So, no news about all this lag? It's 2 days that the game is completely unplayable. It's not just me 'cause i heard a lot of ppl complaining about in chat, pve and pvp, both... :(

Please, do something, we can't play with all this lag, and tuesday we'll have LoR... how can we suppose to try new season with all these problems?

    Seriously :(

Exactly, how can we enjoy the product they produce if they run the games laggy and unplayable?

    Hi Captains,

Our Engineers continue to investigate, and we very much appreciate the information given thus far! Most of all the nettests and tracert results posted in here show optimal performance, but some of you seem to be experiencing something.

If you are continuing to experience latency problems and would like to provide more information that can aid us in tracking this down, please reply to this thread with the following items as you experience the lag in-game:

    • Type the following commands in the chat bar:
      • /netgraph 1
      • /nettiminggraph 1
        • Pass along a screenshot of the above using the following command in the chat bar: /screenshot_ui_jpg
    • The name of specific character that experienced the latency during the time the screenshot above was taken (no need to post an @handle, just character name)
    • The ship class that the named character was flying during the time the screenshot above was taken (or mention if this was on ground and not space, or both)
    • The time the screenshot above was taken (please be as accurate as possible)
    • The Map name and objective step you were on when the latency occurred and when the screenshot was taken

You can then type /netgraph 0 and /nettiminggraph 0 to turn off the above graphs.

If you'd like to help but you don't feel comfortable making a reply to this thread, please send me a forum PM.

A few posts indicate that this is happening to "all characters on all maps", but the above data is very important.

    Cheers (and thanks!),

    Character: Onalia
    Ship Class: Fleet Patrol Escort
    Time: 6:06pm CST

This was taken while in Sector Space, Eta Eridani. But I have noticed that almost every ship around me has been stuttering in movement. I'll try to take another when I'm on a system map.

    EDIT:

    Character: Onalia
    Ship Class: Fleet Patrol Escort

Taken after completing Skirmish. The mission was lag-free, but after completing it and returning to sector space, it became very noticeable with stuttering and UI lag.

And after getting the screen shot I got DC. :S

#1 and #2 were taken during the same lag spike; #3 was taken slightly later.

What's notable is that I don't seem to be getting the absolutely huge lag spikes unless people are actually shooting. I've been getting pretty consistent latency problems the past few days. I'm on the west coast of the USA, so I don't think I should have been getting such bad connection problems...

After one of the last patches were applied, I started to suffer from lag as well. Both of my avatars are having an issue. My details: Engineering, Tactical, and Armitage.

    Details:

    (1) When I transition between maps, the game will apply a series of patches. During the patching phase of the transition, the game will spin a red timer beyond three minutes.

    (2) STF and PvPs are also experiencing lag. Since I am able to move around freely, while others seem to hesitate and/or burst in speed, I am not sure if I am or everyone else is experiencing the lag. I will see multiple avatars act weird.

As previous people posted the lag issue happens in fire fight and lessons when we were walking down the hall ways in between kills.

We lost the optional as EVERYBODY was experiencing the lag. We were all on the West coast.

I have been here since Beta... I never have had many lag issues in this game. But within the last 2 days the lag in Combat has been insane... I never have had lag issues... I was going to make a GM ticket about it, but the lag was so bad, the system said "Cannot connect" to send in the ticket....

In that time, I checked my connection, and restarted... but same lag. I have logged into other games and MMO's, and No lag at ALL.... So it is not my ISP. Is neverwinter hogging all the server farms bandwidth? What is up cryptic..??? Several days before a major game update, and the game is lagged to a standstill in combat?

As I said before, I wanted to report this in a GM ticket, but I could not.... the system "could not connect"...

I hope that on the 21st, the game does not choke.

I am also in the SouthWest, and I hope this gets resolved before LoR launch, or the servers may just melt from all the latency.

Hmm interesting.. At around 2:30/3am CST there was pretty much no lag at all. Where about 5 hours before I could barely play the game. Maby server load then?

Same toon again just outside Drozana Station. Also tested in a few fleet missions and still no bad lag.

I was in two or three PvE instances yesterday, doing Tau Dewa missions and it was very odd. NPC ships moving as if their warp drive was stalling and then they popped the clutch and lurched forward!

Damned hard to target something like that lol :P

Speedtest.net and pings to known services proved it wasn't a local issue.

How are you guys getting the bandwidth displays at the top of the screen? If it happens again tonight I'd like to record it.

This is most likely a graphics setting, not network latency, seeing as that you are in combat with lots of FX going on around you -- please check your settings to ensure your card can handle the current values you have them set to :)

Please fix this, the game has become nearly unplayable (constant "Server not responding" and many DCs).
It is NOT an issue with my local internet provider as can can play other MMOs without any problems.

Wait until tomorrow. Oh there will be lag :)

To be fair it's due to the servers being used for the different games. PW know about it but want you to think it's a new issue.

Man, tomorrow is going to be so hilarious...

For the most part, I haven't had much issues this morning. Still getting the occasional stuttering, but no more rubber banding or server timeouts. I've also tweaked my graphics settings to see if that was a possible cause, but the result is the same regardless.
