Fleet Miranda (Light Cruiser)

    I'd rather not make it into a Defiant 2.0, ijs. With this setup though, despite its squishiness, it can be very versatile.
    The reason I want a T5 Miranda like this is because it doesn't have strong aspects of any type of existing ship. It can load dual cannons like an escort, but can't turn worth anything. Its highest non-universal BOFF slot is Eng and it has more Eng console slots than the others, but unlike a cruiser it has TRIBBLE hull points. It can load 2 deflector arrays(which is apparently going to be a future trait of science ships), yet it doesn't have the innate subsystem targeting of science ships.

    The only thing I'd change now from that original idea is that instead of +10 shield power, I'd give it +10 engine power. After all, those NPC frigates move FAST.

    Where did you hear that? I know there was a topic on the forums discussing it as a boost for Sci vessels which wasn't "MOAR DAKKA". But I never knew it was actually going to be implemented.

    I would say it should at least match the NPC Miranda's at end game. The highest I've seen is around 28,580 HP

    Agreed.

    And it should retain the more appealing features of the Light Cruiser, to set it apart from the typical cruisers we see in-game.

    I'd like to see a similar T5-FED-Destroyer/Battle Cruiser but not as an upgrade of the Miranda-Class Light Cruiser (the ship is just too old to be actually worth refitting) with like

    30-35k hull
    1-1.1 shield mod
    4/3 or 4/4 weps
    11-14 turn rate
    4/3/3 (T/E/S) console Layout
    DCs equipable
    at least a LTC Tac (Maybe a CMDR?)

    But as i said, it makes no sense to make a T5 Miranda, as well as a T5 Connie/NX

    Honestly, the Heavy Escort Carrier is pretty close to a lot of this. You can even kit-bash the Armitage and Zepher parts together to get a fairly Miranda/Nebula-esque look out of it.

    The three tactical bridge seats are a bit of a drag, but ship itself practically a destroyer - with a hanger.

    The Miranda was replaced by the Nebula, the Nebula is classified as a Sci Vessel in STO and it has a Fleet variant.

    No T5 Miranda or Connie or NX, though I would love to have all three,... just saying. Sometimes, you just want to play an "iconic" ship.

    If you want an idea of what a "Light Cruiser" can be like, take a look at the KDF's Fleet K'T'Inga. It is a Cruiser, no doubt. Shares the BOFF stations and consoles of a Cruiser. Handles better, but has a weaker hull, esp. for a Cruiser.

    What I can't figure out is why in the world CBS cares about having a tier 5 Miranda especially when some of the ships in the game are so hideiously designed that they would never be seen on screen and IMHO do more damage to the franchise then letting someone fly around at tier 5 in the ship they want.

    300k hull on the Gal-X would finally make it useful for something :P

    We still beating this topic to death? The reason theres no fleet variant of the Miranda is because it was never ment to be a ship someone plays through the whole game and into the end game stuff, it was ment as a newbie (learn how to fly a ship) sorta thing for levels 1 to 10. They figured by then you'd wanna dump that tub for something better. Yes I know, a small minority for whatever reason likes that thing but look at it this way, even if they made a fleet version, just like any fleet variant the stats differences between the regular and fleet Mirandas wouldn't be that much, sure you'd have 4 fore, and 4 aft weapon slots but that wouldn't mean squat if someone with a fleet heavy escort or carrier or something comes along to blast your ship into space garbage with 1 torpedo due to the fact that all a fleet version would be is polishing a TRIBBLE

    Big deal, the KDF has a fleet version of a T1, things still a garbage scow, my Odyssey could blow that tub away. Just because something has a fleet variant doesn't mean it makes that ship the most powerful on the game and other than just being something to fly around in just to say "hey people look at me" theres absolutely no functional use for it, you'd be useless in pvp, getting blown away by everyone, fleet pve missions? pfft, forget about it, you'd just be in the way, taking up team space that could be used by someone in a real ship.

    So give Cryptic enough money and to the right people like CBS and Disney and we can have Star Destroyers in the game. Problem is that most people don't have enough money to do something like this. Same thing with the Fleet Miranda except that it would be slightly cheaper, but still out of the range of most people. Money only gets you so far and if CBS says no to a Fleet Miranda, then that means more money is needed to convince them. Everyone has a price, but sometimes that price is so far out of this world that no one can buy them.

    How about a petition on the forums or some place to show how many players on the Federation side want a T5 Fleet Miranda or Fleet T2 Cruiser. We have Fleet T3 Heavy Cruisers and all that already. Why not give us that bone? I loved my Miranda/Shi'kar and would love to be in one again. Same with a Fleet T2 Cruiser, I loved flying the Excalibur-class skin around.

    I think OP's request was more in line with a heavy escort stats wise, it might be a good set up for the fleet NX variant.

    The fleet frigate needs to come in four forms, one for each of its C-store variations. The Miranda would be a jack of all trades with a great speed boost. After all we know for certain they could keep up with a Defiant class ship.

    Show me where I said anything about CBS saying NO to a Fleet Miranda. I said if CBS said NO to a Fleet Miranda, then it is possible to change their mind with an incentive. If I had enough money, I could make almost anyone do any idiotic thing like a Pope converting to Islam. Of course, such a thing would cost billions of dollars or even more.

    Podcasts are not binding in any way especially one that involves the Foundry for adding player ships. Captain Geko could have just meant adding new npc ships to the Foundry. So just because some dev mentioned something about a Miranda in a Podcast doesn't necessarily mean that Fleet Miranda will be available.

    The problem is those people who want a T5 fleet Miranda don't want a normal ship, they want some super ship with more weapons than a fleet, a insane number of hull points, and shields no weapon can touch. they want an invincible, super ship. Every topic I see in the forums about a fleet Miranda wants 30k, 40k, 100k, hull points, just crazy numbers. Personally I could care less if they added one but realistically you can't expect super ship, all your going to get is a ever so slightly beefed up version of the in game ship. It would be a tier 5 ship that's available from a tier 1 fleet shipyard with stats lower than every other fleet ship. Yes KDF has the B'rel but look at the stats

    See, theres only a slight difference between the two, the hull only went up by 14,750, few other changes but nothing all that significant. Can you expect more from a T5 Miranda?
