    Is there a difference?

I remember when I played my Atari...I had it plugged into an outlet on a lightswitch...And if I flipped the switch off/on really fast, a game like Pac-Man or Pitfall loaded into a weird glitched board (level).

Used to be cool. So maybe there isn't a difference.

The world for this game QUITE LITERALLY revolves around the time zone that the company that runs it resides in. As much as I agree that the world doesn't revolve around the USA like most people NOT from the USA, I'd expect that if the game was based in Japan or the UK or New Zealand, the times quoted would be the times in Japan, the UK or New Zealand.

You have the internet. It is in NO WAY difficult to find the time difference between zones. Google is your friend. Or, you know, Bing is your weird uncle that you have to get occasional help from.

It's correct. The startup time will be 12 PM PST, which is 11 PM UTC.

    ...and 3PM EST...

in the same boat here aswell, i have been saving up the 300 bucks for lts but this week conserns me greatly, connection issues, lots of downtime, getting totally stuck on a cactus during the colluseum mission....i'll be waiting till things kindof settle down before paying cash for this...dont get me wrong its an epic game well worth the time/effort/cash but only if the issues get worked out soon.

Come on guys, let's see if we can make it to 100 pages before the maintenance is finished! :D

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

Looks like we've nailed down the issue with the launcher! WHOO HOO! :D Now, just to complete maintenance and get you all in-game. Who's ready for the Anniversary Event?!

    Cheers,

    Brandon =/\=

Congrats! I know that was painful! :)

Just some info - launcher loads (a little slowly, but gets there) - still hitting France from Western Michigan.

What is that one weird time zone that is 30 minutes off instead of an hour? I bet that gets really confusing...

If I ever set up an on-line game company, I'm gonna base it there to really keep people confused...

I must admit to being a little concerned, on being told "maintenance has been extended, please refer to the forums for more details"... to find the forums providing nothing but database errors and apologies for the inconvenience.

Is there any sort of fall-back for information when this happens? I tried Perfect World's main homepage, but (as I rather expected) found no news there.

(Yes, obviously, the forums are back up now... assuming I succeed in posting this... but if I don't, no one will ever know I was wrong, will they?)

    (I think I'm confused now.)

    11 PM UTC.

EDIT: Oops! You're right. I kept converting the time to EST (my time) in my head and then went and adjusted for that instead of the original PST.
