1 disruptor turret took my defense from 24.1 to 2.9 with its proc... its proc says -12.5..... thats with a test I just ran... others in my fleet have had as much as a -40with the proc... So there is something deffinently wrong with the proc on disruptors... I had 1 person shoot me with 1 turret till it proc'd so nobody can claim that it was a stack which I'm not even sure a disruptor proc can stack ... but some ppl in OPVP yesterday said that it did and thats why the high number of -40

To be honest, Ive seen some weird stuff with disruptors.
Met a guy today who had some ridiculous resist strip with his.
Using XI Acc x2 I think (Might have been acc3 though) and he was even with a tac team, shield buff with elite fleet shields was tearing through them like Id installed Captain level shields, just totally ignored everything.
He was using an Andorian ship so theres the possibility of a 5th console with the 5th weapon slot, but he had too many shield buffs to be the tac version. Even off the Alpha my shields were just wilting.
yeah I know what you mean ... I am not used to being vaporized myself so when it happens I question why... Which is what led to the testing... I had a bug never got thru my shields but vaporized my hull and he was running disruptor dual heavy's and disruptor turrets no mines or torpedoes but his alpha in combo with DEM would just obliterate my hull even with all my buffs running which led me to question why ...

Not sure tbh, the guy with the hellish proc on me was using XI purple disruptors.
It was as if all my resistances had been switched off along with tac team and shield buffs.
There was no sci nearby either, we were very much away from the pack.

i discovered this a wile back. disruptors deal a -12 to armor proc for all damage types, and apply 12 more on top for disruptor damage. esesntual it double procs for its own damage type. not sure if its intentional or a bug, but it makes disruptors go for from a meh energy type to one powerful enough that you would want it on any build that can punch through shields and hit hull. -40? i dont think so. not unless tac buffs buff the proc or something.

I ask because the use of Disruptors with DEM is an old standby and I hate to see it ruoned by over reaction or poor "fixing" due to such.

No havent did any testing at all in combo with DEM... I only tested the proc on disruptors period ... but 2 ppl I know had a disruptor proc while testin that took resist from 32 to a - 8 which I didnt even know you could have a neg resist... I'm just saying that the bug that was vaporizing me thats the combo he was using... I dont think there is anything wrong with DEM in itself its just really lethal when your ship has a -8 in resist....

The times its happened to me its literally 1 second, shields totally ignored and dead. Through buffs and a tac team, shields dont even waver, its just complete ignore, Ive only seen it happen with disruptors, or the other one which is the go in buffed, tac team up and next thing your shields are barely there at all after one quick burst from an enemy disruptor.
Hull resists are not... if you add an armour console that says its +30 for instance... you won't ever get +30 even if you where at zero before. At some point that +30 will be like +5 at most as the resist number goes up.
Same thing happens with resistance debuffs like beta delta disruptor procs ect... they are dropping -12... but seeing as that last +30 console was only giving +5... dropping it down to a 17.5 instead of 30... is only going to net you 2-5 points of resist at most off there score.
Its the nature of resistance in this game... honestly resistance debuffs like disruptors work best when comboed with other debuffs.

The real power of disruptors is when you combo it with other resitance debuffs.
Beta for instance is still a fantastic alpha strike skill... the combo of say a -29.8 from a beta 1 + a disruptor proc -12.5... can be a quick -42.3 or so during that short 2-3s burst. (as long as you land a proc early anyway). That is like removing a neut and a half from someones resistance and it can make a big difference... of course the odd person is going to be packing 2-3 neut armors, in which case all the debuff in the world isn't going to eat into there score much.
I haven't PvPed in a couple of weeks. I tried out one match today, and yes, something with disruptors is wrong, I almost tripled the damage of everyone else in that match, and I was fighting with and against some excellent players.
Unfortunately, that is what I've spent my EC on, so I guess I'll just stay out of queues for a while until they are fixed...

Well then it should have been a 2.9% across the board for all energy types but it wasnt ... Only Disruptors the other energy types was still at 14. something and its not that I am scared of it.... I'm just pointing out its not doing what its suppose to which means it broke....

I think if you did double the dmg... its just that you where in an escort and no one else was... I don't think you weapons are broke.

He was in his Klink Vet ship so was 1 other guy and 2 of us myself included was in Bug ships that was our side ... Other side was was an Andorion ... 2 escorts and a Cruiser.... he ended up with 1,100,000 in damage me and other bug had about 450k each and the other vet ship was 209k ...other side I dont remember who had what but the highest person was 300+k

Could your opponent have been running the Polarized Disruptors, DEM, APB and REP passive Graviton amplifier? Not sure of all the back-end game mechanics but could they theoretically all proc at once? So you would get 100% shield bypass from REP passive (kinetic straight to hull), DEM partial shield bypass, -12.5 dmg resist from the disruptors, -25 power levels from the polaron proc, and -29 dmg resist from APB?

- The proc does about 750 kinetic damage to your hull directly, circumventing ANY form of hull resistance. Never the less a very weak proc.
- In game combatlog shows the value being applied to your enemy.
- Out of game logparser doesnt seem to show it however, the entries it shows, but the damage shows 0. (But that might be a problem with the plugin, i ahvent actually checked the raw file.
2.5% on Energy weaps, 5% on torps. Pretty useless never the less. Even if it does proc, the effect is pretty much negated by your innate passive hull repair. lol.

I'll have to check that. I think there was a similar problem with the [Borg] proc that I had to fix because these entries did not use the normal "net (raw)" scheme and showed 0 in one place instead, it's likely that this is the same problem.
If you have a log that contains this proc, maybe you could send me a copy? (None of my toons have chosen this passive.)

Im curiuos if they are as well. Flying a Torkaht with twin DHCs and four turrets w/Tac and DEM, Ive seen no increase in damage or hull sucking hits through shields.
Then again I have hardly any rep on my toon or elite Disruptors. Though I am using the hybrid pol/dis weapons.
Also, he died to this proc about 7 hours ago. He was off chasing somebody down in his steamy and I tried to get to him to pretend I was helping, but he popped them too fast. Then he suddenly gets vaped and I see a "oh wtf" from the warp core explosion. Good times. :P

But I could have sworn that a change got made so that Disruptor procs increased their debuff based on a skill.. (do NOT remember which one) same as Polarons and Tetryons?
Edit: Just logged in and checked before the game was going to go down. I don't see any skill change buffs, but I did notice when I poped my Tac buffs, it did buff the Debuff. On my Mk XI Purple DHC I saw it go from 11.2 to a 20 from APA + Tac Fleet.

Stick with the synergy of your ship and build. If you're offensive then it'll help a little. If you need to tank more then the shield will help a little.
Which is my plan. Was just looking for some input to add the the thought process.
