didn't you say the launcher issue resolution would coincide with the completion of maintenance?

Didn't you read the updates that followed afterward?

just tried loging in to test but my sever kept timing out so how do i do that thing you guys are posting. looks like some kinda regedit thing.

    Its simple to do

    Test 1: tracert

For Windows, hit the start button
Where it says Search All Files and Programs, type CMD and press ENTER
The first result should be cmd.exe
Right-click on cmd.exe and select Run as Administrator
A black, command-prompt window should appear
From here type the following command:
    tracert accounts.crypticstudios.com

    then tracert launcher.startrekonline.com

Our should-be-final test has started -- is anyone seeing any issues with the launcher? If so, please place your tracerts here (info on how to do this here) pointing to launcher.startrekonline.com and accounts.crypticstudios.com.

    Cheers,

I know some of you all are complaining about update patches and such, but would you rather more bugs be introduced? They maybe trying to fix some bugs (albiet only a few), but if they rush their patch or not do a maintenance patch, i can guarantee everyone would be complaining about it on here. So, take you pick, do not do a patch and keep current bugs, or let them do more than one patch a week and hopefully fix some stuff, and not introduce more bugs?

I prefer they take as many patches they need to fix stuff. If they need extra's. go for it cryptic. Fix those bugs!

Glad the launcher work is going well though. Looking forward to the Anniversary Event!
Is there another event? I thought this was it! :))))))))))))))))))))))

Couldn't agree more. Despite what they think across the pond the world does not revolve around the United States of America.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Naah, I'll pass. You want to exert that you have the right to rant, others also have the same right to post. And to do so by mocking you if they so choose.

Sorry, you are not a winner. Please try again.

I am totally new to STO and thinking of subscribing. With the patch connection problems the other day and today, is this a common occurrence?

All of the these responses have been fun to read. Very entertaining, some very intelligently written, some funny, some serious, and some TRIBBLE. This is the funniest community ever

Um...uh...no I'm really struggling to think of one, Pong was good..

Are you kidding? The first patch made the paddles too big, the second turned them pink. (which was odd, considering the B&W nature of the game). Three days downtime, then when it came back up, it ate my cat. Pong updates were hell, man.

I completely agree, but sadly it seems Cryptic is more interested in fixing bugs that were introduced with the planned patch rather than long-standing existing ones :(

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."
