I did try changing the graphics and setting them higher but that did nothing. And really it is only the beam when it fires that I can't see. The item shows up in my inventory and weapon slot just fine.
STO has crashed on me several times the last few days. Twice, STO has automatically initialized a full dump and sent it back to PWE. (The dumps are between 600 - 750 MB..... Thankfully, I have a 20MB upstream pipe!)
Oh I had two open, but I have on open now that I am politely or at least trying to be polite communicating with them. And it is on there that I tell them about where I crashed. No sense in taking up resources with submitting multiple tickets. I just make sure mine stays open. See when I crash, the entire computer crashes. It freezes and I have to pull the power and restart. I was trying today to get their error reporting program to send them a error dump to them. But my internet is not as fast and it has been a bit inconsistent recently so instead I got tied up with the internet tech support.
These bugs they have no intention of fixing the reason why is...It does not affect the new ships that have been released so the above mentioned bug that was present on tribble is not a concern because the ships works. The problem to this is...They did a beta test to identify problems so they can be fixed prior to release of S7. What im wondering is what was the point of the beta test if they didnt fix anything they found from the beta test..And the answer to that is......The ship worked properly in the beta test so no fixes are necessary. I almost bought a lifetime membership before S7 but decided to wait...I am sure the hell glad i didnt buy it...As of right now there are so many and bugs that are crashing the game that it should be took down for serious server maintenance. I know with the team Dev guys they have now they can find and resolve these issues especially with all the reports they are getting from us. I know I love STO alot and play it alot but it is getting to be alot of trouble everytime i do anything with new content that pertains to S7 my system crashes, Here is the difference though I dont have onboard graphics. This issues alone is major..There is a serious issue with S7 and how the graphics are being rendered but more likely there is a set of bad codes there somewhere that is crashing video drivers..and yes PWE please fix it..and PWE its not our computers doing it..It is your server that is messed up..PWE feel free to contact me if you need specifics about what i found.I have been a tech for over 20 years now so i know what to look and possibly how to fix it.
I must say S7 is a great update that is awesome but with such serious issues causing crashes it is getting real bothersome. It is not good at all for a computer to shutdown like this all the time. It can serious issues with Windows and can cause permanent damage to the OS resulting in reinstall and then loss of customers data on there computers which you should be countable for since the crashes are a direct result of your poor coding and beta testing a update with no real testers with any experience
If they make something idiot proof. They will come out with better idiots
This is getting really annoying. Another patch and it has been about a month since S7 came out and this graphics bug is still not fixed. Looks like most of you should lose your jobs if you are this incompetent.
The only thing that's obvious is that it's getting worse - I can't go eight seconds today without my computer freezing and then blacking out and then the video driver crashing. I've even swapped to zones that used to be stable and they're no longer okay.
My wife was asking if I wanted the lifetime subscription to this game.... but some reason.... something I just can't put my finger on.... I just didn't want to spend the money....
Dude use the edit button, posting over and over again isn't going to get you anymore attention than in trouble with forum moderators
I've notice that New Romulus seems to be more demanding of my card, I've actually had an"Insufficient memory, loading with reduced texture" error come up a few times, something that has never happened with my computer before season 7. I find it unusual since I have no framerate problems etc. on that world under any circumstances. I'm not going to accept arguments that the problem is my computer since it doesn't occur in other parts of the game nor any other game that I play. I can play WoW and SW:TOR(a game that is a ridiculous resource hog) without problems, I'm inclined to think that Season 7 has a memory leak or some other serious bug that is causing problems that weren't there prior to S7.
If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.
I'm not sure if this is the same issue, a related issue, or something else entirely.
The missus has been having random freezes, they can happen anywhere (Winter Wonderland, Tau Dewa, Starbase 24, etc). When the game freezes, there's no error, the entire screen just... stops.
She can alt-tab out to Windows, but can't kill the GameClient execution using Task Manager. Also, after this happens, actually shutting down her PC is problematic. It will go through the entire shutdown process... but not actually turn off at the end, it basically hibernates with all the running lights still lit. The only way to completely turn off the machine is by holding down the power button. And when she turns it back on, there's no "unexpected shutdown, do you want to boot in safe mode etc" screen, it just starts as normal.
However, if she doesn't go through the turning off process, the PC suffers a complete lock-up after about 10 minutes from when STO stopped.

Yep - this happens to me several times a minute almost everywhere.

Several times a minute? Sounds like it may be a different thing then, hers doesn't sporadically unfreeze to refreeze, it just stays permanently frozen until the PC's restarted.

If I sent them a ticket every time STO hiccups, I'd spend more time sending them a ticket than anything else.
Today is one month since they released this disaster. So is PWE choosing to TRIBBLE around with us?

Nope - you got the right thread.
WHY DOES PWE NOT FIX THIS?

STOP IGNORING THIS PROBLEM!!!!

What's PWE going to do in response? Make the game completely unplayable? It's pretty much that way now.
