Oh, I tease the DEVs. I know what they do isn't easy and it takes some know-how. Being an editor, I know how tedious the work can get as it's similar to what I do at times. Yeah, I know I'm not coding, but like coding, I have to go through and make sure there are absolutely no mistakes or things go bad.
My friend took a C++ class in college and he said it can be very tedious. One small typo and the program you are trying to build may not operate at all or as intended. And finding and correcting that one problem can take forever.
This is why I don't mind buying Zen every now and then. I do it with the hope that some of that money ends up in the pockets of the DEVs.
Have a heart. Feed a DEV.
No, I am not who you think I am. I am someone different. I am instead a banana.
Clearly I caused that other game to fold. On my own. The declining playerbase and vanishing revenue had nothing to do with it.

Yeah I've seen software devs in action, sitting behind a console copypasting code and fixing typos doesn't qualify as "hard work." Nor does slapping a half done texture on a poorly rendered model.
I am actually referring to another game I gave up on here, not STO. STO is slowly becoming "that other game" in terms of shear bug-creep and shortcutting. "Oh look another new weapon, same as the one from LAST season except it's PURPLE and shoots twice as fast!"
When a game gets to this point, I start reducing my play time. Eventually, I'll be done with it all together.
I left another game i had played for about 18 months and came here because the other game was one gianourmous bug if it wasnt broken those devs would "Fix" it and break it.
In the past 2 months on STO ive come to relise though not as buggy as my last game there are bugs that hurt gameplay but instead of fixing these issues we get lock boxes and new weapons like the ones you just stated.
Personally i had hoped that the klingon faction would add more to my STO experiance and enjoyment ..it did not it just added to my dissapointment.
I will continue to play STO but as time goes on my interest will decrease until i finally log off one last time and find something else.

Here's the thing for me, I'm going to be honest here.
I'm an LTS, I also buy zen from time to time. I love Star Trek, this game had a lot of potential. I'm happy to pay the developers to realize that potential.
Unfortunately at the moment, money just seems to be going into the production of more short term revenue producing gambling boxes and no serious content. Please I don't want to hear anyone say New Romulus is serious content, it's a kiddies sandbox.
Heck I would just be happy if my money went to fixing the thousands of bugs.
The sad truth is it's gotten so bad that I would happily accept Cryptic ripping me off even more by opening a bug auction thread where we could donate money towards a bug and once it say reached $1000 or whatever they would have to fix it.
Thats how bad it is.
Heck I would give a kidney just to be able to save my inventory power trays for each ship.
Can you tell us ahead of time how long the unplanned extended downtime and emergency unexpected downtime will be? I'm busy tomorrow I don't want to miss out on a chance to complain about something.
I ate lunch took a bunch of smoke breaks and watched Star Trek 6 Undiscovered Country and logged in and said down for maintenance still LOL.. I guess they extended it some more...

Maintenance is defined as activities that maintain operations. This is why automobiles have "scheduled maintenance." They're actually modifying and adding content, which is more than maintenance. Let's be honest, though: the least valuable commodity in the game are credits. I use mine to buy contraband to convert to dilithium. Sometimes I cave and buy Zen in excess of my monthly stipend to buy dilithium. It's the limiter in the game, and thus it's the most valuable commodity. You can get everything else in unlimited quantities each day, only limited by the time you wish to put into the game. Play all you want, you won't get more than 8,000 (or 9,000 at 800 days) dilithium each day, unless you buy refined ore from the Exchange, per character. You can convert EC into keys, which open lock boxes, and you can convert Dilithium to ZEN to buy things in the C-Store. Anyone who's actively part of a fleet or doing the reputation system(s) knows that dilithium is what takes up the majority of the delay in rapidly advancing. So, yes, this is maintenance, and it's adding new features. But, LB keys are not the source of income - that's dilithium.
The only thing that has happened, is that You are about 30 Minutes Early with that post...
