I certainly hope you are joking - if not - you really need to go and talk to hawk in the KDF section - I believe he is the old Falcon if I am not mistaken.
Every day I make 2 runs on 3 KDF toons from DS9 to Qo'nos and back - doffing.
Every day I see less and less ships around Klingon sector space - hell some days I see almost as many FED ships in Klingon space as KDF. I see less and less in orbit, and I see less and less on the ground in first city and the academy.
KDF players are gone - and I think Cryptic must be noticing these numbers in their metrics as well.
I just don't see how Mr Stahl can make a Business case to his boss - PWE and then in turn their shareholders to invest in a faction that is disappearing.
doesnt change my opinion im afraid , think of me what you will , but simply merging the factions will NOT fix the problem , most of the dedicated KDF players that havent left already , would certainly leave if that happened
i dont want to see kdf and federation joined but i do want to be able to team up with my federation friends.

Well another option at the top end that has been suggested is an end to the war. Then the Q's could be mixed and invites to starbases could be mixed. There are more positives to that then just trying to advance a story where it's quite possible no-one shows up.
I still think the best way to get new KDF ships is to have them fall under the Fed banner where both Fed players and KDF players can buy and fly ships from both sides without rolling new charcters. I am sure that 10,s of thousands of Fed only players would buy some KDF ships if given the option. This financially would make it easier for Cryptic to put out new Klingon models.
Hey OP, you are completely entitled to your opinion, even though its a terrible idea. But just like no one is going to change your mind that this terrible idea should happen, you arent going to change the minds of the people who disagree with you by constantly spamming the same lines over and over. So while I respect your right to believe in your terrible idea, you should respect the right of other people who realize how terrible it is.

I actually responded to rrincy in the KDF forms on why our opinions differ: I play KDF ever day 7 days a week - rrincy hardly ever does.
See this is why my opinion on the state and viability of the KDF differs from yours - I have my KDF 'boots on the ground" as it were - at least 2 hrs a day - 7 days a week for at least the last 10 months.
It seems rrincy and I are having a conversation that is crossing 2 threads so I will only respond in the KDF threads to rrincy. And it's fine for everyone to post their opinion here - I encourage them to do so.
We got 5 featured episodes revolving around the war.
Some intense, new PvP missions
Given that Feds will probably be able to get KDF ships, I think this is inevitable with the merging of two factions even though I really don't want it, I think they should have to grind for a KDF ship more than anything else in the game. They would have to grind 8000 dilithium everyday for about 6 months to get a KDF ship on TOP of the dilithium it costs for a KDF player to get the ship right now and vice versa.
Overall I don't want this to happen, but these are my personal terms, even though my personal terms don't matter.
Season 8: Klingons & Romulans Join the Federation.
NO - not interested in joining the Federation. I'd rather see Romulans merge with the KDF, and I don't even want that. Seriously, what does the Federation have to offer either of these Empires? Sorry, but the general long term goals and dominant ideologies of both Klingons and Romulans are vastly different from those who belong to the Fed. The word "Empire" is a dead giveaway.
Let me be the first to welcome our Klingon and Romulan brothers and sisters to the stronger...
- Merging factions? Not at this point. Might be worth considering with new factions but that will itself be a struggle.
- End the war? Yes, please.
- Allow more opportunity for factions to team up? Yes, please.
- Allow more opportunity for factions to fight? Absolutely.
My preference would be to off J'mpok in a new endgame event. Once its run for awhile rename it as "Historical Recreation: Fall of J'mpok." Replace him with what I'd call... a libertarian Klingon. Maybe one who's lived among the Chalnoth.
The new chancellor hands out ships to good warriors and touts a new philosophy "Honor is not for bureaucrats to decide. Honor is in the eye of the warrior to behold."
Klingons may then team or fight with Feds as player sees fit. Team for missions. Challenge to PvP, fights, and skirmishes. The official stance of the Empire towards the Federation becomes that they have no stance. You want to kill them? Great. Th Empire will arm you in your glorious quest, warrior. You want to team with them? Great. The Empire will arm you in your glorious quest, warrior.
It'd be even better to have the new Chancellor surrounded by Fed diplomats, telling them that he refuses to prevent his warriors from killing Federation citizens but that the government doesn't condone it either.
The KDF hands out weapons to any proven warrior and adopts a "do as thy wilt" approach to what they do with them. Not a veiled "It would be great if you fought the Federation." Just "We arm everyone and believe the victor deserves to win."
I imagine my hypothetical new chancellor as a kind of guy who, when confronted with diplomats who disagree, says, "Take a bat'leth and kill me if you disagree. If not, my goal is to arm everyone in the galaxy, Klingon or not, and let everyone solve their problems in battle."
My hypothetical chancellor is the kind of guy who, upon learning that you're a Starfleet officer who killed 1000 Klingons, invites you to Qo'noS to throw a feast in your honor.
My hypothetical chancellor is the kind of guy who, upon learning that you're a Starfleet officer who killed 1000 Klingons, invites you to Qo'noS to throw a feast in your honor.
The tiny little problem with your hypothetical chancellor is he would probably be assassinated very quickly(for throwing parties for klingon murderers), meaning the entire story explanation for such a system would fall apart.

That's an interesting idea, but seeing the empire lose it's "personality" wouldn't be that great. A better way this could be done is by implementing House gameplay. Some houses would be friendly to the Federation, others would be outright hostile, some would support the Romulans but hate the Feds and vice versa. That would actually deepen the Empire rather than genericize it. (is that even a word? )

Now this is an excellent idea.
Just been on tribble, and running about doing namby pamby fetch quests for the romulans just feels plain wrong - since when did war hardened generals run round after a bunch of civilians finding their lost homework, encouraging them not to be lazy by asking nicely, and fixing their expresso machines?
How many times does someone have to make a thread on this pushing this insane idea, that does not go along with the lore. Something like this would be fine for the Feds, they would sell earth if it meant peace. Klingons take recurring betrayal very seriously, and do not make allys with enemies, that have betrayed them. Look at worf he hated the Romulans even after many years of their betrayal to the Empire. It has not even come close to many years, sense the Federation betrayed the Klingons, and condemned their invasion of Gorn space.

Ive said it before so many times, and ill keep saying it no. I did the grind on my klingon before they added some episodes to the Klingons. I have a maxed out fed character. I have no interest for peace at all. This suggestion is fine for the feds, but it is not fine by a klingons point of view. Basically this boils down to greed, the feds want every season to be about them, by merging the factions every season becomes about the Federation. The sad thing is they have everything now. The klingons need to be finished properly.

I have over 600 hours - six hundred hours - of play time as a Klingon - yes I have 2400 hrs of Fed play time
so that's about 5 to 1 - still does that make me a Fed?? I play my KDF's everyday - 7 days a week - does that make me a Fed?
This war is over - it was a fake war to begin with - one created by a 3rd party and trickery - the KDF as a viable 2nd faction gas not proved financially beneficial to Cryptic/PWE - either things are change to merge them more together or the KDF gets nothing.
Frankly I don't know the data but from what I see running multiple KDF toons everyday across sector space - I don't see how Mr Stahl can justify building up the KDF as a full-faction.
But whatever - I am done with this - you guys will get what you get - it affects me very little either way.

Just where did i mention you by name levi -.-
we know full well you have KDF characters , im talking about there ones that dont and still demand all content for the fed side , they do exist and have existed on this forum
1) Levi starts this thread and makes his case in the OP
2) people reply explaining why they disagree with Levi's idea
3) Levi then proceeds to repeat the same basic case he made in the OP over and over, which is essentially spamming.
Levi, if your OP did not convince people that your idea is good, then spamming the same thing over and over isnt going to either. You've made your case, people dont like the idea, now get over it.

Someone remove this thread.
