Hi all just a quick tip to players and the devs, the Romulan story line mission
( Trapped ) is pretty bugged, when you start the mission out you
scan three sets space junk and then you get hailed by a Hirogen that your supposed to fight but a worm hole opens up and your supposed to get puled inside, but instead your ship gets stuck on the opening on the worm hole ans bounces around and is unable to to get free
even if you type /stuck, or log out, I finally got loose after three tries and had to drop and skip the mission while still in the mission and then log out and then came back and switched to an alt and waited about ten minutes before going back to the toon that was stuck to finally have it back in sector space, thought maybe the devs if they read this could take a quick look and see whats happening with the mission
I'm stuck on mission also. How do you skip this mission and move on.
Only way I found was to drop the mission then join a PvE queue that resolved it for me

Stuck there too. Submitted a GM ticket in hopes that I get dropped into sector space. Now that is a game breaking bug if it makes it dang near impossible to do anything as long as you're in the grav well of that Wormhole and it does NOT trigger the map change.

Just do what i said in my post above yours, drop the mission, then join a PvE queue, when the PvE mission starts that solves the problem for now.

If I'm still stuck there when I get on today, I'll try that eazzie.
That mission's gonna get skipped until its fixed. Also... I think my Andorian and her crew have a serious case of whiplash because of that bug. lol
I'm stuck at this point, too. It's annoying because it has been reported before, long enough ago that they have had ample time to fix it.
P.S. What I did when I was stuck at the entrance to the Wormhole was log out ... I did NOT drop the mission, just logged out. I waited a while, perhaps a half hour (I don't know how long it actually takes) and then logged back in to find I had been entered into the Wormhole proper and was able to complete the mission. Not a particularly satisfactory workaround but it worked. The mission still needs to be fixed.

Ok... when I logged in today I was out in Sector Space. Mission skipped! Moving on. Not trying it again until its fixed.
If you can't do a dleet mission, the only other work around is drop the mission then join a PvE queue. When the PvE mission starts that will take you out of the bugged Trapped mission.
Also now stuck in this one ... Apparently the "Gravity Well" is supposed to transport you to a new map , at least that's what all the youtube vids show, but it's broken and won't load the map ... So Cryptic need to get there A's in gear and fix this bug!
Joining a PvE queue gets you out of the stupid bouncy ball bug, and when you leave the STF map, it puts you back outside the system, but as soon as you try again, you get stuck ...
So, total newb question ... How do you skip missions? You either Accept or Dcline, but if you decline, wont that stop game progression?
I experienced the "ship bouncing around on the wormhole" variant of this issue. Twice, in fact. First time, I logged off and that was all I played for the day. The second time that I experienced the glitch, I logged off again and went to re-start STO, as I had accidentally completely closed it when I went to log off. While I was waiting, I did a web search on the matter, found this thread, read it entirely, and then went back to playing. When I rejoined, I had been booted out of the mission, and was given the option to continue the mission rather than restart. Continuing just made the game assume I had successfully gone through, bypassing the issue.
So, in summary: if you get stuck on the anomaly instead of going through it, just log out of STO, wait a minute, log back in, and select the "continue mission" option when presented with it.
As a quick fix, you can join any of the random PvE queues ("Starbase Defense etc.) and it will warp you out as soon as the event starts. Once you complete the queued event it will place you outside the NGC-1218 System and give you the option of "Continuing" or Restarting the mission ...
Restarting just results in the same bug recurring ...
Edit: Can confirm that clicking "Continue" instead of restarting the mission whilst in Sector Space, gets you passed the bouncy bubble bug ...
And having now admitted that there is an easy work around, Cryptic will probably make fixing it a lower priority ...
What ship were you in? The Scimitar? If so, I wonder if maybe they are starting to make these ships too big.
I last did the mission in an Obelisk without any problems other than running into the walls turning at full impulse in those tight turns sometimes, but never got stuck anywhere.
If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.
It's not just for Romulans ... Look in the "Bugs" forum, there are several posts about it ... Apparently when Cryptic were "improving" missions, they ran out of coffee, and the line of code that's supposed to tell the game to load the next map got left out or deleted ....
Quick Fix: Open up the PvE queue and join any of the quick missions (Starbase Defense, etc.)
Once the mission starts it will warp you to the new map (you can leave straight away, but that's not really fair to the other players, so you should stay till the end, plus it's a good bit of XP and you can pick up some loot)
Once finished, leave the map and you should be warped back to Sector Space just outside of NGC-1218, where you will have the option of "Continuing 'Trapped' ..." or "Entering NGC-1218" ... Select the 'Continue" option and it should get you past the bouncy bubble of doom bug.
And because this quick fix seems to work for most (all?) players, Cryptic will probably make fixing it a very low priority ...
Decline the mission. Before the NPC can spam you to accept it again, open your mission log and mash skip. If the NPC pops up, decline again until you can find the skip button.
Once skipped, sometimes the npc alert chain breaks and you have to manually hail the NPC to start the next mission. Do that, and you should be able to move to the next mission.
the wormhole opens and sucks me in, but i cant answer the hails because the pull is too strong and is impossible to escape, so no dialogue can pop up in 'combat mode'
cant continue as when i reload the game the dialogue box appears to continue but instantly the wormhole opens and im sucked in.
we cant even cancel the mission. when we drop it we respawn back into the giant vortex of doom.
There are numerous threads relating to this mission. The only way to skip it is. Drop it from "in progress" then join a PvE queue like The Cure or something then when that kicks in you will warp out of the mission.

this worked thank you. :P
Excuse me, excuse me, would you mind stopping that darn noise?
obscene gesture, vulcan neck pinch, claps, cheers
***NOTE***
DO NOT DROP THE MISSION It is not necessary!!!
Once you've joined, then completed the PvE/STF and have been warped back to Sector Space, you'll be just outside of NGC-1218 (where "Trapped" takes place) Make sure you click "Continue Trapped" and DO NOT click "Enter NGC1218" or it will reset the mission and you'll be right back where you started ...
The mission is bugged only in that it doesn't trigger the map change after you are sucked into the "Bouncy Bubble of Bull****" If you use the "continue" option, it should place you in the new map automatically and you can finish the mission as normal ...
One other note on this mission (possible spoiler alert) Highlight text to read
... If you are you are flying a larger ship like a Carrier, Cruiser, Battle ship, the map has some very tight tunnels, so you can easily get lost in the walls, or have your camera mess up, just be careful where and when you turn.
