cryptic for me there is no intrest in paying 125 dollars for the romulan big lagacy package because there is no tos romulan ward bird of prey that captain james tiberious kirk and the uss enterprise constitution class fought against in balance of terror in the deal. also i do not have 125 dollars to spend in any one month for one single special package. most month i will spend $25.

the starter tos romulan wardird of prey is already my faviourate tos and pre tng romulan warbird. as far as the d'drirex retrofit off the c store that will only be about $25 for one ship or $50 for a 3 pack ship tact, science, engineneering focus ships off the c store

ps if it were possible to buy the special packages using game point cards and perfect world point cards to buy c points to buy off the cstore then maybe i would consider buying special packages.

Personally I am not going to buy it because:
    1. I like the KDF, but that might change of course.
    2. It is currently beyond my monthly budget I allow myself for spending on "games".

Nonetheless if you look at the items seperately I do understand why it is so expensive.
    1. 9 ships - Worth: 2000 Zen/ship - 18.000 zen.
    2. 30 master keys - Worth: 1125 Zen/10-key set - 3375 zen
    3. Borg liberated reman BOFF - Worth 500 zen - 500
    That would total @ 21.875 zen at a rate 118 zen/? (117,7 zen/? when I buy for ?89,99 for 10600 zen) - approx. ?185,-

That was only counting the ships, master keys and the reman BOFF... The unlocking of the Remans as playable race as well as various costume additions in the C-store are NOT used in the calculation.
I know shuttles are probably less then 2000, that is why I arrive at a higher worth price then the 181 euros Cryptic claims.

I could have squeezed that into my budget.

    <shrug>

^I might of gone for that...

As it stands, since it doesn't look like our Romulans will get any Romulan ships w/o paying for them. I find little reason even rolling up a Romulan character.

Roms will get all the free T1 through T5 ships. The C-Store ships are just slightly better versions of those ships - just as they are for Feds and KDF.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

I said Liberated Borg, not Liberated Borg Bridge Officer. I didn't see any information in regards to it yet (to my knowledge) and I'm just raising the question now as a LTS / Gold player we do get Liberated Borg characters to play as for free. Maybe I should have worded my question a little clearer, sorry lol.

I also do hope that we get one of the nice 2000 ZEN ships at Tier 5 though like we do with KDF / FED!

This is just a C-store offering at a discount so you aren't going to get any info on your Lib Borg Rom playable species. Supposedly it is happening, but I have heard nothing official.
    gypsyblade wrote: »
That's assuming we'd even buy all that in the first place

Ideally yes, The idea is you would have bought all this anyways, now you get it at a discount for buying it all at once. One of the reasons I haven't bought anything yet. Really only the tier 5 D, The T'varo (tier 1, which I may or may not have bought anyways) and the Survivor of Romulus really interest me, Not sure all that is worth 40-45 bucks (since the Starter doesn't have The D'deridex, I will have to buy that seperately later) for the starter, but I am thinking I am a no on the legacy pack. Don't need all those extra ships.

    Dear Sir/Madam.

I have been a lifetime member for STO-Online and paid a good amount of money for but what i don't understand is why Lifetime memeber's have to pay more for the Romulan Pack should not be free for Lifetime members who paid good money for the game ?

as poor thecosmic1 has said, probably till he is blue in the face. None, None of this stuff is a lifer/former lifer perk. It is standard C-store fanfare and a discount for buying it now. There is no reason to think just cause you paid 200-300 dollars you should get any of it for free. And I say this as somone who paid the 300 dollars as well.

aye.. so basically the pack is full of refits with consoles... okay... something to consider

However when you think about it... romulans who go KDF will have access to all the best consoles in the game.... I'm not sure what their ships will have.. but more options are always good

What price would you deem to be fair?

The price of a game is usually 60 bucks.

The price of expansions in the past have ranged from 25 to 60 bucks.

    Those would be fair prices.

125 bucks is way over the top for a pack related to an expansion.

I like the keys and titles. Granted not for 124 dollars. but it is a nice sweetheart deal for those interested in the other stuff.

And that is how I see them. If you want all the stuff the Legacy pack (or starter) has to offer, you also get some titles and 30 master keys. You don't. No biggy, you can walk away and not worry about it.

Not worth it. $125, not payable in existing Zen (12.5K Z value), for 4 ships (10K Z), a race (worthless, since this option is allegedly given free in-game already), and some assorted gewgaws worth no more than 500Z. 10.5K < 12.5K, therefore, ripoff.

On top of that, you don't even know if you want any of that, since they give you absolutely no numbers. This pushes it even further down on the "ripoff" continuum to damn near "scam" level.

    Fighter: $5.00
    T1: $5.00
    T2: $7.50
    T3: $10.00
    T4: $15.00
    4 T5: $80.00

    30 Keys: $33.75

That's $156.25 before adding in the cost of the Playable Captain, Account-Wide Boff, Doff Pack, Uniform, titles, etc.

As far as stats, those will come later in blogs. You can expect them to be similar to current C-Store ships. For example, the T1 ship will be just like a Rom T1 ship, but it will come with a special console and an additional Boff slot - just as current T1 Fed ships get.
Well I have to say I purchased the Pack as soon as I seen it.

I Used to be a hard core STO player, now im just semi Casual, I did buy a lifetime Sub, Thankfully now 3 years later it has paid for itself then some.

I wasnt too sure about the 130 dollar Romulan pack, Damn thats a lot of money, But I do Love trek and I Really have high expectations for this romulan expansion, And the way I see it. Yeah you can do this stuff for Free, But if you don't invest into it (buying the packs) then your not going to get much out of it if the company doesn't make money.

So I bought the pack. Yay Extra Ships, and hopefully Cryptic keeps us entertained with good missions....

(Prays that this romulan expansion is as good as i hope)

I don't need the pack. So no worries from me. I was just responding to the question of what I thought a fair price would be.

125 bucks is over double the cost of the game itself when it launched. The pack doesn't offer enough stuff to make that a fair price.

60 bucks would be a much fairer price just going off of what games cost these days. I'm not exactly talking crazy here am I? 60 bucks for all that stuff would be a fair price when you consider you very next game purchase is likely to cost ... 60 bucks.

But you're not paying for the game , you're paying for items from the C store in a bundle has nothing to do with buying a game....it's like when you buy a 60 dollar game, and then buy more DLC....but in this case the game is free but the DLC is not.

One thing I would like to see is different packs. As in different combinations of ships and the amount of ships at different prices. Its a big jump form $20 to $125. I might consider another option if it was offered in between the 2 if it was available. Otherwise I might just go with the starter pack after a bit more thinking.

The one "bummer" in this pack is the playable Reman species. Most people have or are near tier 5 in Romulan rep, and I just don't see all that many people new to STO buying this pack (and certainly not for the Reman species).

You can buy the base C-Store items all at once for $125.00 or you can buy them individually for $181.00 later. The pre-order Pack is just giving you a chance to get them for a discount. You can still play Roms and use the free items - just like Fed or KDF.

How dose this work with life time subscribers in game already? what if anything from that do we get from having the LTS?

We have a Dev Blog planned that will reveal our LTS/ Veteran/ Gold rewards -- we're still going over the details internally, but we'll have it out as soon as everything is finalized. I will make sure that we get it posted in plenty of time before the "limited time" price goes away.

Also, I will say that at launch, Romulans will not have a 1000-day Veteran ship available; however, we are planning to address this as soon as possible.
    hypl wrote: »
So this is like a special C-Store bundle promotion, right? Everything here can be earned in-game or bought from the C-Store at launch?

Exactly! It allows players to pre-order Romulan Ships (and other extras) at a bundled, discounted rate. All of the items (except titles) are currently planned to be available in the C-Store at launch, so you can take advantage of the Dilithium Exchange to obtain them.

Also, the current pricing will only be available for a limited time, so expect it to go up. I don't have a date yet for the price increase.

Not the pack itself, no. Please see the answer above.
Brandon, can you confirm if the consoles are ship specific or can be used on later tiers?

Here is the answer from the FAQ: "Consoles that are from Tier 1-4 Romulan ships can ONLY be transferred to other Romulan ships, and consoles that are from T5 Romulan ships can only be used on the specific ship they came on*."

*If there is a T5 Fleet Version of the ship, it should be able to be transfered to it.

You can buy all the C-Store Rom items in a pre-order bundle for $125.00. You can buy them all individuall in the C-Store later for $181.00. The Pack is just a way of getting the items at a discount if you buy them all at once.

You can still play Roms and use the free ship/uniforms you get as you level. That has nothing to do with buying additional C-Store items.

You do realize you don't have to purchase the pack and there are free ships for each level?

This is just a bundle of z-store ships and other stuff. You can easily spend more then that just buying a some of the Fed or KDF z-store ships.
