I have an idea that's sort of a compromise as I'm not a bug owner, but I myself want the pets, but not for roughly 400 USD. So here it is.the devs put a bug token in the lobi store worth maybe 400? Lobi which provides the unlock on a per toon basis. Owners of the bug get this unlock for free acct wide, both sides win.
this was my idea from a day ago.By unlock i was refering to the pet unlock as well.
The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not. - Thomas Jefferson
Its got nothing to do with dedication and perseverance to play the game, its just discrimination based on pure dumb luck. Some players who didnt got the ship spent a few times more (both money and time) then others who did got the ship. And now that you got the best ship in the game you get the best hangar pet too??? I guess you needed to feel more special lol
Also its about new players since then can get it atm, the promotions shouldnt be linked between them, it might even go there when u cant use or obtain a whole ship if u dont get the last promotion one.
At least as someone else sugested here put the JHAS hangar pet for sale (for high dil price) for rest of the ppl with dreadnaughts and for free for those who own an JH atack ship.
The bug ship has been available on the exchange since it's inception. If you are too lazy to buy one, that's on YOU.
Lord forbid that you can't get rverything in game in 5 minutes...
Too lazy to get one? It costs 400-500 million EC. At the cheapest, maybe it was what? 300 million EC? Most people will never in their life be able to get one of those. It's too expensive. It has nothing to do with being lazy. By the time I make 500 million EC, it would be 2018. You're just assuming that every person who wants something in this game plays it 24/7 or even has the time to play it 24/7.
The bug pet should be available to those who have purchased the Dreadnought ship. The fact that it's only available to those who have the Attack ship is stupid.

are you seriously that ignorant? people are too LAZY? to get one of the rarest, most expensive, and sought after ships in game? even by EC farmers/sellers register 450million ec is 500 bucks, the actual time it takes to buy it on the exchange by legitimate farming means is just near impossible.
laziness has nothing to do with it.
keep in mind, we aren't just complaining about not being able to get an "Exclusive" item for ourselves, its the fact we paid for a Dreadnought who's most unique defining and only useful feature is locked away for those with another very rare and expensive ship. the fighters on the dreadnought even the elite ones are utter TRIBBLE.
at moment its not importend on any way yes the acces to the jem attack ship pet is crazy expensive but its one of the most lame pets in the game only a nice visual not more, so why crying for it?
the jem attak ship pet is a totally TRIBBLE so be happy to not have it.;)

i have pay the tons of money and know it.
because it is better than the fighters, at the very least the attack ships and fighters will be updated in the future, but either way the argument that the dreadnoughts most unique feture is locked away for the lucky few. making the dreadnought almost worthless.
My KDF Science main only uses Carriers and I'd never have need of the Jem Bug ship since I'm pure Science speced and would never use the thing (I'd sell it 1st).
I collect Carriers on my KDF main and I have the Vo'Quv and the Mirror version, the Kar'Fi and the Recluse.
I was really looking foward to adding the Jem Carrier to my line up but this whole you can't buy it's best hanger options unless you own and unpack the Jem Bug ship is killing it for me.
If Cryptic wanted to go this rout they should have offered 3 versions of the Hanger Bug.
A standard Rare one that could have been picked up from the Shipyard vendor.
A Very Rare one that would come from the Dilithium Store (Open to Everyone)
A Ultra Rare one that is only available for players that own the Bug ship either buy crafting it or buying it from the D-Store.
With the above i think all involved would have been happy.
The best versions of the Hanger bugs would still only be available for the owners of the bug ship but at lease the players that did not own the Bug would still have 2 available sets of the Hanger Bugs available to them.
Instead of complaining, complaining & and making "I'm gonna leave this game" threats, just relax and be patient. This event with the current lockboxes is still fairly new, so you can guarantee there will be a few patches to correct any bugs with the new Jemmy Ships, gameplay, as well as fixes to stats to balance things out. I own all the Jemmy ships, and I'm sure there will be tweaks/nerfing here and there. Being negative and demanding wont convince the devs to fix these problems right away. I am also waiting to see what the devs will do, I'm checking the STO websites & forums for updates. Please be patient as things will be done on schedule. No sense in raging or crying about it now. Lets all just wait and see what they will do, just like I am.

I have not seen one "I'm gonna leave this game" remark in this thread whatsoever. also although the fighters and the bug hangar pets are scratchy, its also about getting the bug hangar for all with the dreadnought.
but yea, I still find the fact it is restricted to people who have an even more expensive and rare ship, when if you wanna give them a bonus, give them a new exclusive set or maybe some unique weapons.
Well if they are going to do something like this they please put the Attack Ship back into the lockbox to give new players a chance to get the goodies too?
Sage idea? yes?
Monkey see, Monkey do. Monkey flings Feathered Monkey poo...
I really really hope they give access to the jemmy attack ships to all with the dreadnought, and fix both the attack ships and the fighters. hopefully by the next patch.
I favor the idea of a bonus version for the owners of a jem hadar attack ship, might be because i have one, but would agree with those who want it to be an account wide unlock. I have mine for my tactical officer, I wouldn't fly anything else let alone a dreadnought on my tactical officer. I do however have a dreadnought I'd like to open for my science officer, or maybe engineer, but there is no way I am going to open a 450mil EC ship just for the hanger pets on either of those characters, and if I did I would probably never use the dreadnought. It just makes no sense being per character, no sense at all.
My engineer is a carrier captain, I love the concept of carriers and the feel of flying a carrier. When the Jem'hadar attack fighter was still "obtainable" I made no attempt to achieve it as it had nothing to do with my play style. I felt somewhat slighted to read that the amazing new Jem'hadar carrier pets would require the Jem'hadar attack ship just to purchase.
This is incredibly bogus, Why does the new carrier require the rarest ship in the game in order to use it's pets?! I don't understand the developers decisions, it feels arbitrary and inconsistent. Personally I would have rather they made them available for 2500 zen (the average amount for zen store ships), or at least had a more direct route to obtaining them (like a simple side quest that requires a lot of dilithium).
Look its very simple. The bugship dreadnought hanger is a premier option for people who already own a jem hadar attack ship. Just like you can't buy galor beams without a galor or mount those wonderful karfi frigates on your atrox. Complaining won't change that nor will any "amazing ideas" that dilute the premier emphasis of these products and thus their attractiveness to consumers. I'd go into an explanation about marketing and value perceptions but I think it would be wasted here.
If you're griping about a treat given to the portion of the player population who have put in the time and effort to acquire an attack ship during or outside any of the promotions over the past year then that's just green tinged jealousy. Why do the smiths have a 300" TV that takes up their entire wall? Because they can. Don't expect your own 300" TV without going out and earning one when they're actually available. Can't afford one? Then do without, that's life.
Limited time offer you say? That's what all lockbox ships are. It's also how this F2P game makes a decent portion of its income, so if you want to complain about that system you may as well uninstall and load up an exclusively subscription based MMO where you can grind out 20 man raids and compete for the one drop you want with every other person, with weekly raid lockouts per instance. I hear WoW and Rift still have those.
After a year or so you might get that relic bow you wanted.;)

The attractiveness of the JHAS is that it is perhaps the best Escort available. And that isn't diminished at all. Access to exclusive pets was never advertised and didn't previously play a role in the evaluation of the JHAS.
To use your analogy: People just expect the microwave, they bought, to work without having to have bought a limited-offer TV earlier, because they are only interested in microwaves.
I find that the Lobi store and associated lockboxes are just a viscous circle.
The more people pay money into opening boxes for Lobi and the small chance at the ship, the more ways Cryptic/PWE will find to make sure you need to open even more to fulfill getting the items.
This is just another example.
Once all you had to do is get one ship.
Then you had to one ship and a unique space set as well.
Then they made you get two ships and a space set to complete it.
Now they not only want you to get both ships, they now want you to get a third ship to complete the set just so you can buy some rare fighter...

PS: overstretched analogy alarm
Lol
To continue your microwave analogy,
You go to a store to by a microwave, the sales clerk tells you that in order for you to use the microwaves hi setting you have to have previously purchased their 300" tv. Although the 300" tv is quite valuable, it isn't something you particularly want as it wouldn't be appropriate for house (character setup). But, lets say that you still want that microwave and its hi setting. You tell the clerk, "ok, I have deep pockets, I'll buy that insanely expensive tv that I won't use". The sales clerk then informs you that the tv was a limited time promotion that they stopped selling years ago.
It's like that picture of Darth Vader filtering ocean water,
Sense! It makes none!
1) 800 Lobi for the carrier
2) 500 million EC for the attack ship provided you did not get one from x-mas promo or LB
And the fighters don't work, suck, etc?
I am sorry, but that is too funny.
You missed the other promo that generation JHAS this past November. I expect we'll still see more JHAS promos as time goes on given it's popularity, and place at the 'top of the food chain'. as it were.
As a Bug owner, I would have to say let everyone with a Dreadnought get the very rare Bug pets, but tweak them down to be more on par with the other pets in the game.
Add a second Ultra-Rare Bug pet that can be purchased by players who have the Bug ship unlocked.
Bug ship owners already get to slap people in the face just by owning one, there is no reason to rub it in their face yet again with pets.
You know Cryptic has Jumped the Proverbial Shark when they introduced Tractor Pulling to Star Trek Online!

we shouted loud and long for the fed carrier, and that wasnt so trivial.

how do the karfi advanced frigate/fighter pets, orion advanced slavers/interceptors and advanced BoP do dps wise? could u guys make like a countdown?
like :
1 rommie scorps
2 ....
3 ....
i know that the rommie scorps rank first ofc.
but going on highest lvl possible pet, could u guys make a list from strong to weak?
ive searched the forums but didnt find anything plz help a new player
I belive the BoP are more for survivability, the interceptors would do more dps compared to the slavers though.
WE... need MORE... ellipsis abuse on the... internet.
terribly terribly broken.
thanks alot for this info already, do u know how karfi pets stack up??
thanks again
it stacks ok, they have slightly more dps than some interceptors, but I cannot say too much since I'm no expert.

yep....fighters suck, the Hangar Attack ships only availible if you have the bug and dreadnought.
