Don't own one yet, but first impressions from provided blog info for the VA (as I don't really care about anything below that rank) is that is in all ways what I would expect from a good escort. Typical console layout as is the + to wp, however the hull is ok for a store ship and would like to see it closer match a bug ship if/and when they decide to allow for a fleet version. The shield mod is higher than what I would have expected for a non fleet version, but hey great anyways. And the BO layout is just awesome for an escort, 2 good quality tac slots for well a tac ship, 1 typical sci slot like most good quality ships have, and a awesome uni slot for any situation needed kudos for the BO balance!!! Quad anything is as it has always been a ok weapon, but more of a cosmetic item than actual effectiveness. Overall I would easily and will in time purchase one for an alternative to my 2 favorites the Ha'Apax and Scimitar.
I got it as alternative to my adapted destroyer, plus I love quads, atbthe moment its giving me all imneed from an escort, however it needs some negative threat consoles because after a while shredding borg, the big guy comes and swats me.

I...not to be negative or anything since I actually do like this change and it's honestly made it more likely that I'll pick up at least the VA version, but...when is the KDF going to get an Escort Carrier? Feds got one, now the Romulans, so...KDF?
I actually expected it to come as some Armitage copy, so was a little surprised to see it as a middle-of-the-road escort at release. Interesting move, why not make a similar pass on some of the Fed and KDF C-store ships too?
I'd been planning to buy a JH HEC for my rom tac, this could be viable as an alternative. It certalnly looks comparable to the Fed HEC, but more flexibility on the BOFF seating (ofc), and it lacks the fleet upgrade to survivability. I would really want to see a fleet version before making the jump, since the JH HEC is soo much more rugged. Great, now I'm in state-lock, not doing anything until a fleet version is announced.
Not sure if it would make me pick up one to be honest...I'm still not a huge fan of the bridge layout. It's pretty similar to the Armitage now and I own it and don't play it.
I would of rather had them change the boff layout before a hanger....I wish the ensign was universal at least.
I'm betting that we are either not going to see a fleet version until things are ironed out, or they are holding off on a Fleet version so that all factions get some ships added to the Fleet holdings with the Season 8 update end of Oct or beginning Nov.
EDIT: I just have this horrible feeling that is when season 8 goes live because that is the week that all the other major titles come out I wanna dedicate some time to.

Personally if I do buy it which I'm not sure about I think I would go with Scorpions to be honest. They do good damage and they would fit in decent enough with a plasma build on that ship.

Elite Scorpions are pretty much Sir Spamalot of awesomness for STO.
Still without a Fleet Version no buy at all that ship still does nothing the Dehlan or Mogai can't manage aswell ecxept yes now those fancy carrier pets.
There is still the issue with Quads and [Dmg]x4 making them only to some extend useful for less challenging PvE and the fact that the -10 ENG drain is twice as painful on a Warbird because those ships already have a hefty powerlevel nerf.
And ontop of that you get forced if you like to use the 2p Bonus to have them equiped.
So most of the issues that got mentioned in the Feedback are still there and not addressed at all.
P.S. actualy pretty funny 1st all rage about it how subpar it is, and after the result of slapping a Hangar on it to appeace the masses all Looks fluffy again?

As an aside, as far as the quad cannons go and what modifiers work best for them, I think it's clear nobody particularly cares for [dmg] mods either for quad cannons or any weapon. What if you had x4[CrtD] mods? Suddenly that -10 engine drain looks like it's worth it now, right?
(tbh I use quad-phasers on my Defiant for style points. I don't really see the big deal and don't feel disadvantaged in PVE)

Crank your engine power down to a base of 15 and have a non-Hyper non-X->E core equipped to simulate how this feels on a Warbird (at least with the default Attack preset). I was not amused with them, even in PvE. Keep in mind that Hyper Singularity Core takes time to stack up Sing power before you get the full bonus.
As for my feedback after playing on Tribble... Meh. Mostly served to highlight the capabilities of the other Warbirds. Granted, I don't have the Elite Scorpions on it, but I don't think those alone will be enough elevate it above most of the other T5 Warbirds. Only real niche I can think of is more control pet builds like Advanced Runabouts and Elite Yellowstones Fed side and Elite Orion Interceptors KDF side.
