Hey, Borticus or Branflakes, I'd like to trouble you for a quick question.
When the new Tholian Lockboxes arrive, will the lobi store continue to contain the existing items or will the new store only contain items related to the Tholian Lockbox event?
If the old items are to be swept away it'd be pretty handy to know in advance so we can buy the items we want before they disappear!!
Thank you.
When the Tholian Lock Box arrives the inventory of the Lobi Store will change. The items currently offered will be taken down and a completely new offering will take their place.
There's a chance that the items that are taken away will return in the future at some point, but there's no solid plan in place as to how or when.

Any chance you could at least make the Ferengi set stick around?
Or make Lobi account bound rather than toon bound while you're at it?
I have a D'kora ready to unpack, but I want it on a toon that doesn't have the Lobi I amassed.
This is terribly inconvenient for those who like to support the game via alt-pimping.
EDIT: Just checked, Ferengi set requires a redonkulous amount of Lobi anyhow. Guess I'll have to hope for a better means of availability in the future. Account Lobi would still be spectacular, though.
Wait a minute.... SWORD? They're going to give us SWORD? Tholian Crystalline Sword! C'mon! Are we still playing Star Trek?
Can you imagine captain Picard walking with SWORD in one hand and phazer in another? Or maybe we're gonna see knights, elves and castles, aren't we?
This is Star Trek, not WoW... It means "SCIENCE fiction". SCIENCE! Not fantasy...
Jeeeeezzzz...
Guess you did not watch much Star Trek....Sulu running down the Enterprise with a Sword...Klingons love swords, Jem Hardar love melee as well. Romulans have a thing for knives, well they like back stabbing but bet its with a knife. Mirror universe women love carrying a knife on their side...should i keep going. :P
Wonderful- more lockbox lottery.
You can win a tholian ship, if not you still get the chance to win ship X AND a chance at a cool console and a chance to win a unique DOFF, and CAN include a fleet credit boost.
So what do you actually get by opening this box besides a purple tetryon weapon? What for SURE item ? Right, LOBI crystals and vanity pets.
It's going to be an honor to space this box, if I decide to play again once all the BUGS from S6 get looked at.

Well thanks for the 1-day notice.
Why even remove the current offerings? Isn't the idea to give us more things to spend Lobi on?
Wow shocker. Let's see if this news shocks you, Do not want! Not playing has been a good solution to deleting a flood of lock boxes. Oh! Maybe an option to ignore the floating pay to loots?

happy to see the death of the Gold Boxes. one suggestion: give gold and LTSers a key or four a month as part of their stipend. atop the 500 zen. or make it a Vet reward say the 1100 Day reward, a Skeleton Key, one that isn't consumed upon use, but instead has a 20hour cool down timer.
I think the idea of a skeleton key for lock boxes with a cool down, exclusively for gold/LTS subscribers, is a fantastic idea. Yes it would only allow one box to be opened a day, but to do so would be an excellent perk for Golds.
I'm fairly certain that this is being pushed on Cryptic to push it on us, but I like the fact that Cryptic is actually listening to feedback and trying to make this work for us. I'm no fan of my ever growing stockpile of lock boxes, but I see them as a necessary evil. If they are making money to pay new employees and to fund new content, then I see that as a win for us. The lockboxes are never going to go away as long as PWE is "offering" their suggestions. The fact that Cryptic is trying to make this less painful says a lot. Imagine if a company like Electronic Arts was in charge.

I'm confused at the logic behind this. The only way to get lobi is to spend real money. So why would you remove items that are supposed to entice you to spend Lobi?

u could use dilituhm exchange or ec or fill out some surveys
Why even remove the current offerings? Isn't the idea to give us more things to spend Lobi on?
The idea from their business point of view is: "If Lobi store items are only available for a specific time period (set by the current offered Lock Box), people may feel the need to buy more boxes to get a specific desired item in time = more $ income."
Sure, maybe those items come back in the future. But the point is: Buy right now, if you want it, otherwise you have to wait an undefined time period.
From a player / customer point of view, it would be nice to have a store filled with lots of items to choose from. I would have liked that better as well. But, like i explained, that is not the way they (they = insert Cryptic or PWE if you will, depends on your fan / hate or black / white point of view i guess) try to make their money. Someone really likes to time gate stuff ...
Another interesting change: No Gold Lock Boxes anymore!
Thats a clever move too. Remember how many people wrote "I dont open green boxes, i wait for gold!"? Only for the better chances and items in it. So, now we have only one box, with better chances for some ships (how much better? who knows ... ), and generally advertised as much more rewarding. Let's wait and see.
I dont mind, that they finance their games with this. I don't like it, but i can live with it. I just wish those boxes were a little less ... offensive?! Lower their drop rate, and shrink them down. These are changes i would like to see. And of course (maybe 'soon'), new playable story content? Maybe somethin with the Tholians which explains more? Maybe even something very very cool we saw in the new Season Six Trailer, where they invade a ship, the gravity is off, and you have to use EV suits. New ships, fluff stuff, and grind missions are fine, but what is the point if you have no new story to enjoy it with? I know Season Seven is all about new story and sectors. I CANT WAIT! But in the meantime, maybe a few stand-alone episodes here and there? Like "Alpha". How does that sound?
PS: A little reminder (cant hurt): Foundry ... Foundry ... Foundry ... :P
This saddens me as a player since launch I have never gotten any special content from the lockboxes and to think I give you money throught the C-store to help pay your emploeys to design content that all can use, but instead it is always taken and used for lockboxes that very few people will be able to use.
While the rewards for the lock box do look cooler this time around, this quote sor tof echos my sentiments. Most, if not all, of these items should be made available to people in some way other than a lottery or a store that requires a lottery purchase. Add them to the Z Store, or the Dilithium Store, or something - but at least let those of us without interest in lottery games a chance to get them.
I know this has probably been asked before but can we get an increase to the stack size of lock boxes so they don't fill our inventory faster than tribbles?

Honestly, I wouldn't object to lock-boxes half as much if they stacked to 250!

Will never happen. An object that indefinately does the work of a single use 125 zen item once a day, would be worth 3750 zen. A month. We're getting a 500 zen stipend. How can anyone even for a moment believe something like that might happen? It represents a cash value greater than the cost of the monthly subscription. Double. And even if you dial it back to one or two a month, there'll be those who say "Why not just give us the zen points instead?" (Through from a pusher point of view, that's pretty easy to explain.)
Now you make that lockpick of yours eat (a lot of) dilithium, and maybe we'll get there. Could be a Horta of sorts. Me, I'd just suggest a compromise in the form of a Subscriber Six-pack, six keys for 500 zen, the exact value of one stipend, buyable only by Gold accounts and limited to one purchase per month, provided the C-store can even do that. (Making it repeatedly buyable would completely erase the added 'value' of the 10-key bundle otherwise. I'd suggest slashing that to 1000 though. People are suckers for round numbers that way. 1125 is just gonna make us do the math in our heads...)

Small quibble that I see people making all the time that's starting to make me feel like I have an OCD whenever I see people do this:
You don't buy the boxes, you buy the KEYS! The boxes drop like rain for free. You don't have to do anything but blow up some npc objects to get boxes. Boxes are everywhere. Boxes by themselves are WORTHLESS. No one (at least no one with any sense) is buying boxes.
It's the KEYS, people! The KEYS! The KEYS are what people are buying, the KEYS are what matter. The KEYS are the tokens we use for these lockbox gumball machines! The only thing the lockbox does is define the contents of the gumball machine.
I know this has probably been asked before but can we get an increase to the stack size of lock boxes so they don't fill our inventory faster than tribbles?
I can only shake my head. Everyone knows that the boxes are here to stay, right? Right? If you don't, then you are delusional.

we just got a new faction added to the game and they've already been butchered.
Oh, good. This takes care of the main complaint I had with them.

we did not get a new faction
why have them drop as loot at all put them for 0 dilithums in the store.
