Since the game has PvP bootcamp and numerous threads on all aspects of PvP gameplay the continuing "KDF is OP" whine is truelly a poor attempt at sabotage.
He needs to educate himself instead crying from a place of ignorance.

This made me smile, you sir are very amusing. "I expect more intelligence from the playerbase" Hahahaha, thanks for the laugh.:D

One's expectations should be set high or one will quickly become bored with how often one's expectations are met.

Well, I encountered something unusual in Kerrat today: a sourpuss Klingon! He accused me of exploits after I nuked him and his friends a few times using my now-legendary torpedo death ship. Here's to you, KB5000!

(Just because you've been using DHCs for so long, you've convinced yourself no other weapon can work... doesn't mean it's actually true ;)

Oh hey, it's the guy who hates PVP in all forms, and thinks it should be deleted from STO because he's personally not good at it.

By the way, I'm a Fed, and my record is 3 klingon player ships destroyed with a single torp spread III. Who's overpowered now?

There's a loser here, all right... it's the one who reports other players to Cryptic for being better than him.

    Reading this made me smile.

Fleet advanced escort. Two advanced fleet quantums, fore and aft. 5x 30% quantum damage tac consoles. 2-piece adapted MACO bonus (25% torp/mine dmg). Rule 62 console bonus (11% torp/mine dmg). Main offensive ability: Torpedo Spread III + II.

Other weapons/offensive abilities include AP DHC + DBB for shield popping (pair of BO I and one CRF I), isometric charge, and gravity well. 6 points in particle emitters, 6 points in starship sensors. Other goodies equipped include tachyokinetic converter, borg and romulan universal consoles, and a subspace field modulator. 3 Romulan crit boffs as well.

If I fire my torp spread, and you're in range... it doesn't matter if you move out of range, cloak, or evade... they'll catch you. Spreads do not miss. I'd say a good half of my kills are Klingons who obligingly turned off their shields and cloaked with a buttload of my torps on their tail. The coolest thing about this setup is how frequently it scores multi-kills. The sight of 3 klinks exploding from a single torp spread is just beautiful.

Playing kerrat last night just getting my fed 10 had this one fed player in a lifer ship which I killed 6 times, pretty much one shooting on the alpha decloak.:):)

He/she starts saying that I'm the problem with the game and the klinks make it no fun.
At which point I pm him/her saying its nothing personal but the ship he's in has weak shield and he's/she's slow to react to my bop doing an alpha strike on him.:P

Just wondering if anyone else is getting stick from the Feds in kerrat when they go boom!

Nope when I have pissed of a FED and made them cry I know my ancestors are singing tales of my daring do in Sto'Vo'Kor. I'm a Klink its what we do.

If that ever happened, kerrat would die out very quickly. First of all, cryptic would be forced to implement it as a queue mission. Why? Well for the simple reason that feds outnumber the kdf like what... 1000 to 1? If left as is currently, kdf will be spawn camped to death, doesn't matter how bad fed fail builds are.

As I said, I recall it used to be like that (with the dilihtium rewards, 1440 for every 3 runs, plus a piece of ship equipment) from what I recall. Especially since Kerrat had no cool down time that I can recall. After they mostly removed the large dilihtium rewards with the exception of the one that shows up every now and then, it largely gotten back to being balanced.

    it's just BOP jelousy...

You see, your average fed see's a Bird of Prey and thier mind goes "wow, what a kool looking ship.." then they realize that the BOP is not a fed ship.

and when they realize that a well handled BOP is every bit as deadly as it is visually stunning, with... they turn into 9 year olds having a bad day. 9 year olds, with overly indulgent parents. Unfortunatly Daddy Stahl, and Moma "Geko" Rivera just refuse to make the BOP any easier of an opponent for them. They have to dig into the data base of exploits cheats and hacks to win.. or learn the games combat systems... and... how to fight thier ships. And they have to learn the ships...

When ever I feel I need to be entertained I go read the fed ship forums and such with the constant threads of This ship is OP, or that ship is OP, buff/nerf some particular class of ship, and my favorite "WHAT SHIP IS BEST?" (now personally I have a thing for KDF battlecruisers, but thats just me.)

Eventually they either learn, or go find another game to play.

I'd never been to ke'rrat until i got dragged there by a fleet mate, and i could feel the Fed chat suck several IQ points from my brain, they're just little kids in there. So i was in my oddy, playing the objective when out of no where a transphasic torp boat kept on attacking me, and for some odd reason, it could cloak in battle *shrug* I'm at 30 HP, and he comes over my stern for another pass, i activate ramming speed and destroyed his little flimsy BOP, (for the record it was the default ship) and then he rages at me for killing him and leaves. I just avoid kerrat period unless i'm on my klingon now. The klink IQ is generally higher than feds.

It is astounding how most of the Fed' players do not even try to use teamwork, and I am a primary Fed' player!

    It's understandable somewhat.

Due to the KDF's smaller playerbase and the obsessiveness required to keep playing them, the average skill level skews far higher than with feds.

Also Kerrat attracts mainly Fed PvEers and KDF PvPers (since Fed PvPers have the more active FvF queues), so there's going to generally be a big difference in skill level.

    Hehehh :D

First - Where did you hear that? I kinda' hoped the Elachi lockbox started a new trend of creating new universals that can be used by everyone.

Second - If true, can't say I'm really suprised.

Can I just add that I was told by a little tribble, who heard from someone else long ago that the devs once said that c store consoles would eventually go to the other faction?

But seriously, I did once see a vet player say that the devs once said that.
I ask nothing but that you remember me.

Even if Feds ever DO get AAs in a lockbox, 95% of em won't know how to use it properly irregardless, then probably complain about it being 'underpowered'.

Especially if the devs fix it's CD to be 3 minutes like other stuff.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.

If it is true then it is a proof that decision makers have a hard on when it comes to giving KDF exclusive stuff to Feds. I won't be surprised if they wear federation skirts with UFP logo on the crouch area.

Sooner or later, you might see Feds running around with KDF honor guard costume.

This is exactly the reason why I quit playing PvP.

There are apparently Voth pets with variations of the AA so its going to end up in federation hands. Besides heaven forbid that the factions have some unique flavor to them.

^^ This a thousand times. Ker'rat is the best thing about STO... after all of the smack talking, spawn camping and QQing you can see a zone settle down with Feds & KDF chilling out above cracked planet, discussing builds etc.

there needs to be more areas like Kerrat

Kerat should be the place where only iron heart and best of the best should go. If some player starts crying mommy after a few insults then he is clearly at the wrong place.

OMG I can't believe this thread is still going........I started it so long ago.

I run a small fed fleet (The Space Invaders) now so my klink toons have become glorified dill farmers which is a shame. But with the cat event I've dusted them off, so much fun.......but I've noticed that the klinks have definitely fallen behind in the recent power creep.

Still alpha shooting a fed as my bop comes out of cloak puts a big smile on my face.:P

It is indeed a glorious feeling when you can manage to pull that off in a BoP. It's harder than it used to be, sadly. There are a LOT more factors to take into account, and I've seen people running apparently no active buffs shrug off a BO3 hit as if it didn't happen. Things are just really annoying nowadays.

Happens more often than you think.. In the good old days you could still change sides in Ker'rat.. Too funny, have been ignored as well :D, only after they insulted me first ofcourse!

That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.

I call it, the Stoutes paradox.

Most Federation captains go to Currat for farming q00bs and hulks for blue MK XII tetty cunsuls. They don't wanna be disturbed by Klinguns, that's why they ignore Klingun captains after they got oneshotted from an uncloaking burd of prey. :D If I just wanna do the 1'440 liffium daily in Currat, I simply log out when a Klingun is shooting me and wait a few minutes until he lost interest, then I fly to the planet and wait for the others to finish the mission. :D
