    Hang on, people.

Cryptic announced that they were going to nerf a weapon that many of us had bought and bring out a better one. Many of us were not happy. After a lot of complaining on our side Cryptic took good faith measures to offer a refund. A full refund, mind you. This was something that was asked for earlier in the thread and supported by quite a lot of people.

    And people are still complaining?

I'm sorry but fairness must be shown on both sides. We can't expect Cryptic to be fair when we are not. If the community feels strong enough about something and Cryptic obliges a request that we, the player base, make then we should at least thank them for listening to us.

This is the sort of behavior that will make Cryptic less likely to listen to us in the future if we have a legitimate concern.

Fairness, people. We can NOT ask Cryptic for it if we're not prepared to give it ourselves.

Honestly Cryptic gives a full refund, and they will put in fleet variants later... sounds like a fair deal to me.
Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.

While some of the posters have noted that Spiral Wave Disruptors are a similar case, those weapons are significantly more expensive and only a specific weapon type (Beam Array) is available.

Yes... why is that anyway? I use a Dual Beam Bank and Turrets on my Galor because it LOOKS way more canon that way.
(the Dual Beam Bank ONLY shoots from the red glowy in the front, not from random Hardpoints all over the place like normal Beam Arrays).

I hope when the Cardy lockbox makes the round again that these will be upgraded to all Weapon Types.

Whilst Cryptic has commendably come up with a compromise, you're forgetting that they screwed up and they planned to rectify that without first having a solution for their existing customers in place.

i.e. they took your Dil then changed the deal with no intention of refunding you.

That they reacted to player outrage is good - it shows they're listening.

That they felt they could do this in the first place without repercussions is bad - it shows a lack of respect for their customers.

The players don't have to be 'fair' about anything - if you buy something - in real life or in a video game - you have every right to get what you paid for.

In all honesty Dar, did you really expect EVERYONE to just fold their tents, thank Cryptic for doing the right thing and move on to the next adventure? I didn't.

Please try to show a bit of solidarity with those who still feel screwed by this situation. That way you won't be like those who were telling us to just "shut up and live with it, like me."

Personally I thought Cryptic wouldn't budge at all. Not an inch. I was hopeful for a partial refund but wasn't holding my breath. A full refund? Even though I wish the weapons would be left alone it was more than I hoped for.

One thing I've learned is that quite often in life a compromise must be reached. Anything short of complete and utter victory can not be seen as complete failure. There are degrees of success and we got further than I thought we would.

You obviously have a charitable and forgiving nature and that's commendable - but it's also exploitable and Cryptic are big on exploiting their customers (yet hypocritically quick to clamp down when they feel their game is being exploited).

There seems to be plenty of people on this forum that just shrug and say 'well that's business - Cryptic has to earn a living' - business it may be, but bad business in my opinion.

Somewhere along the line, Cryptic seems to have forgotten that it's our Zen and C-Store purchases that pay their salaries - they're always trying to find new ways to get more from us but each time something new is released there's more issues, more broken stuff - more old stuff left to rot and it's time they were called to task on all of this.
Thank you for listening and building in this refund, it is appreciated more than you know and I doubt many developers would go to this extent to satisfy their customers. I am now happy.

A refund shouldn't make you happy - it's your right for something you paid for that was mis-sold.

These weapons are intended to be MK XI, the same as the other highest-end weapons in the Dilithium store.
We'll be fixing the error that is giving these incorrect stats sometime soon. Sorry for the inconvenience to those of you who has already purchased these.

Edit: Removed off-topic information. This will be discussed elsewhere.

Are you going to offer refunds to those of use already in full andorain who would never have purchased them at all if they was not equal or better than most mkxii? or am i just out the 140,0000 dilithium that could have gone to a starbase or zen? Now im going to be stuck with some underpowered weapons thatI will again have to replace. thanks a lot for pushing me one step closer to givng up on this game.

Yes - you'll be able to get all your Dil back from the Ferengi vendor.

So your choice now is: Advanced Mk XII Andorian (blue) [Dmg]x3 [Acc] Fleet weapons.

Or regular Phasers/whatever from the Exchange.

Mk XII Andorian [Acc]x2 [Dmg] have ceased-to-be in game.

Seeing as the Ferengi at ESD seems oblivious to this I'm assuming that the refunds arent starting till next weeks patch?

Any chance of a time scale Cryptic?

The MK XI Accx2 Dmg will still exist in the dilithium store, they simply won't have incorrect stats.

I would imagine, if they are going to be Advanced Fleet Andorian Phasers it'll be Tier 2 engineering, which is pretty low on the scale. Also shows the capability level that they will have though...

This is of course assuming that they do it like all the other Advanced Fleet Weapons.

According to the dev post on tribble... the fleet version stats will match that of the advanced phaser weapons for those wondering. The andorian weapons will just be a cosmetic difference. Link to dev post: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/sh...&postcount=203

I'm more inclined to choose original [Acc]x2 [Dmg] stats over the [Acc] [Dmg]x3 advanced fleet versions, especially in PVP...

I don't play PVE, but I bought the Andorian weapons because they looked as good as fleet weapons if not better. I wasn't disappointed.

cryptic if you are going to make fleet versions at least keep them [acc]x2 [dmg]x2
other wise whats the point of spending dilithium on phasers with the same stats ( [acc] [dmg]x3 ) that are undesireable for PVP. right now the weapons are good for both PVP and PVE ( [acc]x2 [dmg] ), lets keep them that way.

Except for this whole "THey're giving you your currency back in exchange for the items."

THey're making good. You are acting like a Prat and a police officer won't just up and arrest a business rep (Salesmean, manager, owner) without giving them the chance to make good.

Cryptic is making good. Stop acting like an entitled prat.

I'd say those who fail to understand people's rage over this Bait and Switch would be better qualified for the prat category.

The only "good" they are making are for people who are in Fleets high enough to get the Fleet version of these weapons. I hope they drag their feet in providing these so I can wander through and call people complaining about it prats. (I won't, I'm better than that)

If someone is trying to sell you inferior products [dmg]x3 and accidentally sells you a good product [acc]x2 [dmg] and then tries to get it back, a policemen will not only arrest them, but make sure their shill is shut down.

I don't want STO's shill to be shut down as this is what they would do rather than practice Fair Business, so a compromise would be simply to convert the purchased weapons to whatever they will become in the Fleet Store.

That way everyone will be Happy, (eccepting the prats of course)

Actually, you can buy these weapons as a guest in any T2 Military unlocked Starbase as a guest. You use your own fleet marks and provisions to make such purchases, so the hosting fleet has nothing to lose.

I'll send you an invite if you like once these fleet Andorian weapons become available... just send me a /tell when you're online.

ArchonCryptic did state that dilithium store items were never intended to carry end-game gear, so when Mk XI Andorian phasers with Mk XII stats showed up, I knew almost immediately that they would get hit with the nerf bat. I lobbied for a refund for all those affected, even though I didn't purchase any Andorian phasers until after the refund-announcement was posted.

Since a refund is indeed being issued for early adopters, no one really loses their dilithium... if anything, they got to test-drive Mk XII Andorian phasers for free with a 100% deposit return ;)

Can anyone take you up on that offer? I've got a lot of fleet credits, but no access to the fleet weapons.

ArchonCryptic did state that dilithium store items were never intended to carry end-game gear

Some people have raised an interesting point that the dilithium store does already have the spiral wave disruptors which are end-game weapons.

Anyways, I'm not sure I'm ready to rage over this. The Dilithium refund is a solid that I did not expect at all.

    As you state:
Since a refund is indeed being issued for early adopters, no one really loses their dilithium...

Though this bit is still murky:
if anything, they got to test-drive Mk XII Andorian phasers for free with a 100% deposit return ;)

Since last I heard the Mk XII fleet ones are not going to have the same types of modifiers?

    I don't know.

Anyways, I'm basically at the point where I appreciate the refund, but I'll still be equipping the Mk XI's until I can get access to Mk XII's which I currently do not have access to.

Is it military? I thought it was Tier two ENgineering that had the weapons. If indeed it is Military hell, My fleet can invite folks.

I'll probably keep my Dilthium Store Andie Phasers and put 'em on my Connie and PvE/PvP in style. I urge everyone who bought the Andorian Phasers to do the same, rather than bend over and just take your refund.

Lobi Store requiring that you have MK XI fleet versions no doubt, so you can upgrade them of course.

    Oh well.

I'm looking forward to getting my 135k back.
