The majority can't even understand a balance pass nor comprehend the changes, so why does it matter if it gets balanced for PvP?

PvE in this game is so easy that you can sleepwalk through most of the content.

So even if the ship takes into account the only worthwhile content (PvP) when being balanced, the average person will still find it awesome.

You have got to be kidding - you are talking PvP player playing PvE or elite PvEer's

The "average" elite STF player in a PUG could definitely benefit from a more OP ships as they are not interested in building up proper skills or tactics - just point and click.

So infact you are wrong - more people will benefit from more powerful ships in the game then the tiny fraction that will have to adapt more in PvP.

Most PvP players pretty much admit that PvP is dead in STO so why should Vesta get Balanced for a few players??

    This ship looks very interesting.

This is a ship I have been looking foreward to seeing after reading the Destiny books.

The consoles looks interesting aswell, and the set powers look solid.

I have gone from might try it out to actually getting this now.

It also looks cool, and a bit different than other ships of the line...

I didn't feel like going through all the pages so this might have been brought up already but the whole perfect shield thing...does it mean perfect. The 100% thing could mean it doubles your shields power not specifically makes you 100% resistant to all damage. I could be wrong but thats my guess.

Second...does it really need more hull? She has plenty offensive power...basically a free Polarize hull with doff bonus included, a AOE TSS/HE in one, plus the bonus shield bubble. I think the ship with be fine with a few k less hull.

It looks like it could be fun, but since I'm already quite happy with my Odyssey 3 pack the only way I'd get this is if it's made available in Tribble and I like it after trying it out, but I've heard only certain people will be able to test it so it's not looking too likely that I'll get it at this point.

I will never again buy a cstore ship without trying it out first, not after wasting $20 on the Atrox only to find out I hate it and will never use it.

I LOVE THIS SHIP DEV"S BUT:

Please make an adjustment to at least Wells class hull of 30k!!

This ship is over 500 meters long for crying out loud!

It's no secret that I have been cheerleading her on the Forums for some time.

I just hope she is not being made squishy on the Hull side intentionally.
And don't forget to nerf the turn rate to 8. After all this ship is over 500 meters long.

Something just occurred to me, this auxiliary phaser cannon? Is it gonna be to auxiliary power how other energy weapons are to weapon power?

As in if you don't have 125 auxiliary power you would be hurting yourself? we can't hit 100+ weapon and auxiliary power so unless you go heavy auxiliary and not worrying much about weapon power (which likely won't happen on this ship) wouldn't that cannons hurt more than anything?

Well, theoretically, you can get 125 weapon/aux power with EptW+EptA. But you would die very quickly, because of no EptS.

Ehh...probably better to skip the auxiliary cannon unless running a heavy auxiliary based build. Mk XII but the stat mods are kinda blah and if need max auxiliary to be fully effective its not really worth it.

    Pay 2 Win.

To be honest this is so horribly overpowered I think it breaks the game.

I'll be sticking to broken D'Kyr thanks.

I can't believe your all so excited by this, to me it's just poor, because before you know it everyone will be flying this thing and the game will get damn boring.

    Yeah right.

Escort/Carrier/Science/Cruiser all rolled into one, the Oddy is certainly not overpowered in comparison to this.

Urgh - as per the ' ;) ' it was a tounge-in-cheek comment, and I simply meant that the Vesta class will be EVERYWHERE on release day as the Odyssey was on it's release day.

(I seem to recall arriving at ESD to find that 90% of the ships surrounding it were Odysseys the day after they were released).

Lol, this unlike the Odyssey though will be so OP that I guess you'll be seeing it 90% of the time more than just on launch day :p

Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

How about letting things pan out 1st?

3 forward/rear slots limits things and the cool downs on the new
consoles powers are hardly game breaking?

1 is equivalent to reverse shield polarity
the other is BO3 and the slip stream buff wont affect PvE or PvP.

And really? people getting stress-y over the shuttles.

If you haven't figured out how to deal with 'em yet. Please do :D

And yes i will buy a vesta (gonna bag me a klingon!) :D:P:D

I'm not too keen on this. Having a 3-piece set that can only be fitted onto this one class of ship seems rather excessive.

It's just another God ship. Loads of money for Cryptic. They still wont give us a better KDF, they still wont give us more KDF ships, they still wont give us a Romulan Faction. What will they do? They'll probably give us another Federation ship that'll make the Vesta obsolete.

I'll be overlooking this release; just as I did all the other over-powered ships.

Does leaving PVP on the account of the pet-spam fest it has become count as "knowing how to deal" ? :o

I hope you'll have fun "adapting" while being held by pet tractor beams / being de-buffed by a sensor scan @ max-Aux + and getting pounded by DHC and other Sci goodies @ max-Aux -- all at the same time .
Have fun with that coming from multiple ships ... , and hope you'll get them before they get you .

That won't be "viceral" PVP , that'll be Stupid PVP ... -- but then PVP has been stupid for quite a while now -- almost a year since the Bug ship was introduced , right ?

And yes , I'm saying this because I'm bitter , and because I miss the time when PVP was a bit more "normal" .

p.s. and if you heavens forbid don't manage to adapt to the latest Stupid , then I hope your fellow PVP-ers will cry NERF long and loud -- until the ever "wise" Geko decides to nerf the perfecly acceptable Sci powers all Sci captains have now , only to bring some semblance of balance to PVP -- because of one ship .
(which will off-course suck for every other Sci captain who is Not flying this particular junk heap .)

Having far too much fun with my free Kar'fi to care about this ship :)

When we're talking about a Tier 5 Connie or a Fleet Excelsior then I'll be interested :D

I'm kind of torn here... I was interested in it when it was one ship, not three. I can't decide which variant I really want, if any, or all three.

$50 is quite a lot to be spending. But if I wanted more than one variant, it would be stupid not to get the bundle.

I might just wait and see what people think about it when it actually goes live and they get a chance to try it out.

If you're not interested in the Vesta, hold on to your Zen. Cryptic occasionally has a sale on older ships after a new one gets released.

The fact that cryptic keeps pushing out $25 single ships and $50 ship bundles is unacceptable. Those aren't microstransactions anymore. They are the equivalent of full priced games. Yet, where is the content? Where are the FE's? Where are the new STF's? Still trying to figure out how these microtransactions can go into a sausage grinding machine that spits out next to nothing on the other side.

How does this ship address gross imbalances in PVP due to pay 2 win consoles skewing the battle in favor of flying wallets? Nothing new here. A new shiny will come out in the c-store a month later that will once again break pvp.

Quoted for truth, these are not micro-transactions.

Basically a very OP ship that's been delayed for so long and has a massive demand pool of players who have been waiting =

Just shows that balance isn't a high priority for the devs anymore, nor is modernizing lower tier ships with proposals like suricata's ship tier revamp. Common sense and fair play got thrown in the warp reactor long ago. All we can hope for now is that people get tired of buying shiny ship after shiny ship with no new story content to complement those new purchases. It's clear season 7 and season 8 are more about megatransactions than anything else; they aren't even trying to be discrete about it anymore. Not going to buy the our team isn't large enough excuse anymore; you are getting money out the whazoo.

Edit: I want to add that I think Leviathon is spot on in the thread where he talks about the underlying philosophy in this game. It encourages beating others by outspending them with real money. It encourages competing against others in social zones where the idea should be that we're supposed to level up while having fun. Now with the game encouraging people to dedicate a huge part of their play time to dilithium collection, the game is losing any sort of fun it used to have. And please don't give me sermonettes on how I can just play the game as I want and not grind. A lot of us want to have stronger characters which prompts us to get as strong in as we can in as little time possible. When the game starts to feel like a choice between a dilithium collection job and purchasing zen in the zen store to then sell that for dilithium, that's not healthy for a game. It will turn into have and have nots very quickly and worsen the imbalances already seen in PVP. New players won't even want to touch PVP because high level players are way beyond them.

Edit: It would be different if we at least had a more varied grind, but we don't even get that benefit. We play the same old fleet actions, STF's, and dailies. It's a non-stop grindfest. At least release more dilthium dailies and STF's regularly, so that the grind doesn't make us want to tear our eyes out.

No, why bother spending so much on a sci ship? DPS is king in the game, and the Fleet Defiant is the best at that. There really is no reason to use any other ship the Fed side has besides it.

When I play sci ships I rather do it on KDF side and get in a Karfi and use all the sci abilities this has and still have more hangars and dps then it too. Karfi can use sci and hangars but still be competitive with escorts in dps, I doubt the Vesta will be as competitive with 1 less hangar and 1 less fore weapon slot.

STFs the next few day after this is released is going to be horrible when we see trolls flood the ques with this monstrosity. It will be even worse then when the Atrox came out and everyone trolled STFs with that thing for the first few weeks. I think will be regularly hosting private no Vesta allowed STFs lol.
