STO community worst community. I will be happy if a lot of you leave. You guys are terrible people.

All because people are upset with ARC your calling this community the worse and are happy if people leave. If you care about the game you should not want people to leave because people leaving hurts the game.

If Arc needs to store my credit information on PWE/Cryptic servers I will then need to leave Star Trek Online, and that statement is not something I really enjoy making because I love STO and leaving it would mean leaving the Fleet that I love and my friends there.

I will not allow Cryptic to store my credit information to make the buying of ZEN seamless and as easy as simply pressing one button. It has been proven in the past with MANY MMO developers that this kind of information is vulnerable and I do not trust PWE/Cryptic or any other developer to have constant access to my personal credit information.

Arc is just an application. All it should store is your login information if you allow it.

I honestly wonder how many will stop playing because of this and how many will just do it, probably most. There were similar rants when the account merger happened.

Sadly I didn't know about this until logging onto Forum over another issue... I will say this tho... been playing for 19 mons now and have helped alot of others to learn and enjoy game along the way... but... I am retired and on a small pension that currently doesn't allow me to get a better computer... since my computer has a hard time with limited resources already, I won't be ABLE to play STO if THEY put another program running in the background... MSN did that earlier this year and I've noticed increased resources problems since then... and there is no BLEEPIN' way I want any MORE spy programs telling PWE what I do...
I actually VALUE my privacy and block ALL ads sent to my E-mail... hope I don't hafta add PWE and Cryptic to that list... dunno... maybe some politician NOT influenced by big business will make such abhorant practices illegal in my lifetime... but I may just hafta file the Internet completely if this is the wave of the future... just sayin'... lol Peace out...!!

There is nothing illegal about that. You are choosing to install their software and as long as they state what it does it is legal. I may not agree with it but you make a choice one way or another.

Have you ever though of why people are like that?

Me personally I am negative because of bad experiences. Usually bad experiences is why people are negative. Tomorrow will be my 1 year anniversary in this game and so many things have gotten worse and worse and worse and this last thing is crossing the line for me and probably a lot of others.

I tend to agree with you but I am more like you, semi retired... The difference is that I have been involved with the Internet since it was very first developed. In fact I can remember when it was so new that almost no one had internet access. My brother, who is involved and sometimes does work for Microsoft now days, got me into computers one day when he came home with a Timex Sinclair computer with a whopping 16K memory expansion attached to it.

That was the very first computer that I played any games on and it was a Star Trek based game that basically had you firing torpedo's and phaser's way back in the early 80's. My brother and I went on to start an electronics business which included computers, and we built, sold, and repaired them. We stayed in business for 20+ years and my brother is still in the business though he now does it out of his house.

I do not like Arc or anything like it, and while I do understand why developers want apps like this it is definitely something that will make me reconsider if I want to continue to play STO or not, and most likely not. :(

So in your opinion nothing has gotten better over the last year? The new zones, the new romulan missions, the new klingon missions, even the new fed mini missions in the romulan zone. None of that has made the game any better to you? It has all just gotten worse and worse?

Yes their have been some good things but more bad then good.

Lets see no longer can get full MK XI Borg Space set from completing 15 normal STF missions.

No longer get Assimilated Module from completing the Assimilation story mission.

Game crashes and or freezes everyday something that almost never happened before LoR expansion.

Klingon faction still has nothing new at end game

A new faction that is so OP compared to older factions with little to nothing being done to help the others perfect example is Klingons.

New game bugs that came with LoR expansion and still not fixed.

Now their is this ARC thing that just is terrible and cross the line.

Well I have played just about every single MMO ever released, the only ones I have never played are the Guild Wars series. The STO community is one of the best I have ever experienced and I am a bit confused that you would say otherwise.

Several other posters have noted the same thing so it does seem to me that your own experience with MMO communities is somewhat limited...

Anyway, peace to you and I hope you have a nice day :)

That was changed when the stfs were changed, well over a year ago.
No longer get Assimilated Module from completing the Assimilation story mission.
I have not run this mission in a long time so I cannot say one way or the other.
Game crashes and or freezes everyday something that almost never happened before LoR expansion.
The game does not crash for me. I cannot even remember the last crash I had. It sounds more like a hardware issue on your side. Perhaps you have a week ram module that only acts up when it is under heavy usage? The game does seem to be memory heavy.
Klingon faction still has nothing new at end game
You mean except for romulan and nukara rep and the various new dailies? Those are the same things fed and rom players do as well.
A new faction that is so OP compared to older factions with little to nothing being done to help the others perfect example is Klingons.
I kill romulans regularly in pvp in my klingon ship.
New game bugs that came with LoR expansion and still not fixed.
Some have been fixed, others not.
Now their is this ARC thing that just is terrible and cross the line.
I guess all I can say is that when arc goes live I hope you enjoy whatother game you switch to.

As a rule, I have found the community to be quite helpful, myself... and sorry if free speech bothers U my friend... I may not agree with actions of others, but I don't call folks names or belittle them JUST because their opinion differers from mine... maybe U may want to move to a country where things are not this way... say Siria...? LOL or Iran...? ;)

    Nice one!:D

And my I add, I have set up (in the past) thank you dev threads after a new season.

No not well over a year ago. Tomorrow is 1 year anniversary of me playing the game and I got that on 1 character then the change happened.

It was changed because they put that item in the Reputation system.

Anything is possible but I know I am not the only person to have such problems after LoR expansion came out.

I mean nothing new that is for them and them only like new tier 5 C-Store ships. Heck not even new C-Store outfits or anything for them and only them.

I have kill Romulan players, Federation players and other Klingon players but it doesn't change the fact Romulans are the most powerful when played by good players.

Yes some fixed some not. Those not should of been fixed already as well as some other bugs I have heard people talk about bugs that have been around longer then I have been playing. Taking that long to fix is unacceptable.

I hope it does not come to that I don't want to stop playing because of ARC but I will if it becomes mandatory.

If you think this community is bad, you guys should go check out the FFXIV:ARR community. Just read the main forums for a while. They are absolutely brutal to each other.

In fact, the in game community is so terrible to each other, that the devs are having to implement a system where you can rate other players. If you get enough positive rating points, you can buy exclusive items from a rep store. They seriously felt that they had to do this in order to keep their community from killing itself because of how horrible it is. Think about that for a minute.

Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.
