I think the rep system is far too fast and the costs too low, especially the dilithium. Maybe instead of increasing the amounts across the board (except for dilithium, please keep those costs as high as possible) add more necessary inputs, like bridge officers and Mark XII blue and purple equipments.
People need to work hard for these rewards, and I'm just seeing more instant gratification here.
I couldn't disagree more, it takes 59.5 days to get through the reputation system if you run projects back to back. Every reward costs a significant amount of dilithium or EC resources. As you level up a tier, the inputs become more expensive. Players already have to work very hard to advance tiers in this system, it costs around 120K EC in other resources to kick one tier II project off, plus the marks and dilithium. And to propose the addition of blue/purple Mk XII gear in the cost? Where would the average player get this gear to turn in for the project, blue/purple Mk XII gear is already in the millions on the exchange due to rarity.
yeah right wehatever , i'll belie that the same way i'll belive in santa clause. there are too many ground enemies that if they crit are an automatic one shot gg no re. ou are not getting that lucky in a month of sunday's.

If you've properly chosen your skills and get decent (ie blue Mk X or above) anti plasma shields and armor, you CAN'T get OS. That's not possible, unluss you generate an insane amount of threat, which is very unlikely unless you are a very skilled tac player. :P
PvP sucks even more than before due to new system. Trophies are ignored. I ask the Devs not to kill Starbases and drops so they can remove appeal of the game to all but the highest of limit Visa based players.
1. Keep gear independent related to each particular style of playing (ground vs space)
2. Remove dilithium requirements altogether for gear
3. Keep dilithium flowing and do not add more competition for it and kill fleet projects
4. Add some new featured episodes and content
5. Fix the trophy missions
PvP is dead and if we dont do these things PvE goes away also.
And Cryptic will follow "City of Heroes" into the realm of failure:cool:.

Mate even with all that, (or more specificlly the STF MkXI sheilds)m, on normal there are a wide range of things that will come within a hair of one shotting you even if you have decent points in the relevant ground skills. Elite ramps the damage up. I don;t care if you've got the best possibble sheilds and armur out there and perfect maxed ground skills. A crit from some of those WILL OHKO you. It cna't not given the degree of damage increase vs the degree, (or lack of), scaling in sheild capability. You just can't get enough raw HP's that an Elite Tactcal or Armek can't crit you for more than you have. He cna allready strip a sheild and 90% of your health on normal, Elite Tac's aren't quite so hard hitting but a crit is still 75% of total effective HP gone.
With a team of 5 tacs it can be insane. It can be permanently activated.
As far as I know, Tactical Initiative does not stack. TI reduces a power to X% of its standard recharge time; it does not subtract from the current cooldown. Example: I've got 6 Ranks in whatever skill boosts TI; most people don't go that high. My TI reduces Ambush to 15s Cooldown. If somebody else uses a weaker TI and pushes my Ambush to 20s, if I use my TI, it pushes the cooldown to 15s (that its, it doesn't reduce it to X% of 20s or set the CD to 20s - (1-X)60s). And If I use TI when Ambush is lower than 15s, the remaining cooldown time is unaffected.

I mean, it's a decent move on Cryptic's part - making dilithium more desirable so that people would buy more Zen and post it on the dilithium exchange. When Season 5 launched I kind of laughed that there's basically nothing to use dilithium for, as most things could be obtained by other means. Season 6 changed that with starbases and Season 7 will add more with reputation system. But I still don't consider this a bad move.
What I DO consider terrible however is how Cryptic's integrating the new changes with current game. I just want to cry and yell "YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!!". I've got no issues with grind, honestly. This is an MMO game, players may sometimes be forced to work their way to get new shinies. But the current implementation not only requires players to grind two completely new currencies that are obtainable in different missions, but also nerfs current dilithium rewards AND doesn't provide any new ways of obtaining it whatsoever (ok, there's, like, one new daily... worth 480... "yay"...).
I just can't get my head around this. Instead of introducing a system that is actually rewarding AND enjoyable, they force players to grind completely different missions for completely different rewards just to be able to progress through a system with artificial time barriers that unlocks additional dilithium and mark stores. And that is definitely NOT fun, and believe me whan I say players won't feel they're acomplishing something by playing, but rather will consider the new content an unnecessary busywork...
What are you doing here? No Story for the reputation-System. But grinding grinding an doff-grinding! We need to much doff's! Fleet embassey, fleetstarbase and reputaion-System! I hate this! Pls nerve this again, or you are loosing some storygamers:mad:

You mean that being forced to farm stupid fleet actions when you like difficult endgame content where you need to cooperate with other players such as STFs to get your STF rewards is stupid?
Yeah we'll be forced to compete in stupid queues with others to get our dil to buy our completely unrelated rewards... Instead of forcing us to play the klingon scout force or the gorn minefields to get the dil we need to play the content we like, the devs should wonder why people don't queue for that TRIBBLE.
My Mk XI Assault Weapon store unlock finished (after 40 hours)... man what a let down!
There are 7 miniguns in the store. No other weapons types (I was hoping for a pulsewave).
They have 2 modifiers + 5% plasma and disruptor procs.
The info text speaks of slowing down the target (possibly leftovers from copy/pasting the text from phaser weapons).
They cost 10,760 Dilithium each. This is more than much better Fleet Advanced Mk XII weapons, and only slightly less than nearly comparable weapons from the Dilithium store.
I just unlocked Tier 1 of both reputation, Holy Moly are the requisitions excessively costly!
Omega Force: 20K Dil for each piece of the retro Borg set(formerly 5 EDC), and 15K for the console(free mission reward)... wow. Plus a ton of Omega Marks (250?). A tenth of that Dil amount I could maybe see, but the current prices very few newbies and new toons are going to be flying with the retro set anymore. I'd hate to see the prices of the MK XII sets...
Romulan: hey the hangars only cost 10K dil... AND THIRTY (30) DOffs of a certain rarity and type! WTF? I didn't look at anything else, as I was so fed up I just logged out of Tribble entirely after seeing that...
I can only hope that these costs get dropped massively (80-90% off, not 5% lowered) before it hits Holodeck.

JESUS MACKEREL!!! That's insane!!! Madness! Crazy talk! Wacko speech!
First starbases now this.... look, I'm perfectly okay with Dil being a necessary currency. I'm perfectly okay with things being added that require it. It keeps zen flowing into the game and gives us stuff worth working toward. But for goodness sake! Make it fun getting there!!!

He's exaggerating.
It's 30 common engineering or Operations. It's not a specific specialty. Here's the full list(subject to change, like everything else on Tribble).
60 Romulan Marks, 10k Dil, 30 eng or ops Doffs, 10k expertise, 1 peregrine fighter, 5 warp coils.
The security escorts are actually pretty cheap.
10 rom marks, 1250 dil, 1500 expertise, 5 common security or tactical doffs, 2 large power cell, 1 common personal shield Mk 5.
What part of Free Doffs are no longer free do you not understand?
the only significant cost is on the compactor. Branch recruiting is still free. general recruitment isn't very expensive.
Yeah it's not cheap, but ask yourself this: Would I buy more than one Scorpion hangar even if it was cheap? It's not the sort of thing I can imagine buying multiples of. I'd get just enough for my carrier(if I had one) and that'd be it.
It's not something you have a reason to do unless you want the hangar.
EDIT: in my previous post when I said "he's exaggerating" I meant tom61sto.

After all the DOff grinding I've done for the fleet starbase I'm not sure I even have 30 white quality DOffs at all, with slowly acquiring greens and blues consumed at a much lower rate by the fleet base gods.
Are you guys serious? All the current rewards are locked until we reach tier 5? I mean come on guys we worked hard and long for that stuff, and suddenly we don't have access to it? After looking at it, its clear that completing the rep system up to tier five will take weeks at the minimum. Am i missing something here? I'm one piece short of completing my mk XII ground set, I have two complete mk XII space sets and maco commander title. While I hope to get the final piece of the ground set before the launch of 7, I have killed IGE many, many times and never gotten the prototype shield tech. But if I don't I'm suddenly locked out, from getting the set for weeks maybe months, regardless of whether i can speed through all the Ground Elites. How is that fair?
Giving bonus dilithium does not suddenly make that better, I have more dilithium then I care to use right now, which will certainly will help me in my quest to get my gear back, but I'm gonna have to spend resources and a large length of time getting back what i spent weeks and months getting in the first place? Come on guys, there has to be a better way of doing this.
Giving bonus dilithium does not suddenly make that better,.
What bonus dilithium? STFs currently give less on Tribble (960 Dil for Elites currently), and the turn in 5 Borg whatsits for 1K Dil is at best breaking even compared to extra tech/salvage drops you could convert to Dil.

First of all Cryptic, stop adding ******n DOff requirements to these things. I don't know how you haven't noticed the huge problems yet but to put it plainly, your in-game economy cannot handle it. There simply aren't remotely enough DOffs either on the market or through existing means of production that can support even a few of the players' higher-end requirements, let alone everyone's.
Secondly, gating people out from commonly-used equipment (the Borg console? Seriously?) means we'll see a wider gulf between geared players and naked ones and the PvP queues will suffer even worse. If you want to make a quick buck out of forcing people to buy dil, fine, but just be straight-up honest about it and remove all the other item requirements. Just make it a dil store. What we have right now is absolutely awful.

You're living on massively borrowed surpluses. It's basically comparable to peak oil, only with reserves instead of production rates; you don't see how bad the deficit is because you're at the top of the bell curve.
To put it more simply, the DOffs (yes, even the common whites) that exist on the market today are only there because of the immensely hard, grindy work a few people are putting in and the Zen being poured into the engine to try and meet ~Tier IV+ starbase demands. As more people start reaching Tier IV, demand will exceed the last of the supply and the production wells will close (no more free Academy packs).
To see evidence of this, there are DOffs of a particular type and rarity (I won't name them to prevent a bank run) that are absolutely integral to SB development, and they're just straight-up running out. Every day they become more absurdly pricey, people have to stuff more and more of them away in the Mail, and the clock ticks closer to complete exhaustion.

there's a giant gaping flaw in your logic.... I don't buy doffs more than once a month or so. All I do to get them is academy recruitment. Most on the exchange are idiotically priced as is. The main change in cost is the compactor, which yeah, now you have to pay to compact and uncompact over and over. Uncompactor is still free to use if you really need more commons.
And yes, I am a student of peak oil theory. More people should learn about it. But the analogy is inapplicable as it's merely a small change in cost not the drastic changes that you'll get when the major oil deposits are tapped out. That would cause oil production prices to rise a lot more than the season 7 vendor prices will. Secondary market prices.... good luck figuring those. but yeah, SBs have caused the availability of certain doffs to tank totally. The other flaw is that oil is used for fuel. While doffs have been compared to fuel, they aren't directly comparable. You don't need a steady supply to keep your starbase running, only to improve it.
They aren't. And they are even less usefull than they used to be.
Since the new c-store ships should have 10 consoles after the sovereign failure (they won't admit it but this ship wasn't a success at all, you'll see very few people flying it), you don't even need fleet ships. New c-store ones will have up to par stats. And of course the lockbox ones will remain slightly superior.
You didn't need the starbases' weaponry: the STF store is still free in season 6, and you will unlock new stuff in your personal stores through reputation. Of course this weaponry is competitive with the fleet one; there's nothing you need in the fleet stores, except the hangar pets (and fleet hangar pets might not be that great since some guys can't stop whinning about runabouts. :P). And of course the STF sets are better than any fleet gear, because they have good bonuses and powers.
So, if you're logical, you should stop working on your starbase right now. There was little to no reason to start a starbase before season 6; with season 7, there is absolutely no reason to upgrade it anymore. Their rewards sucks. They have no use, everything can be found in other stores or on the exchange. Eventually, they will toss better carrier pets in the lockboxes and there will be zero reason to even consider spending something in the starbases.
Well im Using the fleetdoffs to fill the Projects like the 30 Common Op/eng Doffs, so i only had to buy 30 packs and it was done, duo the Huge Amount of Fleet Credits i Think Cryptic did this on Purpose
