Since Dan's post was so full of "Thank yous", let me first keep my manners by saying:
You're Welcome!
I know, I know... You couldn't've done it without me.
:P
Second, what happened to that podcast some time ago where Dan said they considered LoR Season 8 and that the next update would just be Season 9? I seem to recall other Cryptic people said similar. I'm confused. I mean, c'mon, make up my mind, will ya!? LOL
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the year(s) ahead. I've enjoyed the game so far... It's been my #1 addiction, uh, er, I mean hobby.
And while the more New sounds good, please for the Pete of Sake, Cryptic, spend some MUCH MORE time cleaning up the existing bugs. Thanks.
You can find/contact me in game as @PatricianVetinari. Playing STO since Feb 2010.
You guys (Cryptic) want to make real money? Do a multi-part, and I'm talking 8-10 missions, on the Nexxis and James Kirk. Have it include time-travel, wearing the uniform and flying the ships of the 23rd century, rescuing, and being rescued, by the greatest captain in Starfleet history. Get Shatner and Nimoy on board to do a voice-over, while they are still alive.
Cryptic, if you do this, you would make major news, possibly national news. You would probably get a huge influx of new players, old ones returning and new ones to check out the mission. All of this would mean lots of green-backs going into your bank account and a lot of very happy players.
Just my two cents, but I sure would love to see it.
Okay, yeah. Now I can see the two side-by-side, they are definitely different designs.
The problem I see with that is; if they give the Vulcans another ship, they have to give the Andorians and Caitians another ship as well. And there's only on-screen evidence of one Andorian ship - the Kumari - which is already in-game.
Not neccesarily.
The catian and andorian ships were made very recently as compared to the D'kyr, before cryptic was bought by perfect world.
The Vulcan ships need some love. the d'kyr is a science vessel in STO and it doesn't hold up half as well as the 3 andorian escorts or the catian atrox in endgame events like STF's.
all sounds good. i just hope if enterprise wins they do a xindi faction, of course not in the near future, but one where there not at war with the kdf but have skirmishes with the federation. so there not allied with ether the feds or the kdf, make it interesting for pvp. pulse it would have a lot of interesting story missions, with the sphere builders, future involvement, and ect
They have all species of Xindi as federation duty officers currently, So I don't think that would be a good fit.
Vaadwaur maybe? Krenim imperiam.... Khazan doesn't fit the pattern of the concept art at all. Voth have city ships, that's a planet. I guess we will have to wait.
In the mountains...are those holo projectors? I'm thinking now Hirogen (we never actually saw their home planet before they went wondering around) due to Voyager giving them holo tech, OR I think it could be the Maylon as the green smoke? reminded me of their garbage transports.
For some weird reason, when I read space adventure zone I thought of the Antarian Trans-stellar Rally...hmm....

I vote Enterprise. Would love to see more Andorian stuff, Xindi (especially Aquatics) and of course the Vulcans would tie into the Rommie stuff nicely.
Trek needs more Andorians, Vulcans and other non-human influences imo. I'd love to know what happened to the Imperial Guard and Vulcan High Command after the Federation was founded. My pet theory is they continued existing as specialist elite branches of the Starfleet, along with the MACO's and whatever the Tellarites called their elite unit. Would certainly add more flavour to the otherwise overly human dominated Federation.
Not to mention three of the biggest unanswered questions/mysteries in all of trek. First, the details of the Earth/Coalition vs Romulan war.
Second, why in the name of all that is pure and logical did the new federation place its military in the hands of earth starfleet (complete with english ship names and tactically moronic ship layout), by far the weakest and least advanced power, despite Andorian and Vulcan ships being VASTLY superior in every conceivable way, including coolness.
Finally, how did the Xindi Avians go extinct when they were clearly warp capable? They built that fortress on another planet 4,000 years before the events in "The Council". Perhaps finding surviving avians would make a good part of a Xindi feature episode. Would be nice to introduce a totally "out there" unseen new alien which is also canonical
If I could vote for a second I'd go Voyager, for species (imagine Nacene and/or Voth vs Iconians for epicness) and exploration potential.
When you say "This episode will be playable by all factions and will continue the story for a few of our favorite characters." I dont suppose that means we'll get some more story or character specific dialogue for our Romulan boffs? (Specifically Veril. She's awesome)
Regardless, LoR has been awesome, and I can't wait for the next expansion.

Maybe that's Ocampa, and those buildings allow them to amplify their telekinetic abilities.
But wasn't there planet all desert, Memory Alpha:
explorers from another galaxy inadvertently damaged the atmosphere of the planet Ocampa so badly that all nucleogenic particles were lost, thus rendering the atmosphere incapable of producing rain. The planet rapidly became a desert.

Well I can't wait for the Iconians from the Romulan Republic perspective. We already have the Cowboys and Aliens thing going between the Elachi and the Republic. BRING BACK SELA, I want to see if she is a victim or a perp. My latinum is on victim but I could be wrong.
As for the ships and stuff, please make a ENT pack with the Phase pistol and able to have flip communicators for species without combadges. Not to mention please also expand missions back in time to the Romulan War for the Republic like the Federation does for City on the Edge of Never.
Bring the Xindi as well and have an adventure zone or a event where they have a Species Civil War after the destruction of the probe. Degra fired the first shot against the Reptilians and now I bet they have teamed up with Insectoids and to combat the Sloths and Primates. That arch reminded me of Defiance from ScyFi and Xindi are almost a direct match to the Voth which also have several distinct species.
Just for the hell of it...can you make a planet with intelligent Mugatos kind of like Planet of the Apes? That would be sick to land on it like in show and fight to survive. Idiot Mugatos are bad enough if you play Colony Invasion but thinking ones. OMG
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] "This planet smells, it must be the Klingons"
Go figure! What I vote for is in last place. STO has some amazing looking TOS maps and there are so many aliens from that series we have yet to see in STO. I would really like a mission to return to Talos IV and get to interact with the Talosian's and Chrisopher Pike.

Looking for a new fleet? Drop by the in-game chat channel, "tenforwardforum", and say hi to the members of A Fleet Called Ten Forward (Fed) and The Orion Pirates (KDF). If you already have a fleet you are happy with, please feel free to drop by our chat channel if you are looking for a friendly bunch of helpful people to socialize with.
Quite an amazing game! Ive been playing since launch and it keeps getting better and better. Any new species is great, more story is always fun. Id like to see some of the ships that are still missing make their way into the game, and Id love to see the Ambassador class finally get a Cstore versions. Some sort of Fed and Klingon ships on par with Scimitar, maybe update the Galaxy class a little? Or someway so that you can play whatever your favorite ship is through end content and still be competitive. All in all great so far, See you all out there!
It sounds like lots of big plans. No mention of the Foundry or PVP, but those are issues for more specific groups and less applicable to the general community. Still I hope you'll still find time on the schedule for those.
PvP does more for the quality of the game than PvEers will ever understand. A strong vibrant PvP community is an asset to any MMO.
As for the space adventure zone: The Void. FFA combat.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
Lots of great information and enough teasers to keep the imagination going for a while. I've been thinking about the new threat from the Delta quadrant ever since Dan teased them in his interview with Gates of Sto-vo-kor. I think I have a good idea. It could be Voth, but they seem content to be left alone with their own superiority and arrogance, but I am leaning more toward the Vaadwar from the episode Dragon's Teeth.
I was slightly dissapointed to see no mention of the Foundry in the State of the Game, as that aspect is in a bit of a sorry state. Many o us have a lot of high hopes and still have a lot of enthusiasm for authoring new missions for more than just new shinies and loot.
I am excited about the Gateway advancements. So many fun possibilities.
Thanks again Cryptic, keep it up!

Ships used by the mysterious night beings in a vortex encountered by Voyager. Several of these ships assisted Voyager's effort to close the vortex by attacking and distracting a Malon freighter blocking Voyager's path.
I would love for several new rectangular sector map all in a line with spaces between them going north to representing the passage to the Delta Quadrant.
We can then have whole story lines around the Ocumpa, Kazon etc
Hiding this poll in a state of the game post was a bad idea. It needs it's own post on the home page.
Thanks for the feedback and concern, cidstorm. The goal was definitely not to hide it but ensure it was seen with the context of the article and Daniel's discussion on the future of STO. To ensure it's more visible and encourage more participation, this line has been added to the front page excerpt: Also, don't forget to follow the link to the forum post at the bottom of the article to participate in our latest poll!
