So, this isn't meant as a complaint, but an honest question. Is the qeue broken? Since I tried to login again after the patch, I get to the login qeue, position 13513 out of *X*. X changes, but my position has not in about 10 minutes. So... busted?
Haha nah. I used to work security for major retail and when customers started acting like that to our customer reps, we escorted them out of the building. We then laughed at them. Sometimes when we had certain really berserko ones we would pull up the camera footage and laugh at them. Managers too. So yeah, your scenario doesn't happen lol.
First you were a renta loser, and second probably why its "use to work", and that dudes scenerio does happen all the time, since I used to fire employees all the time for it. As a service rep its your job no matter how stupid the customer is being to be polite.

People ranting about what number they are (me, Im 6006 in que) but heres the kicker...I was actually ingame and was kicked out so a subscriber can play....when I try to log back in...I hit the que....now that is total bull****...but you shouldn't expect anything less from PW and crytic
Several reasons why you are suffering on a long queue....
1. LOR was just released a few hours ago so of course there is a large number of people wanting to play it. I'm in position 11780 as of this posting and I don't really care. And probably 7000 others behind me. That means I have to wait for 11779 people to abandon login attempt/go to bed to get on. I have other things to do.
2. PWE has several different games sharing server space. STO being a larger one still has a limit on how much space it can enjoy.
3. The server was only brought back online half an hour or so ago. Of course you have a lot of people trying to get on but you have to acknowledge that the servers probably are not operating at 100% capacity.
4. Maintaining server space is expensive for MMORPGS. The network can only handle so much data being transmitted. If you think your internet bill is pricy try owning a large MMORPG server. Yes I get it you can upgrade your server space but the network can only handle so much data being transmitted. Purchasing server space is more or less a one time fee with some maintenance costs but network capacity is a repeated bill that will go up as your server space increases.
5. If you can't stand the queue, just leave. No one says you have to play STO right now. It will still be here tomorrow. This is actually my first time seeing a queue message and I understand the reasons for it.
6. STOs servers are actually fairly large to start out with. In sector space you can easily have ten different zones for a single block during busy hours totaling around 800 players. And if you have an additional 10 ground/orbit maps totaling 600 players each across all zones (figures being low estimates). Don't forget the other environments like foundry, missions, STFs, pvp, etc. You can easily total over 20,000 players and still not see large queues forming. So don't blame them for "not having enough server space." This is actually the first time I've seen a queue message. This is simply a one time occurrence because of all the promotion for the new content. It's just like trying to go to a movie theater and get tickets for an opening day show on opening day. When the movie is something everyone wants to see, your patience will be tested in the ticket lines.
Thank you PWE for all your hard work so far. I appreciate it.
Well....huh..... WHAT THE HELL!? IT'S LIKE CRYPTIC NEVER BOTHERED TO LEARN FROM BLIZZARD AND EA!!! YOU ******N SCUMBAGS!!! THIS MAKES ERROR 37 LOOK LIKE CANDY MOUNTAIN!!! GO TO HELL CRYPTIC! FIX THE PROBLEM, OR ELSE!
Or else what? You'll nerd rage more.
It isn't that they didn't learn. I'm betting they learned a lot. But I'm guessing that they are experiencing new issues.

The Queue for log in. And interesting sight to see. Not the first time this game has had to que players, wont be the last time.
You can love it for the fact that it acknowledges a lot of people are playing, or you can hate it because it means the servers limited capacity is in your way.
But it is still the queue.
Oh how sad a queue... only around 15000 players registered today.
It cries "pew pew" shoot me more servers today!
Oh sad queue, such low numbers today.
So many people have come out to play... yet so few and far in between at the same time today.
Over the hills, through the woulds, in the desert oasis, on the top of a mountain today.
Connect, connect, some want to play.
Oh queue, oh queue, will you let me in today?
And thus ends this sad failed attempt at poetry today!

Same here. I got kicked out 1 minute into the game. I went to select my new space skills and wham...logged out. Now, I'm back in the que at number 2000. Done with this TRIBBLE for tonight. I knew I should have avoided the first day. Epic fail.
that's not the point you brown nose stained TRIBBLE sniffer. if you went to the car dealer and just spent 50,000 dollars on a car, how would you feel if the dealer said thanks for the money, but you'll have to wait in line to drive the car... for about a month. ??? this game is not a freaking night club where i can choose to walk down the street to another club if i want to. its like any other thing in which you pay entry fees. try telling the same thing to people who pay 1,000 dollars for indy 500 tickets that they only get to watch the last 20 laps.
Let me guess, your 5 years old? Isn't it past your bedtime? Does the itty baby need his pampers changed? Does mommy need to buy you some pull ups so you can feel like a big kid now?
I was at 724 in queue, but since my position on the queue did not change at all I thought something was wrong; after all, if the person in the front of the queue got in then my number would go down.
So I logged off and on again, and put myself over 10,000th in queue. Great.
Then it timed out and disconnected me. It kind of defeats the point of having a queue if you can time out while you're in it.
Now I get "Account server connection could not be started."
Hmmmmm... did it go down again?
I bet, no matter if u was 724 or +10000, because wont be move those position numbers.
Just wait and see when then new fix coming. Look tom me this is something loop error.
if there where going to be so much problems with this launch perfect world should have kept star trek off line until all the bugs where work out been waiting since 730 to play the game it took four hours to load then 30 mins to get in and for the hour i was able to play there where game issues if they didnt fix this soon im going to delete my account and let others know about the bs perfect world is pulling

Update! We are aware that some players are seeing an error upon login and are working to resolve this.
I had decided not to buy a Legacy Pack. When Branflakes announced the price increase I figured I might try and pinch pennies to get one.
But, after the hardware failures they had during beta. After all the marketing, it looks like they were completely unprepared and I'm disappointed.
I may try the new Klingon stuff on tribble- if I can get in there. Chances are though, I'll just give up on trying to play STO at all tonight.
Those of you that get in, enjoy. My life's too short for this

Nope. Expansion is still free.
The Expansion is not linked to those packs. Those are entirely optional purchases, no one said "You need this pack to get the LoR expansion."

They should have rented more servers. At least for a week. That doesn't seem like that hard of a concept, does it?
lol but the patch...
ok I get it ,this is beta testing live ...
It seems like the sort of thing that only happens once in life. Worth commemorating. I might make a wallpaper out of it or something.

What was the landscape like? Was there even a population?
My TRIBBLE. They couldn't care less...
Let me guess, your 5 years old? Isn't it past your bedtime? Does the itty baby need his pampers changed? Does mommy need to buy you some pull ups so you can feel like a big kid now?
Well it only took about 20,000 people in the queue to get some action...
