The above table flip basically means I have hit a ceiling I cannot crack. 30+ tries and I cannot break 9100 >=/

Ergo, 30.0 consoles really are 150% damage increase?
Because I have a feeling that may be my ticket to five digits (i am running dilithium store ones)
3.8 x 5 = 19. (almost 20 percent increase if i upgrade?)
Would upgrading to those really expensive things really make that much of a difference here? I am concerned about diminishing returns, and wasting money i could spend elsewhere.

Almost every ship I have has no purple dmg consoles. (I think I have one ship on 15 toons that has a one lone purple mk xii... cause my mouse double clicked it lol)
IMO no the MK XII blue / MK xi purple is enough. Purple MK XII sure put em on if you really feel you have nothing better to do with your EC.
You won't get more then a little extra bit out of upgrading them.
DPS numbers imo are 40% piloting 40% build and 20% gear. Aprox.
Gear used to matter little but I guess it does make some difference now. Really that little bump to purple dmg consoles though its not whats holding you back no.
Yeah, I think I might have the same problem as rylanadionysis. I have a horrible suspicion I waste dps and time trying to position which is a pain because I don't predict where things are going to be, I just roll with the flow going after them. This strategy is probably not going to score me dps points.
Another thing I've noticed that I think I'm doing wrong... I waste a lot of dps shooting things down to 0 HP, probably not a very good idea. I'm talking about dpsing a a sphere when it's at 5% hull with buffed up beams or cannons. I'm thinking I don't need to keep firing, I've already killed it when I'm close to 2%HP. Literally killing things in the past, meaning any further target focusing is excessive damage best dealt to nearby NPCs?
Anyways, am I even making any sense?
You are to me. The last 4 percent or so in my experience is usually handled by what youve already fired into the space between you. The damage en route.
In most cases when I switch targets around 3-5 percent they still die as i am going past them. Once in a while i might have to quick give them a bump from the back weapons before flipping back forward.
I am still trying to find that perfect spot. I am convinced against spheres it is about 4% for the last volley i plan to shoot at it and switch.
That is a hard skill for me to master, because I am from the school of do not stop until confirmed kill. In PvP 1HP is still returnable from. So I am fighting my own conditioning from almost 10 years of MMO PvP.

Speak to Porchy. He'll help you get started. What's your handle?
...you do know that i have more than one toon don't you? namely raijin. i know you know who that is. *evil grin...i thought we were just having fun, but judging by the intonations of your posts, it must be personal for you.
Personal? Not at all! Please don't confuse my overwhelming need to DESTROY YOU UTTERLY with any kind of personal animosity. If anything, it should be taken as high praise. I've overcome virtually every obstacle and player I've encountered in Ker'rat. Your tag-team with I'vaan remains one of the few challenges left for me there.
Of course, if your mistaking my desire to KILL you as personal animosity prompts you to single me out for special "attention" from time to time, then by all means pour on the punishment! Because I learn something new from every successful gank, and over time that knowledge will help me to become a more effective PvP'er.
And as for the Raijin comment, well that whole incident just cries out for a rematch, so...

Obviously the time before the first shot's not displayed, but you've basically got..
00.0 Trigger
00.5 First Shot of First Cycle
01.0 Second Shot of First Cycle
03.7 First Shot of Second Cycle
04.2 Second Shot of Second Cycle
And I'm curious why there's an additional 0.2s delay, because it gives the appearance of the cycle being 2/3.2 rather than 2/3 (which the DPV/DPS numbers support). Wonder if it was changed...hilbert might know with his oodles and oodles of data.

Perhaps it's latency? Where the second cycle is actually triggered by the client, reported to the server, and then the shot report is transmitted back to the client. Since it goes both ways, it would be a ping of about 100 or thereabouts.

I had planned on testing it again, but then I got caught up in doing nothing in Ker'rat and then got caught up in farming Fleet Marks/DOFFing.
Did you see the stuff Bran leaked about the CC event?
Sneak peek of the new project's rewards: 50,000 Dilithium Ore, 500 Fleet Marks, 250 Marks of your choice (Fleet, Omega, Romulan or Nukara), and a special Very Rare Duty Officer.
Absolutely! And for players who have the old project in progress, they need to cancel* it or complete it before they see the new project. And if they have enough progress already and enough time to run the event daily during the 3 weeks it's active, they may even be able to complete both!
There is also a new bonus 1-shard project that becomes available only after completing the new rep project: 2,000 Dilithium Ore, 50 Fleet Marks and 35 Marks of your choice (Fleet, Omega, Romulan or Nukara). The old one will no longer be available to slot.
* Any existing contributions will be lost if you cancel the project.
And that's all the spoilerz for tonight! Stay tuned tomorrow morning at 10AM PDT for the news post that contains full details about the event.
Cheers,
Brandon =/\=

Read through all 20 pages of this thread, my interest is piqued. Coupla things I wanted to ask. Would I be able to build up a glass cannon of sorts capable of putting out those extreme numbers with a ship obtained via levelling, or with a Mirror ship? My IRL funds are limited, the only special ship I have that I paid money for is the Galaxy Dreadnought, and lets not start on it being a junk ship. It has problems, and I know this. Ignoring the lance, would it be capable of some of this stuff too? Or would I pretty much have to loot grind to get that previously mentioned Tholian carrier? I love my fleet, but I wanna be competitive with them somehow, even though they all drive Vestas and Oddys. While difficult, I know it can be done. Considering I only broke a million EC just yesterday after months of playing, would it be possible for me? I think it would be kinda neat to be able to nail them really hard out of the blue at least once... I'm a Tac Captain, if it helps...
Also, how do you cancel old projects? I have the one for the Risian Corvette and the one for the Crystalline Entity up, and no idea how to be rid of them...

I'm afraid it has the wrong bridge slots (not enough tac slots) for a tac ship. As for the mirror, mirror assault might be one. Tell you what, I have all these mirror ships lying about. If you want one, you can have 1 off me. @naz1911 is my handle.
Thank you kindly for the offer, but I acutally recently bought a Mirror Assault Cruiser from the exchange a while back. That hurt, lol.
My Mirror Assault Cruiser build. (Or did I mistake what you meant by Mirror Assault?)
I love the Star Cruiser body of this thing...
At the moment, that's what I have equipped to it, it's all I was able to afford. Lucked out on that Elachi DBB.
My Boff set up is blank because it's in a state of flux. I've been trying to work out a better arrangement that can suit both my cruisers and my escorts, favoring the cruisers at this time. My apologies about the lack of information there.
I feel like I'm making myself look silly considering my lack of purple items, I've been poor as dirt for most of my time in the game, but having recently been loot grinding, perhaps I can get some more appropriate weapons now. Oddly, I've been spending more time on the forums here than I have in the game. I'm trying to take things a bit more seriously with my builds.
Should I keep going with Disruptors on Crimson's Blade, or should I pick a different set of weapons for the task? I know better since I initially put together that build, so I'm certainly open to new ideas.
Is there anything I can do to offer something in return for the time and thought spent on helping me, considering you offered me an expensive(to me, lol) mirror ship?
Edit: did some looking... Unless I am mistaking what you're saying, both my Mirror Assault Cruiser and Galaxy Dreadnought have the same Tac setup. Three Tac consoles, One LT and one Ensign Boff stations...
Also, not saying you have to make the first move here, just letting you know ahead of time if I send you an In-game Mail, my handle is @sevmrage

Funny you posted this. I decided to test a couple things yesterday, the Mirror Patrol and the Mirror Assault. While these 2 ships are technically not free, the stats are the same as ships you get leveling up. I'm just using mirror versions. I used my fed engineer as it's the least developed toon I have.
They're both F2P builds. Read the notes page of the build for everything that's in it. I could probably tinker with them a bit to make them better, but the point was to see if they're viable.

I willd try to update the post with a parse of the Mirror Assault later.
On the Mirror Assault build you posted, f00k, why the three EPS Flow Regulators?
He's running an Aux2Bat build there. I'm just guessing here, but I assume it is to help get the auxiliary power back up after the dropdown period. Another possibility is he cycles power levels often, thus the usefulness in the EPS flow regulators. As for three of them, no idea, that does seem a bit extreme.
On the Mirror Assault build you posted, f00k, why the three EPS Flow Regulators?
2 reasons:
1. Beams chew on power. Flow regulators seem to help recovery. With that build my weapons power rarely went below 100. From my understanding and limited observation it also seems to help with the power spikes from A2B. It also helps with the speed of Aux Recovery.
2. Didn't have any crit consoles to put in there so I just tossed a few of those in there.

You are incorrect.
A random DHC tooltip
Damage per Hit: 352.4
DPS: 234.5
A cannon takes .5 seconds to fire and has a 1 second cooldown, or a total firing cycle of 1.5 seconds. 352.4 * 1.5 = 234.5
Finally when you do fire DHCs a big shiny '1' will appear over the weapon while a big '2' shows up on regular cannons and a big '4' on beams.
352.4
234.5
2/3 firing cycle
(352.4 * 2) / 3 = 234.5
Cannons have 3s cycles and Beams have 5s cycles. Cannons doing 2/3 or 4/3 and Beams doing 4/5 (including the Cutting Beam).
