It's correct. The startup time will be 12 PM PST, which is 11 PM UTC.

I thought that UTC was the same as GMT at the moment???

The last time I checked the Brittish Empire colapsed.

There is no more a good reason to use GMT then any other in this day and age. PST is perfect when the servers are located PST.

In this global community we live in now, adjusting to time zones is a fact of life. Holding on to some silly pride in the location you happen to be in is rediculous.

Couldn't agree more. Despite what they think across the pond the world does not revolve around the United States of America.

well it revolves around whatever time zone ur company is in
they are based on the west coast of the united states, hence they use their time zone, as it should be
i have to add 3 hrs every time i read a post time, but ill live, so will everyone else

u cant please everyone, there are 24 time zones and no matter which one u pick, 23 other zones will complain.

Several times, and a couple of arguments about times zones. 12 pst (GMT-8), as long as everything goes to plan.

im making jokes but when there done there done

however i am right they did design the game so the probly hae unkillble ships built usless they fight eachother.

Two points as far as timezone stuffz...

First, as to times Cryptic gives us, I'd like to point out that given they work in PST, giving times in that referent makes sense. trying to convert only makes for errors. Secondly, this maintenence would have started two hours before 'normal work hours' for them.

Lastly, as far as the 'PST over GMT' thing... May I point out that the few things that are on a 'gobal' timer ARE keyed to UTC (such as Dilith refining resets)

So, your point would be.... what exactly?

nope. and the patch notes are just as bad as the people doing the maintance. not one word mentioned in the patch notes about the event that is going live after the maintance. not one word on them fixing the launcher or anything else. complete fail on bran flakes. to the brig for you.

Well, aside from the fact that it's halfway round the world from the International Date Line and provides a good "midpoint"... ;)
