What is the effect of sensor analysis on tet-glider?

I gave it a quick test on the Fleet Recon and it appears tet glider's only affected by weapons power and flow cap. It isn't Tac-buffable (except insofar as you proc it more often) either.

We are STAR TREK FANS, we want STAR TREK STORY

    Speak for yourself.

I dislike nothing more then reading pages of dialog telling me the obvious (usually writtin in my quest log anyway) when I just want to get on with the actual gameplay.

If you want a static story - then watch an episode or read a book.

MMO content should be interactive and the players should be the ones creating the story.

This is where STO really fails, players have no effect at all on the universe.

Our actions have no consequences. Our PvP has no point or goals, our PvE has no replayability because it is completely static...

... although this topic is meant to be about ship balance, does it really matter when in the end it is all pointless?

All that said, I can understand why some people want featured episodes and story content. Fine, just don't make it static. Make new content a dynamic system with consequences (for example: the overall average of a faction captain's renowns influence content/story/space ownership/friends and enemies - and make PvP also affect renown in some way).

Each comes with 1. Buy the pack and you'll have 3 total. They may have intended you use all 3 together? Though you'd TRIBBLE over your sci powers if aux was always drained from cannonfire.
that blog destroyed quite a few of my brain cells, so i might have got this wrong, gonna double check. the impression i got though was that 2 of the ships came with consoles, and 1 of them came with the cannons.

    ...

i see, there was 3 consoles. add that to the list of overpowering features, if you can equip the 3 you will get, you don't even need weapons energy. AT ALL. you can put everything in 3 of 4 subsystems and be impacted in 0 way. this ship is so over powered, its twice as good as the next best thing.

Even if you buy 1 ship, you can just put the DHC into your inventory and reclaim your ship to get another DHC.

So the item has to have the property of fitting only 1 on a ship. But that we only can check if we could see the tooltip

I can't wait till construction begins on something to give constructive feedback too.. for the KDF :)

No reason why the KDF can't have a Vesta similiar vessel.

They can even call it the Chancellor Class strike vessel after the Gorkon novels.
    Something like;

    Chancellor Class Strike vessel
    Rank Required: Lt.G
    Hull Strength: 29,000
    Shield Modifier: 1.15
    Crew: 950
    Weapons: 4 Fore, 2 Aft
    Device Slots: 3
Bridge Officer Stations: 1 Lieutenant Universal, 1 Lieutenant Engineering, 1 Commander Science, 1 Ensign Universal, 1 Lieutenant Commander Tactical
Base Turn Rate: 13 degrees per second
    Impulse Modifier: 0.16
    Sensor Analysis
    Can Equip Cannons
    Standard Cloak
Aux Disruptor Dual Heavy Cannons Mk XII [Acc] [Dmg]x2
1 Hangar Bay with 1 wing of Siphon Drones

No idea what the three variant special abilities would be.

or they could draw inspiration from MisterDee's Deep Scout vessel ideas.

Ah, I see what you think my post says :) They've actually not got their hands on it yet ;) The constructive feedback has come from the stats, as well as the discussions they've been having with the Devs -- actual testing of the ship will be happening very soon; you might even see one while your on Tribble soon and have the chance to challenge one to PvP or run alongside one in an STF, event, ETC.

    Cheers,

    Brandon =/\=

Excellent that their will be some testing.

However, (like before) wrong order of things.

First do proper testintg, see how your idea's function in practice --> adjust stuf --> retest

Then anounce the ship with all its specs on the website.

    Roach:

I have thought about this too. I really like the Gorkon series and think that it would be a nice complement to the Vesta, given that the Chancellor class become the top of the line of the KDF fleet. My only issue is aesthetic:

When I look at the book covers, the thing hardly looks different than the Vorcha, which (forgive me fellow warriors) looks like some kind of weird lobster/scorpion thingy. I recognize that it carries more troops, etc., but I would want something slightly more unique.

I like the idea for the ship, Roach, and hope that they will use it as inspiration for something new, I just wish it looked a little more distinct. For me, the Negh'Var is still my fav. How about a upgraded Negh'Var, huh? The Gorkon has the designer of the Negh'Var onboard, let's get her to work on something!

Its not like "looks" is a huge Klingon concern. What do you plan to do with this vessel? Fight or cruise the Keth lowlands like a common Slarg on payday?

    just joking.
I have no doubts the Dev team will give it a good body design.

Danubes are a completely unrelated issue, I don't think it should be tied to the Vesta. Danubes are also very useful to regular carriers, with a very low turnrate, they allow them to use frontal dps - something which isn't reasonable to do without danubes. If you nerf them you'll severely nerf carriers, and it will allow escorts to tank even more, if they aren't stopped from tanking like mad by tractor beams anymore.

So, nerfing danubes is something you should consider twice, because if you do that you will:
    - make carriers useless in pvp. Their turnrate is too low not to be compensated by tractor beams. Most of the time, escorts are immune anyway, and i've never seen a good cruiser really annoyed by danubes.
    - make escorts even more powerful, since danubes are one of the main ways to stop them from tanking like mad without any team support. Actually, when I fly my temporal destroyer, danubes are almost the only way to take me down with the snb doff or a tremendous amount of teamwork.

If you nerf danubes them you should also nerf:
    - escorts shields. No escort should have a shield modifier superior to 0.85 (including the armittage).
    - attack pattern doffs. It makes regular tractor beam useless and gives escort a permanent immunity to them.

this is utter bs dude...........my cat box carrier dont even use tb pets and can tank 3 escourts just fine. a sci carrier or engy carrier will not do dps. its not there for it. its tghere to soak up damage and heal a team.
also attack pattern doffs dont bring omega below global. i can always carry 2 omega 1 and with 2 attack pattern doffs i can use omega 3. oh and btw with tb pets im locked in tractors even with omega and ph with dampners skilled to 6..............

Same here. Cycling twin ApOs and I still get the stutter move/stop/stutter move of being TB'ed multiple times.

I can deal with it as a matter of gameplay but its hardly true that TB pets are only mildly annoying.
They are completely annoying and can lock you up just as easily as Siphon drones can shut somebody down.

Like Siphon Drones, the Danubes need a further balancing to keep them useful but not let them lockdown otehr players permanently.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever read on these forums. STO is doing amazing and has a ton of support behind it, its team and its future from both Cryptic and PWE. STO and NW have their own dedicated teams, both of which are growing. I even spoke to a brand-new STO Content Designer just today that will be saying "hi" on the forums soon, and have met several other new Devs that have joined the team recently. The team is growing and will continue to do so.

First new content since March? Season 6 launched just over 3 months ago in July.

    Cheers,

It's funny thinking about it. I haven't got that adrenaline bounce in PvP like I do in STO since Shadowbane. EVE never did that. Heck, even UO didn't. Not AC, AO, WoW, WAR, RIFT, EQ, AA, etc, etc, etc...

...when there's a good clean match - legs start bouncing as the adrenaline starts pumping. Don't even notice it - stuck in a trance - fingers flying on the keyboard, mouse turning looking around the field of battle - and just lost in that beautiful dance that can be PvP in STO.

Don't need any napkins handy, but I'll usually go for a smoke after a good fight... win or lose - it's just that much fun - it's that good.

I was thinking this ship was gonna be the fed analog to a karfi, I was close. I do not think it would be too much to ask to give every fed ship the ability to mount heavy guns. It is not like most of them would take advantage of the ability to do so anyways.
