true, i would support the Merian class as well as the Galen class.
Merian as a destroyer, that cant use cannons, or a light cruiser.
    Galen a small science ship.

But they would have to go though the same thing they did to get the vista. though i think mark would ok it himself if they asked.

Starfleet is not known for back tracking in ship development, but it does not always go for bigger, this can be seen by the defiant class. so instead of making an obsolete ship better just make one that works the same but newer and better.

You know what I support the Merian Class and a variant or two as a Frigate class ship for the Federation. A light Jack of all trades ship similar to the Raiders.
I was once DKnight1000, apparently I had taken my own name so now I'm DKnight0001.
If I ask you a question it is not an insult but a genuine attempt to understand why.
When I insult you I won't be discreet about it, I will be precise and to the point stupid.

Kinda makes me think of the Starfleet version of the Dhelan when it comes to looks.
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power

The Saber class basically replaced the Miranda class.

Not in STO, where one is an escort and the other is a cruiser.

The only thing you have proven is that Miranda class ships can be destroyed like every other ship class.

    Galaxy class

    Excelsior class:

    Akira class:

    Vor'cha class:

    D'deridex class:

its worth noting that the galaxy survived that hit if you watch the rest of the epsode its never shown to be destroyed

Captain Charlie Reynolds, commanding officer of the USS Centaur, a Miranda VARIANT since this game launched, was a key player in the Dominion War, and was able to go toe to toe with a JHAS, the best statted ship in all of STO.

So no, it's not a stretch at all. Deep Space Nine had the Centaur stand tall and kick butt. Against a ship that this game has seen fit to make one of the most powerful in the galaxy.

So a T5 Fleet Variant of the Miranda with a special Centaur Skin paying homage to Captain Reynolds in much the same way this game decided to beef up and pay homage to the Lakota, would not be a stretch. At all.

    /end debate

its worth noting that the bug he fought was maned by sisko who was trying to disable him so he didn't follow him into hostile space

It's worth noting that the ship stood up to the JHAS, Sisko noted the captain's skill in that episode, and also the Centaur displayed firepower.

It's then further worth noting that the Centaur returned in Sacrifice of Angels and did great in that big battle.

The ship functions fine at T5 if you use DS9 as a measuring stick. Since the Lakota is T5 BECAUSE the devs used the Dominion War as measuring stick, I think it's worth conceding my point. The Centaur is fully capable of being just as powerful as any other T5 ship because there is on-screen evidence of it doing well in the Dominion War.

point was that its not a fair comparison since one was not fighting to kill but to disable and a bug ship(in the show) was not a especially powerful ship on its own the defiant killed a ton of them they needed numbers to be a serious threat which they usually had due to the ease that they could be built and crewd.

also the devs cant be using ds9 as a mesuring stick because it that same battle it showed a galaxy wing blowing holes in galor ships and the in game galaxy is nowhere near that powerful

not saying that it was a bad ship but when does it appere in that epsiode theirs so many ships flying around all i cant see it(not that your wrong its hard to tell it apart from a maranda at a distance)
