or anime characters) and you don't see me complaining. But dog forbid a piece of uniform that was on the show because it doesn't fit most people's preferences and would totally ruin their "immersion".

Sure, if the skant gets released I do expect for a few month the majority of male characters to run around in pink variants of it, mostly by people who want to make a statement (though they probably don't make the one they were hoping for :p ) but it won't influence my gameplay any other than one hundred jonny bravo/albert weskers with maximum shoulder width sliders or human skin toned naked Orion women.

If it were restricted to female characters/NPCs, I would have no issue with buying it.

Thankfully, the idea of men wearing skirts died out fairly quick in TNG. A "unisex" version of a uniform skirt was a ridiculous concept to begin with.

The closest thing to a skirt that men should be wearing is a kilt, kimono, or robe.

They have talked about it. Nearly did it last year before deciding to do the standard TNG uniforms first.

They have, I think, mentioned it as a candidate for a TNG replica interior bundle.

I get the impression that TNG and Voyager (and maybe TOS film) interiors are something the devs have had their eye on for some time.

Interiors don't sell that well and they haven't had a clear plan for interiors so I get the impression that any work done for it is very small amounts of work done in very small amounts of downtime, with devs slipping requests for assets that could be used in a TNG bundle into other content.

I think Cryptic Cat and Taco Fangs may have worked up a few of the engineering or shuttlebay consoles.

I fully expect a skant in STO. I don't expect it to be sold alone unless for Lobi.

It looks weird enough, I'm sure they want people to drop major coin on it to keep it from being too common or something people use to visually troll each other with.

We really do need a full TNG Costume Pack!

That thing, the Dress Uniform, a few of the Off-Duty Outfits (you know the Training suits and such) AND we need the Antedeans and the Selay for the Alien Creator!

My big requests are the Admiral uniform from late seasons (word by Admiral Riker in AGT) and technician jumpsuits.

We are living in the 21st Century. Star Trek is also product of it's time, not always "what could be".

Fortunately, a lot of that off-the-wall craptrap from the first couple of seasons of TNG was forgotten about in later seasons and shows.

That's just my opinion on the matter.

As far as the game goes, whatever floats your boat.

This. If people can have stripper-orions and TRIBBLE bare-stomach winter coats, then I can have a simple and modest tunic for male characters.

For all intents and purposes, Riker was joking and setting up Wolf for another one of his famous ribbings.

And you can lay off the politically correct bulls**t and leftard assumptions when addressing my posts. It's a tired, old debate tactic. And you apparently don't know what the word "sexist" actually means. Look it up sometime. Also, your assumptions are dangerously bordering on personal attacks.

Want to discuss something with me? Do so in civil manner, and I will be happy to. Even if I don't agree with your views on a given subject.

By the way, I'm not "outmoded". I'm a "realist". Something you little "idealists" have no comprehension of. Because it involves life experience leading to an understanding of how thing really work in the world.

Anyway, I've said what I'm gonna say about the uniform piece. I shall bow gracefully out of this thread before this knucklehead causes me to get it locked and me banned with his trolling.

    Peace out

I'm hoping for Khan hair or bobs on men, bare chest, skant, and miner boots with skant. Add a broadsword. Then I can play a captain from a barbarian planet. I imagine they'd allow someone from such a planet to observe his beliefs while captaining a starship.

I will withdraw my objections to a skant if Cryptic adds in authentic dress kilts with the ability to apply custom colors to the tartan (plaid) pattern.

I will immediately roll a Human Starfleet Engineer as soon as that option is available. :D

I could not possibly care less how other players dress-up their characters.

It is, however, endlessly entertaining to see how quickly some other players are to publicly parade their insecurity about their own sexuality.

Let them wear skants if they want. Let them dress their male characters in outfits currently restricted to female characters for all I care. Doing so would have zero effect on how I play the game.

Kilts should definitely be added, they should have a few different plaid patterns and a much larger colour pallet, Like the new WoK one, but with the Klingon + Romulan pallets added to it

Skants for both men and women, with the option to wear them with trousers as was seen a few times

I imagine the reason that Cryptic has been talking about this and not releasing it is because adding the skant would require additional model work to add male legs that would work with skirts and they've only just recently gotten close to getting even the female models to work with skirts properly. Conveniently, once they do that it'd be super-easy to add kilts too.

Maybe that thing Khan wears in WoK as a compromise on bare chest for the federation :P

A thousand times this. You could even update it to include some 2409 uniform versions. The TNG ones are okay but I want to see this in the Odyssey style.

the only issue I have with the skant is clearly visible in the picture the op posted. there are no good shoes to go with it. all that bare leg to end in a combat or demi boot. that's more than flesh and blood can take. if you are going to wear a skirt of any form you either need knee socks or some sort of tights or other hosiery.

Skants, where no man has gone before - Make it so Number 1

If its CANON, put it in the game, including those Fishy Aliens - we need some weirdness.

If they introduce playable Fish Aliens - I am naming mine Starkist, and I'll have it wear a SKANT.

Antedeans were a weird race. More so because the ep with them didn't spend much time actually showing them do stuff. (The Antedeans themselves were in hibernation for most of the ep)
